Popped in for a smog check this afternoon with no appointment. George came out to greet me, took my car in right away, then brought me an ice-cold Coke while I was in the waiting room. I have taken two cars here for smog, the test was fast , easy, and the manager, Harold was very honest about all the things that were wrong (first car did not pass visual test), all in all, the process was done very professionally nd the price was great! I went to First Class Smog today. Little do I know that if the engine light is lit, my car will not pass the smog check. George went ahead to do the smog check. When he was done, he handed me the paper to sign for $45 service, smog certificate inclusive. I purchased a Groupon voucher online for $28, so he reprinted the bill, I noticed $7.75 Groupon processing fee, and $8.25 for a smog certificate. So, $16 + $28 = $44. Since the service is $45, I don't see the point of getting a Groupon voucher with $1 off. Second, George didn't tell me I will not pass the smog check after noticing the engine light and went ahead to do the test. It was a lot of time spent for nothing as well. I then went to a car shop I know in Norwalk, shop owner reset my engine light, send over to the smog check right beside his shop and I passed. George's dishonesty would let me think twice of going to his smog station again, he made business for one time and this is it. I feel obligated to post this for people's reference. read more
