Went for lunch today and our youngest adult daughter and my husband shared a specialty hamburger. When my daughter cut the burger it's was actually raw. She then went to let the waitress know. A second burger was brought out and it was the same RAW. She tried to eat it but ended up with many pieces of grizzle in the burger. The waitress was more concerned about telling us we would not be charged for the burger. My husband also mentioned his carrot jalapeño soup was watered down very thin not the usual consistency. This is so unusual not we we have had in the past. I hope this does not continue or we will have to find a different lunch venue. read more

Fireworks is owned by the same people who own Lazlo's but it has a different menu. My husband always orders something different and has never had anything that he does not like. My favorite is the crab cake salad. We rarely sit in the restaurant because we prefer the screened patio or bar with TVs, especially during football season. read more

We went for a family dinner on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was great and service was good. However, they had no buns. On a Saturday night. We were given our sandwiches on white sandwich bread. Our meals were lukewarm at best, and our Mac and cheese (which was supposed to be one of there signature items) was cool and had unmelted shredded cheddar on top. I had the rotisserie chicken, which was pretty good, but no one else had a good time. Probably won't be recommending as a place to go in Lincoln. read more

Today was my birthday. I decided to have some good steak and beer. Took my family to fireworks Restaurant, because I heard it is locally owned, has a good atmosphere and good food. This was the worst decision ever! When I got there. There was 30 min wait and they offered us patio seats. I agreed to check it out. It was too hot but they seated us there. I asked a server to relocate us once inside seats were available. She agreed to let me know. I got their most expensive 12oz rib eye steak, french onion soup and the side of fries. I ordered Empyrean Beer which was really good, My wife got their Special Miso Salmon, with the side of rice and some special soup. I ordered kids meal for my kids 1) French onion soup was burnt. I could feel the unpleasant flavor in the soup and burnt crispy onions. It had too much onions and no broth at all. I did not want to eat it. I though to myself, the evening is not ruined. I came here to eat steak and drink some beer and have a happy birthday. And my wife politely asked a server to bring another bowl of the soup. My kids wanted to go to a restroom. So i took them to the restroom. On my way I saw 4 empty booths available. All cleaned and ready. And there was I, sweating like a pig on the patio. 2) When i came from restroom and my steak was ready on the table. I forgot everything that happened before and I had a huge smile on my face. I cut the juiciest part of the meat and started to eat. And It had no taste. I am not saying bad. I am saying no flavor what so ever. That was the most disappointing bite of food i have ever had. I am sorry to say that but the meat did not have any flavor. Zero flavor. My wife's food was not perfect either. She loved her soup but did not touch her main dish. I tried her dish. The fish was not bad at all but the rice was bad. The lovely lady came to us and apologized for the soup and offered us free desert. I got my kids an ice cream and I ordered creme brulee to share with my wife. And the deserts were actually really good. I thanked the server, left her a good tip. Boxed french fries, chicken nuggets and kids burgers for my kids and left the almost untouched 12oz Rib eye steak, her whole dish. P.S. I did not get an offer to move inside where air conditioning was even after my request. The server never brought my french onion soup. I am very disappointed in the quality of the food. The employees were very nice and understanding but I go to restaurant to eat food not to talk to people. read more

We've been once so far and it didn't start off the best because nobody greeted us at the table for at least 10 minutes. I got up and let the host know and within seconds someone was at the table, so no big deal. The food was pretty good too. I had the vegetarian burger and although it sort of fell apart under the pressure of squeezing the bun, it was pretty good. The kids all really liked their food as well and toward the end of the meal the manager came out and told us it was on them since we had to wait for service. Did not see that coming. So for that reason, we will for sure be back. They really took care of us - overdid it even - and the food was good too. read more

Don't believe the hype I came here 6 years ago for the first time and it was phenomenal. Well several managers later and several years later this place had gone downhill. This place is nothing short of amazing. Sunday night 7 pm. Walked in got seated immediately. Service was great. Our server took our drink order within 30 seconds of being seated. Drinks were served quickly. Our waiter took our food order and 2 minutes later had our salads. Shortly after finishing our salad our steaks showed up cooked to perfection. Our waiter checked on us during our dinner after we ordered dessert. Once again very quickly servered. Wish we could stop here more often but, we live out of state. Fireworks has always been a roller coaster ride for me. I have had good to the really bad. I usually never suggest the place when my friends are picking a place to eat but every time I come its ok. The one time I decided to go with my wife it wasn't even that busy and our service was slowwww. I also ordered a simple burger and it was blah. I have had worse. Like Lazlo's, they have the full range of the Empyrean beers, which go down smoothly below their rich high vaulted ceilings. Our server was a real gunslinger with the refills, which was nice that we didn't have to ask. I would highly recommend the Firecrackers if you're going to hit up the 'tizers. We had the Euro pasta and the crab ravioli. Both were very generous portions and delicious. Our only complaint about the food would be with the house salads, which were not bad by any means but they also weren't anything special. We also really liked that most of the seating was comfy booths that were high backed so we did have a good amount of privacy for warm conversation. One final thing to note is that we went without a reservation on a busy college football Saturday night and did not have to wait more than 15 minutes for a table. If you do have a wait, I would suggest sitting at the bar and sipping a Watchman IPA. Great TVs and a loose atmosphere made our wait much more enjoyable. read more

My wife and I were taking our parents out for a special occasion on typically cold, and typically busy Friday night in January. Fireworks offers the option to be seated in a heated three-season room, which takes less time to wait if chosen. So we did. Trouble was, a woman from the bar was already sitting at our table. Unbelievably, the waitress did not inform her the table was reserved and instead seated us at the farthest back table with a gale wind blowing under the table. We were not even able to read our menus, it was so dark, even with cell phone lights! We then got up to leave and another waitress asked us why. I said when you won't move a bar patron from a table, that tells us enough. Can't provide a review of the fare, since we were treated so poorly that we exited early. read more

I was very disappointed in this place. Maybe my expectations were too high as it looks nice on the outside. The inside just looks like a room with some booths, tables and chairs. There is no ambiance. It is a no frills place I guess. The same goes for the food. I ordered the special which you would think might have a nice presentation but it was a piece of Mahi Mahi ( very fishy smelling) with a blob of mashed potatoes plopped next to it. No color to the plate at all! The theme in this place seems to be beige when it comes to atmosphere and presentation. I had a Caesar salad to start and it tasted like they squeezed lemon juice all over it. I was there with my parents and they were not impressed either. The only good thing I can say about it is the server was very nice and brought things out in a timely matter. I will NOT be going back and neither will they. read more

It pains me to write this review because I have had a number of great experiences at this restaurant but the last 2 times I've been there the service has been terrible. The first time was a while back and we ordered takeout. They told us the food would be ready in 30-40 minutes so we arrived about that time. We approached the counter and were told it was going to be a few minutes. We waited at least an hour before they finally admitted that our order was lost. Ok, they didn't charge us for the meal which would have been more than satisfactory but half the order was cold. I chalked it up to a bad day, or a one time mistake. Went back again tonight and a server came over right away to take our drink order which we hadn't quite decided on so he left and never came back. We waited a long time and finally a server came over to take our order. While she was there we also gave her our drink orders. Took probably close to half an hour before we were approached again and the waitress said the bar was just a little busy and that's why it was taking so long. Finally got our drinks a couple minutes before the food came out. As usual the food was very tasty but the sides were warm at best. This is a really good restaurant but they need to get their shit together a little. read more

Best prime rib in lincoln. Beer from Empyrean Brewing Co., and I am a fan of third stone brown and the oatmeal stout. The bar and patio are both a nice setting, but inside seating is cozy and inviting as well. I always have had good service. Worth a visit. read more

We eat at Fireworks often. Great service, great food. Their Korean Wrap appetizers is very good, although not very authentic. I'm in LOVE with their crab cake salad. Best crab cakes in Lincoln. I love their fresh selection of fish and they always have interesting soups. My kids love this place for their great kids meals and desserts. Also a wonderful place for lunch. read more

Have been here a few times. I find the atmosphere okay. The food is a little hit and miss. For some reason our service has always been lacking. I see other servers that seem good, so I guess I'll conclude that is hit or miss also. I have not seen a manager, so I'm betting that's the problem. Six of us met here for a 75th birthday dinner on Saturday evening. They took our reservations that morning and we were seated immediately upon 6 pm arrival. Good menu, nice drink selection, nice art-deco ambience, reasonable prices. We were in the dining area to the far north, a separate room with about 10 tables, it took quite a long time for our food to arrive. VERY noisy. We had trouble hearing our server and she apologized for the noise. We spent the rest of the meal essentially shouting at each other to be heard. Also the wood smoke smell was close to overbearing. Our clothes reeked when we got home. If you have no noise or respiratory issues, nice place. I don't know if we will be back at a peak meal time though. It was exhausting. read more

After my SO told me about wonderful past experiences here, we planned a Friday night out (August 14, 2018). I was impressed by the ambience; the space is visually appealing. It was about 9 p.m., and the restaurant was no more than 20% capacity. We started with an appetizer of chips and salsa. Good, but nothing special. My SO ordered the brisket vegetable soup, which was quite good. I decided to try the black and blue burger and roasted red potatoes. I requested the burger medium rare, and was assured they would accommodate that. The burger came well done, not medium rare, and the potatoes were room temperature. I would have addressed the situation to the staff, but after the food was delivered, we didn't see another employee until the check was brought! No one checked on us for the duration of the meal. Where does this happen? The abysmal preparation and the complete lack of service made this the worst restaurant experience I've ever had in Lincoln. A better experience could be found by opening the phone book, closing your eyes, and pointing at random. I will NEVER enter this restaurant again. If I could give less than one star, I would. read more
