Like many of you, we're all getting frustrated with the raising costs of our network providers. I recently bounced from Comcast to Spectrum for my internet and phone but was unable to get an alarm system with them. I did contact ADT Security and found them to be just as "pricey" as Xfinity/Comcast. I was lucky to find an Independent Alarm company right here in the villages with a monthly monitoring fee of ONLY $ 27 a month. That did not include the installation fee, of course, but I felt long term it was well worth it. The name of the company is Village Alarm, 8241 SE 135th Street, Summerfield. Their phone # is 352-446-0278. I dealt directly with the owner, his name is Andre. He was absolutely WONDERFUL. He was kind enough to spend the time on the phone with me to give me an approximate cost for installation and how long the install would take. He was also here during the installation process today along with another gentleman, Dave. They were both extremely professional, courteous and respectful. It did not feel intrusive at all, barely even knew they were here. Please contact them if you are considering a home alarm system. They do camera installations as well. He had one on the rack and was able to score it enough in the lock to get it to work. Had I not had the picture of the key he said it could have taken 3 hours. He charged me $42, with 2 keys and I thought it was a little high since I helped with the key type but went with it. Anyhow, happy to be able to use the rails.

Dan of All Trades referred by HELLOTECH Tech arrived half…read morehour late (we were informed of this just prior to his arrival time). When he arrived and looked at the TV he said under his breath, "well, they gypped me on this one". He then told me I would have to help him move the TV and we placed it on the floor and he proceeded to take off the legs. He then shook the wall the TV was to be mounted on and asked if the house we built after 2006. I said no it was 2003. He said that were would be an up-charge from 169 to 238 dollars. He asked if I wanted to go ahead and I said I felt trapped since my TV as laying on the floor without its legs. He said he would let HelloTech know of my displeasure. It turns out that his measurements were off and when the TV was hung, the sound bar would not fit under the TV. The sound bar then was sitting in front of the remote IR device and blocked the signal from my remote so it would not work. The sound bar now has to sit off center in order for the remote to work. The Techs solutions was for me to buy an IR extender to fix the problem. The TECH was coughing and hacking the whole time he was in my house. He was wearing a mask that covered his mouth and not his nose. The last thing he did before leaving was to give me his card and told me to call him directly for future work instead of going through HelloTech. It is my intent to use whatever social, news and neighborhood media platforms there are to let my communities know about my dissatisfaction with your company and the Tech
