Each time we have had First Impressions build our security doors and entry gates. We absolutely love their products. I believe that First Impressions is under new ownership in the past few years and since that time, we've noticed a marked improvement in their doors--not that they weren't always nice. My husband and I would never use any other custom, iron door company. Folks in northern Arizona, if you're considering adding an iron front door, security door, gates etc., you absolutely should consult with First Impressions before ever making a final decision. You won't regret it! Before settling permanently in Prescott, we bought a summer place in Prescott Valley, AZ. My first experience with a local security door company was less than ideal and their product didn't come close to the choices and quality of First Impressions products. Then I called First Impressions and was so relieved to find that they do in fact service the Tri-City area. They built me a beautiful door for my Prescott Valley home. They now have built me 3 security doors and a lovely entry gate in Prescott. We ordered a door from Gary at the Mesa Market 2 months ago. We gave him a deposit and told him we needed it by 20th of March to take it back to Utah. Well......called today because we haven't had any contact saying production has been started like he said we would. He hasn't even ordered the glass and now says we won't get it . Jenny was extremely rude, Victor who was supposedly a manger clueless. Victor transferred me to Michele who was supposed to give us a time frame and she told us "oh the tech will call you with that information" Chris the sales person wanted nothing to do with us or the issue. We worked with Design Sales Consultant Shaye Herriford, who was excellent. He gave us a tour of their manufacturing facility, helped us choose a double RV gate which is pool code compliant and looks lovely with our home. First Impression Ironworks does first class work and is pricey, but the quality and warranty make it worth it. We chose a bronze powder coat finish for our iron gate with composite wood for low maintenance and long life. Shaye is honest, a great communicator, friendly, kind, personable, and knowledgeable. First off... the courtyard gate we had purchased from them is very nice but that is where it ends. Salesman did a great job on sales tabout how great the company is and that it is veteran owned and operated. They are definitely not the cheapest and in our review of companies in fact they were the most expensive by as much as 3x Our main objective was to have an Auto closing gate with a scrubber off the bottom to keep snakes out as well as a mesh screen high enough to keep snakes out. "No problem" the salesman said as "we can do both as our gates are custom made". There is About a 2 inch difference between one side of gate and the other side of the gate. Scrubber does not extend all the way to pavement which allows room for snakes to get in. Seems that a custom gate could have easily had the rubber scrubber, aluminum attachment, cut, and an angle for more appropriate alignment. I brought this up with my salesman. He said, perhaps your landscaper could raise the pavement. The company/salesman appear to tell you whatever you want to hear to get the sale, but then don't follow through. Tried to use separate conversation between myself and my wife. He went so far to say "I talk to your wife about it". My wife had no conversation with him on this, but it was an easy fallback for them. Do yourself a favor and Skip themore expensive "custom gate" with this company and go with a gate 1/3 the price and get exactly what you want. Sad news is we were going to use them for our front door but definitely will shop other places as they do not follow through on what they tell you. I would highly advise recording any conversations with them and have everything else additionally added to an addendum on the contract. I would also recommend not paying in advance for the gate because you have no recourse when the gate or design does that meet the standards agreed upon. They did ultimately come back with a fix for an additional charge. The additional charge is not the issue. It is more or less the principle of the thing. When the installer came back, the gentleman told us that they frequently put these "expanders" on these gates. So it is obvious to us that Something could've been easily fixed from the beginning and no charge to us as a customer considering the price we we paid for the gate I'm trust the additional $161 first impression ironworks charged us was well worth the loss of a customer. read more

I met them at the Home and Garden Show last weekend and tried to get a ballpark cost from them with measurements in hand. They said we HAD to schedule an appointment no rough estimate was possible. I agreed because they came highly recommended by friends. I got my yellow carbon copy of my appointment sheet and to my surprise no one showed up today. I purchased a gate from them a few years ago, so I was happy to go back to them for a second gate. The "design/sales" person showed up in the window of time given, took pictures and measurements. We discussed what I was looking for and that I wanted to match the other gate as closely as possible. She then told me I would hear back from her in 2 or 3 days. Well, after 2 weeks of hearing nothing I received an email with the "soft" quote. She informed me they had a few people out with Covid and that was why it took so long. Not really an apology for being forgotten about, just an excuse. I then contacted customer support and that person refused to give me the contact information for someone to talk to about my experience. It was like being on a Merry Go Round. Round and round we went and no answer was forthcoming to my very simple question of, "whom can I speak to about my poor experience with your company?" Very sad, but I will never do business with them and like all upset customer will tell EVERYONE that I know about my experience. read more

We paid for This front entrance "iron" gate a little over 2 years ago ( before pandemic) and upon ordering it we were told it's life time warrantied! after 2 years it's rusted, paint chipped and looks like an old rusted gate! We called and they said: we will send you fresh paint to touch it up and you are passed warranty! I guess they forgot we were and still going through a pandemic, stores were closed last year and me as a health care worker was focusing on sick Covid patients rather than a rusted gate! A good quality powder coatEd wrought iron gate should last a lifetime! Wrought iron s an iron metal and prone to rust! Apparently what they made this gate out of it is not a pure wrought! and just be aware. This iron Steel coated gate should not rust under any circumstances, rain nor sun especially dry climate in AZ. Once we made out selections the games began, the price kept changing, first a soft quote l, then our door wasn't "standard" up charge, needed a bumped out frame up charge, change direction of the swing up charge.
