We bought our house that had a Steel Shield door on it from 2001. The lever handle need to be replaced and we searched high and low for a new handle that would fit and nobody anywhere had one. There was a wait for the manufacturing but when they were in, they got them installed quickly. There were a couple of aesthetic issues that were handled immediately. I was quite impressed. We've had our security doors for almost a year now. Couldn't be more pleased. The doors are solid, lock into the doorframe and have dual bolt locks. Oh yeah, and the gf says they're "pretty". With the increasing crime that comes with big city life, we are at ease knowing the added security these doors give. I initiated my consultation with a contractor named Tom Larson. He was professional, informative, friendly, and gave me all the information that I needed. I selected the horizon door, with brushed nickel hardware, in Penny vein. It took about 6 to 8 weeks for the installation to be scheduled, and it just took place today. A young man by the name of Buzz showed up on a Saturday, he was extremely friendly, polite, professional, and skilled. He installed the door in less than two hours, and showed me all of the aspects that I needed to know. I feel immediately safer, being that it requires a key to lock from the inside and the outside. I was left with a couple of magnetic wreath hooks which was the highlight on the top of this wonderful door experience. From beginning to end this company responded with friendliness, accuracy and estimations of time frames, and did a beautiful job of installing this beautiful security door. The salesman was awesome. The door looks fantastic... Why not the 5 stars. Installation day was pretty bad. Josie called and spoke to my wife on speaker and stated our installation window was 7am to 9am. I called a little after 9 to see if the installer was running later. I got a call back stating my installation window that they had was 11am to 1pm. Cool... I was able to move my hair appointment to later in the afternoon. 9:30 rolls around and decide to take a shower. At about 9:35 my dogs go ballistic . I quickly rinse and dry off and low and behold the installer is here. It's just frustrating that we were given a time and made plans. It just frustrates me that if I was truly the 11am to 1pm, why wouldn't they have given me a call saying they were going to be an hour and a half early. read more

We just had Steel Shield install a screened double door which encloses our front door entry way. These doors are magnificent! And, no lie, the enclosed area has to be 20° cooler since installed. BONUS!!! Sean was our sales guy that met with us for the quote and was very patient as we (hubby & I) had a bit of tug-o-war on which ones to get. I let hubby win the battle and I'm glad I did! The doors are so pretty and the color matches our front door perfectly. I am giving two starts for the workers who measured and installed the doors, they were great. The doors are lovely. The problem is that the lock does not comply with local building code. Code in our area states that an egress door must open to the outside AND be able to be operated from the inside without the use of a key. Mine requires a key to unlock from the inside. The building code office explained to me that in the event of a fire, delays to unlock the door could prove fatal. I called the company and got the owner, David. He was argumentative, but ultimately offered to send me the lock. He noted that code differs from one region to the next and he is aware that this is prohibited in some areas, but went on to say that this is a security door and if there were no lock on the inside he did not view it as secure. I noted that this does not meet code, and he still has to comply with code, and I felt that since he knowingly installed a door out of compliance he should be responsible for replacing the lock. Then, in a subsequent email dated 12/16/2022 at 9:40 a.m. he stated: David Camacho Fri, Dec 16, 2022, 9:40 AM to me I will come out and take care of the lock for you. It will be the week after Christmas if that's ok This was the last I heard from him. I sent a follow up email and he failed to respond. I am needing to put my house on the market, and the lock just needs to be replaced. After spending $5,000 between the front door and a matching RV gate, it appears that he now wants me to find someone else to fix his error and to incur full cost so he will not have to be bothered. I would not recommend this company. read more

Sean, the sales consultant arrived on time, and showed me all the Security Screen Doors and available features. Since, this door was to go on the backdoor on the carport, I didn't need a fancy door. However, they were able to come close to matching the front SSD in design for $200.00 less than what the high priced guy wanted. And, the hardware really surprised me. It's much fancier than what I have on the front SSD. So, I've made arrangements to have new hardware put on the other door. Josie, the office manager, was very helpful, and punctual in responding to E-mails, and phone calls. However, the reason I can't give 5 Stars is because I was told 6 to 7 weeks, and it took 9 weeks and 2 days before the door was installed. After installation, the inside door wasn't closing properly. But, the tech got that fixed without any problem. :) GREAT JOB, guys. It's been great to have both doors open to be able to air out the house, and get a nice cross-breeze without having to worry about bugs, or unwanted people, getting in. read more

First off I absolutely love the security doors Looks awesome -feels like they will stop a tank And in this crazy day and age they better The guy that installed them was great - when I called in they were always nice in letting me know the status My only issue is with the follow up from my sales guy I guess he's the only one for the east valley - I had one small issue --not really an issue I just had a question on disengaging the part that keeps the door from opening real wide - John never got back to me but I figured it out- and the guy who installed the doors did show me I just forgot But then John got upset when I said I was going to finance - did not like that at all so ......because he's so old I just let it go and paid cash John is nice but i do I feel bad but I'd try to get a hold of him inquiring about one more door for my garage and security screens for my home --- he did just get back to me yesterday So if you are considering security doors they are awesome e and worth it but just be patient with the sales guy Otherwise 10 stars I finally called into the main office and he called me back and I did get numbers but then he just hung up !?
