Went there to get an exhaust installed and David quoted me around $80. Went back the next day 1st thing in the morning and David wasn't there, just his senior mechanic who asked me how much was I quoted. When David showed about 15 min later the mechanic had a talk with David and he came saying it would be $250 because the bolts were rusted shut and had to be cut with a torch. I could only get the bolts from the Lexus dealer which took about 4 days after Lexus screwed up the order and had to drive back and forth to El Monte wasting more time and money. When I finally got the brand new bolts which were pricey being from Lexus, I got the car back along with the old exhaust and the brand new bolts that they made me chase down for 4 days. It was all an excuse to charge me $250 instead of the 30-40 min of labor it should of taken to swap the exhaust. I will not be going back there again. Hope the $250 was worth future business. read more

When you go there the people working there just stare at you and don't even ask if you need help. I even waved at a worker, he looked at me and continued working. They look angry and pretty much just ignored me when I was standing there. Customer service here is literally non existent and garbage. What a big liar! On my last visit for tire balance job on 2005 Lexus E330,they told me that front brake pads were down to the last 10%, and warning me that it's only matter of few weeks before front pads wear to bare matal. I trusted their words and agreed to have the front brake done. After checking the old brake pads they took down,I found out the old front pads still have 60%+ remain. I checked with previous owner and was being told that brake on all 4 wheels was done just a year and half ago. Don't want to falsely accuse them about the lying,I actually borrowed a pair of new front brake pad elsewhere after the job and measuring the thickness vs. the old brake pads. That's how I came to the conclusion that there are 60%+ (actually close to 70%)remains on the old brake pads. I came back the next day to question owner's original claim(10% remain on the pads & last only few weeks). He cleverly fixed his words by saying that he meant the pads are GETTING CLOSER TO(instead of down to) the 10% reserve,and the pads will last AT LEAST(instead of only) few weeks. What a BS. I don't trust this shop again. read more

Tire got popped on the 10 yesterday so I took my car to get the tire replaced. Within 15 mins the place called me back because he couldn't get the spare off. Went to see what was wrong and found the man from the front desk in the back with a socket on my lug nuts cranking on it. He started saying I put the spare on too tight and the bolts will break because they're stuck. He told me it would cost me an extra couple hundred. The ironic part was that the bolts were already a quarter of the way off, how did they get stuck a quarter of the way off if I put them on too tight? So then he raises my car and starts going at the bolts to show me they won't come off. I tell him to stop because he's going to strip my bolts and he gets an attitude with me and his workers step up to me. He tells me that my bolts will break because I put the tire on too tight (using the socket my car came with and my hands) and he'll do it but I'll pay. I told him forget it and I'll take my car to someone else. He tells me now I'm riding on 3 because two are stuck on the tire. I told him just put my car down so him and his workers slam my car down throw the three bolts on and floor it so my car is out of the shop. He throws my door open and leaves my car in the middle of the drive way for me to get in and leaving without saying a word. I ended up having to take my car to another shop to get the bolts broken off and replaced because of their mistake. I would never NEVER recommend going here. I actually made an account to leave this review. On top of it I plan to call corporate because I had to pay for their mistake. Unprofessional, unknowledgeable, and a waste of time...go literally anywhere else. read more

My husband and I come here for more than 10years!!! Mr.David always give us correct suggestions and not too much charge like car dealer charge us. And mechanic Mr Sal he does great job,too. GOOD: The staff are friendly, honest, and respectable. I have had poor experiences with Car Mechanics before but I know when I come here, David, the manger will give an honest answer and set expectations properly. Service was pretty quick too. They quoted about 30 mins, but I think they were done in 15. BAD: None. EXPERIENCE: I received an Oil Change from David's nephew. Quoted $27 and 30minutes wait. They were done in 15 and no other charges or "you need to fix this too" statements. This is what I appreciate. I will come back as often as my car needs maintenance or service. read more

These guys are great. I went to pep boys after making an appointment for 8am. I had my confirmation email with me but my appointment didn't show up in their system. Then they said that two people were already there for their appointment so my appointment would be at 11am. Even when I had my confirmation email! I had to get my oil changed within the hour so I came over here. Walked in, no appointment or anything! They were super friendly too. It was $26.95 and was done within 30 minutes and they didnt try to sell me anything else or tell me anything was "wrong" with my car like most other places do. Fair price, friendly people and fast. this ower quotes prices differently evey time you call him, I asked him about tire alignment a few weeks ago, he told me $80 each time, life time service is $280, and as long as you own your car, doesn't matter if you change your car or which Firestone, next time I aksed him again, he chagned it to $200, and it ends if you change your car, and ONLY his store will do the alignment. My new car was leaking oil and the dealership wanted 100 dollars to diagnose it. Firestone diagnosed it for free! I was meaning to get it done when I passed Firestone and remembered David. David works the front desk and has always taken the time to show me exactly whats what on my old car. He would walk me to the back and show me my worn break pads or worn tire treading or dirty oil filter. Over the years I have come to trust his integrity. David is polite professional and trust worthy. I have no complaints about the work or the mechanics themselves. They buzz around the back and leave the customers to David. Last night I got a nail in my tire, which is Saturday night. Most of the shops are closed at that time. I went to this Firestone Sunday morning since this is the only tire shop open on Sunday. When I came in to the shop there is no one at the host so I walked back to the working area. This guy named, Ted, asked me "what can I do for you?" I brought it up straight I got a nail want to fix it. He just responded to me "I need to check not all the nail can be fixed." I understood that so I told him car is the front of the office. Ted went in my car and started rolling down my windows. Why I mention this because I just tinted my windows and he ignored the stick "PLEASE DONT ROLL THE WINDOWS." I stopped him and asked him why you rolled the windows. He said "I need to roll down to operate." I asked him "Did you see that sticker says not to roll down the windows?" He said "Yes." WHAT THE HELL IS THIS GUYS THINKING. IF YOU SEE THAT, WHY DON'T YOU ASK IF YOU REALLY NEED TO ROLL THE WINDOWS DOWN." I know it's not a big deal but point out he is not taking care of stuff well. Later he started checking and fix the nail. After that, Ted asked other mechanic to work on it. One thing to mention: they damaged the rims when they try to take the wheel off. Keep in mind they ain't that careful with taking care your car. If there is another choice to fix my car on Sunday I won't go to this place. Lots of people mention this Ted guy is rude and impolite. Keep in mind this is the place you car can be fixed but you need to take their shitty attitude and worry about they might damage your car parts. Just called to change one brake on my truck. Yes I said one because I did all three by myself, I just had a hard time getting the bolts off the last back left wheel. Anyways this rude, low monotone guy quoted me $80 for both rear brake pad replacements. Then I asked him if one wheel would be $40 and he said he won't do it. And tried giving me some stupid metaphor trying to "teach me a lesson" about brakes. Definitely won't be going here. $80 for a rear is a RIP OFF. Every where else, literally quoted me $45-60 for a set of backs. read more

I've been taking my car here for many years. Like the others said, David is great and honest. If something on your car is o.k., he'll say so. If something can wait 6 months before being repaired, he'll tell you. But if he sees a problem with your car - even if it's unrelated to why you went there if the first place he'll let you know that as well. The prices seem fair. I've had so many of the "chain" reapir facilities try to cheat me so it's really refreshing to find an honest one. I only wish more mechanics would realize that they can make more money by word-of-mouth referrals than by cheating customers one time and having them never return. I had the worst business experience of my life here with the owner David. I received a phone quote last week from his employee and David which included a 20% pennysaver coupon. It was a really good deal so I picked up my parents' car over the weekend from Ventura County to help save them money. I called Firestone at 8am this morning to make sure they had time for the service on MLK holiday and David confirmed they did. To my surprise on arrival, David jacked up the price $100. I thought my memory was just bad so I left the car for service to be picked up around 5 pm. On my way home, I specifically recalled my two separate phone conversations with him and his worker and them quoting me the lower price. So I called David back and mentioned this to him over the phone and he agreed to honor the lower price. However, he said that he needed the car until noon the following day. So now that the price is lower due to his dishonesty, he is no longer honoring the time commitment he made with me? I told him that I need the car the next day so I could not leave it for that long. He proceeded to tell me that he could not do the job then and that he turned down business because of my job. He also proceeds to tell me that I told him that I was going to bring the car to him last Friday. I know for a fact I did not say that because I did not make arrangements with my parents yet. I was so upset with his dishonesty, I just said fine. I went back and picked up my car without a word to David and no words from him. Based on the yelp reviews and my prior experience (brought my car in for a couple of jobs in the past) with David, I thought that I had finally found an good honest mechanic. I guess not. read more

Terrible experience when I brought my rental in for tire check up. Enterprise has their contracts with this place, so, I brought the rental car in cuz it was a luxury car, so, the display in the car said 'check tire pressure.' When I brought the car in, the owner, or mechanic, a Cantonese old guy, who can speak Mandarin, too, told me that just to check tire pressure, it is $5 bucks. I told him that Firestone has contract with Enterprise and can bill them for that. He said, no, just bring my car to another Firestone and they may be able to bill Enterprise. It turned out that I brought my car to another enterprise and they ended up switching the tires for me due to their contract with Enterprise, they will bill Enterprise, not out of my own pocket. Imagine if I paid him the $5, I will have to front him for the changing of tires which is hundreds of dollars? That is totally unprofessional and crazy. In addition, I had the Enterprise guy call this Cantonese guy, he ended up being very rude and still refusing to abide by their contract. They should not show their affiliation with Firestone if they aren't abiding by the same standards as the other Firestones. Such a rib-off and unpleasant experience. read more
