One of my favorite restaurants in Lincoln. The service is great and never had a problem with it when I'm there. If you ever order the Caesar salad, I suggest asking for the dressing on the side. They really drench the salad with the dressing and it makes it overpowering to eat. (For me at least) I had the chicken enchiladas with lime rice and roasted red potatoes to replace the pinto beans. Fireworks has a great program to assist people to earn free meals over time. All a person needs to do is get one of their membership cards. The atmosphere allows for good discussion as it is a low light restaurant and quiet. It is also.an atmosphere that allows for private discussions. The food has always been excellent and the staff knows their menu items well. They are always helpful with their food. They can tell you what's on each dish. The food comes out quickly and prepared as ordered. The only drawback is at times they do not have what a person wants to eat so a person should have a second option in mind. read more

We have been eating at Fireworks twice/month for the past year - along with another couple. The food/service has deteriorated to the point of no return for us. Last night my husband ordered a filet, med. well - it came out pink, barely warm, the baked potato was cold (the server did bring out another one), our friend ordered a rib eye steak which was lukewarm and not cooked as ordered. I ordered the club sandwich which came out with bacon, lettuce and I believe a slice of tomato (it was paper thin...), our other friend just boxed up her meal to take home and try to salvage it. I ordered a drink which came out with possibly two slight sips of alcohol. I asked the server to please take it back, he brought it out with no more alcohol but the glass was topped off with ice - it was absolutely insulting!! Each of our bills were over $60, which is acceptable if the meal is edible and none of ours were. The best part of the meal was my coleslaw. Our server never came over and asked how our meal was, we saw him again when he brought over our bills. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone, it has degraded to a minus 1 star! read more

I went here for a party and really enjoyed myself. Our group had a private room which was nice and the service was great. I had the philly cheesesteak sandwich and fries and a Mangorita. It was good and my friends seemed to all enjoy their meals too. I find it rare when a group of 10 are all happy with their meals. Now I have to go back and take my family! read more

I am not a fan. About once a year a family event brings me here and I dread it. First of all nothing ever sounds good. It is almost like they are trying too hard. Every dish includes some ingredient that doesn't belong. Example... Caesar salad tastes a certain way. It does not require citrus, which just makes it too sour. Leave it alone. Second, poor execution. I ordered a steak tonight thinking it was a safe choice. Not only did it not seem well seasoned, it tasted like it had been stored with the fish. Recommended by front desk staff at Fairfield Inn - they send a lot of guests over so the restaurant should send them some treats!!! Enjoyed our meal here. My boyfriend had a sirloin and said it was great! I was not really impressed with the prime rib unfortunately, lots of fat and too chewy. But the side dishes and salad were yummy. And we ordered a cola cake which was ahhhhhmazing! The staff was super great and did everything they could to make us happy with our experience. I'm really sad that I have to put a bad review but the dinner my husband and I had at Fireworks was not as good as I expected. I've heard this place is good and pricey so we went here for our anniversary dinner early on a Sunday afternoon in order to beat the crowd. I ordered the rotisserie prime rib with gorgonzola cauliflower soup, broccoli and macaroni and cheese. My husband had the New York strip, smashed potatoes and almond rice. I ordered my prime rib rare and expected it to be as such, but it wasn't. It was more like medium. But that I can look over, what I can't look over is flavor or lack thereof. To me prime rib is easy to cut, buttery smooth with a nice flavor or juiciness. That's why I paid $18 for it! Not this one. It was tough and very bland. I moved on to the macaroni and cheese, which my waitress said was to die for. It too was disappointing. My husband peered over and said, does that have cheese on it? Umm, if you dig maybe. I've ordered the broccoli a lot at their sister restaurant, Lazlo's, and it's slightly crunchy with great garlic buttery flavor. This was like flash blanched, too crunchy and I couldn't taste butter or garlic. The best part of my meal was the gorgonzola cauliflower soup. It was hot, creamy, cheesy and even more tasty when I crumbled up some of the complimentary cornbread in it. I'll have that again! My husband on the other hand said his food was good. The steak was well seasoned, cooked to his liking. He liked the smashed potatoes but wasn't a big fan of the almond rice as he prefers his rice plain. We chose Fireworks for a adult family dinner, and planned to enjoy ourselves there for awhile that evening. The food was overall pretty good, and the service very attentive! They made an exception, giving us an early reservation at a nice round table at the back of the restaurant, so our ambiance was great! My filet was cooked to perfection, hard to do! We also REALLY enjoyed the Crab Asiago dip! Drinks were quick to be refilled, and delivered as well! A few had the Prime Rib and commented that it was a bit chewy and gummy. This is a funny type of update but I'm giving them another star after having a night where there were so many kitchen mistakes I ultimately left without eating. We stopped in for restaurant week and I ordered the filet and double checked it could be made gluten free. When it came out it had a thick sauce on it I was suspicious about. After further investigation the server found out it was thickened with flour. The server was awesome though and took it right back for a remake. I eat my steaks rare to medium, any of those temperatures are a-ok for me. The remake came out, after my fiancé was done with his meal, and it was well done. Our server was awesome again and took it back. I didn't make a big deal but said since my fiancé was finished to just not worry about another remake. The manager came over on his own accord and told me my meal and glass of wine were taken off the bill and gave us a 30.00 gift card. What service! We were super impressed with their initiative. We stopped back in a couple weeks later and were in a rush to get to an engagement after dinner. Our server that night was also wonderful and got everything out super quickly. She was very friendly and accommodating. Food was awesome. Everyone has a bad night now and then, but after several times eating here I have been very impressed by their customer service and I have enjoyed the quality of their food. read more

What a cute place. We were seated next to the fire place and it was very romantic. We ordered a beer flight so we could try a little bit of all of them. I suggest sharing one between two people or expect to be a little tipsy before your food even arrives. I really enjoyed the French onion soup. A friend suggested we go here as it is close to his work. I had never been since I no longer live in the area. We went at 11:30 on a work day and it was pretty dead. Service was good and friendly. I ordered the brisket sandwich and didn't expect much, but it was quit good and the server brought out three different BBQ sauces to try. All were good. Fireworks has a great ambiance and is generally less busy than its cousin Lazlos (owned by the same people and have a very similar menu.) I always get the Thai Chicken pizza (without the chicken of course) and it is simply delicious. They can be vegetarian friendly with most of their dishes if you ask, but aren't good about substituting other items and don't have tofu. For example I always take off the meat, but they don't have anything that I can put on instead and they charge me the same. The location is out of the way from most of the main drags, but if you have time to drive a little, it is worth a stop in. read more

This is the 2nd time that we've tried Fireworks. The first time we each ordered a blackened chicken and a bruschetta chicken. Both were lacking in flavor and very dry. We did, however, have the soft pretzels for an appetizer, and they were awesome. We gave Fireworks one more shot over the weekend, and we were so disappointed. I had the Roasted Chicken Penang and my other half had the Chimichurri Chicken. Now, I will say that it's our fault that we even ordered a rotisserie style chicken...but the skin on it was bad. Bad, bad. The Chimichurri was lacking in flavor all together. It was hard to eat...everything about it was unfortunately bad. We each had a macaroni and cheese side and it was lackluster. The Chips served with Asiago crab dip were over cooked. Broccoli and rice came out cold. Not room temp but cold. We sat and listened to the table next to us send back a meal as well. What a mixed experience! Here's the good: the beer. Amazing. With it being Christmas, I had the Festive Ale and thoroughly enjoyed it. Very impressive. The atmosphere gets major points as well. Everything you'd ever want in a Wood Fired Brewery. The food bored us. We were looking forward to the wood fired pizza. And their offering in this category disappointed. No wood fired taste whatsoever and the sauce was acidic and terrible. And then the most bizarre experience: I ordered a pizza and asked to swap a topping. Last lunch I had was special, salmon and Mac n Chz. Salmon was best I've had in any restaurant cooked med rare and very juicy. Mac n chz tasty, lsat visit was supper and had wood fired chicken, also very tasty, lightly wood flavored but still juicy. Cooked perfectly, broccoli tenet but still crispy... very well done, quantity was just all I could eat. Highly recommend this place. So I won't judge it from my stuck-up San Francisco foodie perspective but a comparison of my experiences so far with Lincoln. Have been a fan of Fireworks for years. I have really appreciated the "fire" in the food to accompany the variety of handcrafted ales that are offered. The consistency of quality is what brings me to Fireworks time and time again. They have excellent quality of beef from their burgers to their steaks. Seafood is fresh! Atmosphere is relaxing with dark but warm colors in a simple modern decor. Comfort is found in sturdy stools, chairs and booths, plus stonework adds to this feeling. The wait staff is friendly but keeps a distance so the diner is the focus. Keep in mind that there is happy hour from 3-7 with appetizers and drink specials. Wine by the bottle is less on Tuesdays. read more

My wife and I come here often and enjoy the food, atmosphere, and service. They have the same owners as Lazlo's so they understand what people want and that is consistency on their entrees and they achieve that and then some. Over priced. Had the Italian beef. There was more bread than anything and the giardiniera had a bland taste, like they just cut up veggies and through it on top. They should of just went to Hy-Vee and got the Chicago style giardiniera cause it would of been a lot better. It was my first time ever ordering an Italian beef and still being hungry afterward. We used to go to fireworks at least 4 nights a week. Over the past year or so it has slowly gone down hill. Now they have total incompetent front desk staff. Since this is a sister restaurant to Lazlo's, everything I've said about Lazlo's applies to Fireworks. Same list of Empyrean ales, etc. However, here most everything is wood-fired, including the scrumptious apple tart dessert. You can get a reasonable selection of wood-fired pizzas unavailable at Lazlo's. And the same Omaha steaks offered at Lazlo's are done over hickory here. Both restaurants have very attentive and helpful wait staff, who tend but don't hover. Both places have daily specials, often with fish. However, since we are visiting beef country, my wife and I have stuck to all the variations of beef, including steak, prime rib, brisket, and burgers. The sides and salad dressings at each restaurant also differ slightly- so each has a distinctiveness despite similarities. We sat in the enclosed patio which offered a nice meadow view and was quieter than inside - a relief after a day of Special Olympics events. Should I ever find myself in Lincoln again , this is amust-visit. read more

The smashed potatoes were a bit dry and the service was mediocre. We had to ask a few times for refills and waters for the table. We tried this place for the first time a few weeks ago during our trip out to the area. We were with a group of 8 most of whom had been there at least once. The decor was nice and more of a smoekhouse type of feel. The service was very good. I had the Roasted Chicken Penang. This was a different twist on one the rotisserie chicken offerings. it was smothered in a sweet and spicy Thai curry sauce, with fresh basil and crushed peanuts and it came witha choice of two sides. It was very good and all of the listed flavors came through but none were overpwering and it was not spicy hot to me. I had mine with a loaded baked potato and clow slaw both of which were very good especially the slaw. Everyone else in the party went for burgers or salads. The comments were all posative and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. If you are looking for a casual and inexpensive night out this is a good place with a large menu so everyone should be able to find something good to eat. I would come back and explore some of the steak and other items as for me there are many appealing choices. read more

Several weeks ago, we went to Fireworks for a late dinner. I've been to this establishment many times and the food usually was good. But this time was different. Even though our wait staff members were pleasant and friendly, they also were disorganized and dishonest. My food was OK but the main course was brought to our table too soon (since we were not finished with our salads). My girlfriend's food was improperly prepared and she asked to have it redone. Her food was brought back a bit later and it was still not prepared as she had requested. We gave up....finished the "meal" and left. Great food, reasonable prices, and all sorts of wonderful things. The atmosphere was lovely, and quite intimate for an evening dinner. Though we did notice some groups around too. At first we didn't know if we were going to get an appetizer, but we decided why not? When the server was listing off different appetizers he said the flat bread. And we thought... why not!? And wow! It took a little getting used to for us, with the dip that came with it, but it was really very good. My boyfriend got the Cuban Sandwich with a baked potato, and the said it was quite good. As for me, i got the 8 oz Top Sirloin with red potatoes and macaroni and cheese. it was all so very amazing. the house salad was a little... odd. It tasted good, and featured cold green beans, and corn (...different). But it had almost a spicy feeling to it. It was quite odd. But not bad. The main dish though, was sublime. The steak was a little rare (medium was requested), but it was so good, it was quite quickly forgiven. The waiter was knowledgeable, the strawberry lemonade was refreshing, and the over all experience left me more than comfortably full. I made sure and got a frequent dinner card.
