I am writing this review having just received the court…read moredismissal paperwork confirming that after dragging me through months of disputes, regulatory complaints, and litigation, they settled for exactly what I offered them from the very beginning. Let that sink in. Here is what this company put me through to arrive at the same outcome we could have reached a year earlier: I signed a contract in October 2024 with a completion date of November 15, 2024. They took my deposit immediately and then disappeared. For months I had no functioning bathroom and received zero communication from SERVPRO despite my repeated attempts to reach them. They never told me their project manager had died and simply let my project collect dust while I waited. Months of silence. No reassignment. No accountability. Nothing. When they finally showed up, the tile work was so bad it had to be torn out and redone multiple times. We are talking about a professional restoration company that could not install basic tile correctly on the first attempt, or the second. The photographic evidence of their workmanship is genuinely embarrassing. When I raised these issues and pushed back on the final invoice, which arrived six months after the contracted completion date and included charges I was never invoiced for during the project, they responded by threatening me with attorney fees, late fees, and legal action. Then they actually followed through and filed suit against me in court, represented by an attorney, apparently convinced they could bully me into paying in full for a job they delivered five months late and half wrong. They were wrong. I filed complaints with the Maryland Office of the Attorney General and the Maryland Home Improvement Commission, prepared a full defense, and was ready to walk into that courtroom. Case No. D-01-CV-26-019615, District Court of Maryland for Baltimore City. Look it up. They dismissed the case and settled for the $2,000 I had been offering them for over a year. The same number I put on the table long before lawyers, court filings, and months of stress were ever involved. They chose every single one of those steps rather than simply do the right thing. This company will take your money, vanish, deliver substandard work, blame you for their failures, threaten you with litigation, and ultimately fold the moment you stand your ground. The only reason to hire SERVPRO of Howard County is if you enjoy fighting for basic accountability from people you are paying to do a job. There are honest, professional contractors in Baltimore. Find one of them instead.

The pots were at least 10 feet from the edge of the overhang, so I'm not sure how they were so significantly damaged when other things were not. It almost looks like they covered some plants but not others. They could have easily moved the potted plants out of the way, so I wonder why they didn't do that. In addition, the smell of the wash is very strong inside my house. I'm not sure if that's because the solution got into the windows or because it somehow got into the AC system. Whatever happened, it's very strong to the point of making my eyes burn when I'm upstairs. Again, I don't know if that's just a product of the process or a function of how well sealed my home is. I might have planned to be away from my house for a while had I expected that. I have a chronic lung issue, so maybe I'm just overly sensitive. These are not complaints, per se, but I wish I had known to expect these impacts so I could have planned differently. I have hired many, many contractors in my life. I have never experienced working with a company as…read moreunprofessional or incompetent as Superior Softwash. The estimator, Chris, came out to our home to give us a quote for: remove previous deck stain, sand the deck and prepare for new stain, stain the deck, and softwash the vinyl siding of our townhome. At no point was pressure washing discussed. I specifically sought out a softwashing company as it seemed like they understood chemical and gentler methods to treat our wood deck. Chris was extremely professional, seemed knowledgeable, and walked me through the process of the deck preparation and softwashing of our house. This deck was built 5 years ago so still relatively new, and in great condition except for some mild algal growth on the boards. Because of the great estimate process, we went with Superior Softwash's quote. It was on the higher end but I felt confident it was a great choice. It was not. The two guys that came out to work on our deck were unprofessional, not informed about the job they were actually doing, and didn't have the supplies needed. I unfortunately had to go to work and left them alone on our property. That turned out to be a huge mistake. They stripped the previous deck stain using a powerwasher on high pressure-- exclusively. There was no other method used. As a result, the wood was basically destroyed. We were left with fuzzing everywhere, deep gouges, and trenched wood. This is not damage that is easy or cheap to repair. On top of that, they made an enormous mess of our property. There is deck stain flung everywhere, including on our neighbors' homes and yards. The workers even stood on our neighbor's plastic shed and damaged their property as well. My garden was destroyed. These were not professionals trained to do this job. They didn't even really know what job they were doing. Communicating with this company was a nightmare from start to finish. The left hand never seemed to know what the right hand was doing. I have never in my life been given the runaround like I received from this company. I was blown off, ignored, and gaslit. They scheduled an appointment to "assess" the damage to my deck and they literally no-call no-showed that appointment and it still took me nearly a full day to reach someone AFTER that. After the significant damage to our valuable deck, I stopped all work on the project. For full disclosure, I ended up receiving a full refund of the deposit paid on this job. That refund was not easy to get and I fear that anyone less persistent than I was would be left completely in the cold by this company. They did not want to issue a refund and tried to ghost me repeatedly until I used the words "filing a complaint with the Maryland Home Improvement Commission". It is not nearly enough to compensate for the extensive damage done. We are now in process with a deck remediation company to try to salvage our deck but it will never be the same. At the end of this, we will be out significantly more out of pocket than if this had been done correctly in the first place. This entire experience was miserable, stressful, and ridiculous. Do yourself a favor and never, ever do business with these people. Luckily, they put up a sign in our yard that said SUPERIOR SOFTWASH in big letters so now all of our neighbors know who not to hire because anyone with eyes can see that they absolutely trashed our deck.

One of the bricks is higher then the others and is not leveled. The company sent out some others to see thw issue. However, the individuals chipped and cracked a brick, cracked up mortar creating a hole and cracks, thus noone has returned as promised. I will reach back out to the company as well. fast, efficient, professional. removed asbestos tile from entire lower floor of an older house…read more (kitchen, living room, two bedrooms, utility room). price was on the lower end of the estimates we got, but we chose them because of their prompt replies and experience in asbestos removal. we emptied had emptied out the house and were really ready to get the ball rolling and they squeezed us in within a week, and their crew took two days to complete the job. they were the second company to book an in-person visit and get us a written estimate, plus they were very responsive to calls and emails. seemed an excellent value for an experienced crew. they sealed area off with plastic and negative air pressure, and used a wet method to remove the tile (thereby avoiding dust). after tile removal, they sealed the concrete subfloor with to trap the remaining mastic residue that was stuck on the concrete. the sealant was almost like a rubbery latex paint (we later installed a vapor barrier and vinyl plank to finish the floor). afterwards there was a strong smell of the sovent and the sealant they used and it took several days of airing out for this to mellow. it smelled like pine or turpentine. no damage, but there were quite a few staples left in the wall from when they installed the plastic barriers-- very inconsequential and easy to remove. we had planned for repainting the walls anyway. realistically one of the best experiences with a big job using a contractor like this!
