Our resident manager recommended First Onsite. So thankful to have Julie Nguyen(First Onsite) respond so quickly and guide me through a pipe leak from an above unit. Her guidance and knowledge was exactly what I needed to deal with the confusion from property management company, insurance from unit above, and plumbers. She got us all on the same page! Since the leak did not come from our pipes, Julie worked with the property managing company and insurance company directly. First Onsite's crew brought in dehumidifiers right away. The office, technicians, restoration techs, and plumbers were courteous knowledgeable. They all explained what would be done daily and did a great job. Thanks again First Onsite!

These guys are awesome! The apartment above us flooded and the water came through our ceiling, walls, and floors. Interstate took care of the water mitigation, demo, clean up, and repair. All in one company that ensured the floors and walls were dried and free of mold. Daryl, Dennis and guys came every day to check on the drying progress and moved the the fans and dehumidifiers as needed. They kept us informed and explained exactly what they were doing through the process. Welton came out as soon as possible and provided our insurance with a decent estimate of damage to our insurance company. He was very professional and very helpful throughout the entire process. Cory and the guys who repaired the floors, baseboards, walls, and paint did a truly amazing job as well. While we're we're out of town on a pre-planned trip, Cory and his team made sure we came home to a completely finished apartment! Better than what it was before! We did find one small issue with one of the floor planks, and Cory and a few technicians came out right away and fixed it immediately. I would definitely hire this company again!! You should, too!

Kudos to the team at Interstate Restoration that renovated our home after my refrigerator's water/ice maker system failed, causing water damage to our upstairs living room, kitchen areas and adjoining basement ceiling. Led by project manager Cory, Interstate's crew consisted of Tony and Glenn who replaced sections of the basement ceiling, painted it, and added an orange peel texture. This job was done in a day and a half and in a very efficient manner. The bigger job occurred upstairs in which new tile was installed in the kitchen, and living, dining room and hallway areas. Cory was patient with us as we took some time to select the tile and grout for the living/dining/hallway areas, along with laminate for two sets of stairs. This tile installation was handled by Jeremiah, Chris S. and a few other employees over a nearly two-week period (minus one holiday). They would arrive to work on time and even occasionally stayed late to accommodate our schedule. They also kept us in the loop as questions and issues came about, allowing us to choose a direction without being rushed or pushed into a decision. It was great to see daily progress, including backer board being nailed to the subfloor, the actual rows of tile on top, and the final baseboards. In the end, we are very happy with our renovated basement ceiling, and upstairs tile floors. Hats off again to the Interstate Restoration team for their professionalism, craftsmanship and efficiency in handle this large project. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your next restoration/construction project.

Last week, I reached out to the company regarding a water leak issue and explained our situation. The customer service representative was very accommodating--she took my information and advised that a project manager would be in touch. I didn't have to wait long at all. PM Andy called me shortly after and scheduled an immediate inspection of our home. Although Andy could have scheduled us for a later date, he sensed the urgency of our situation and was kind enough to work around my availability. He came first thing in the morning shortly after our initial call. I was extremely impressed and grateful for the company's fast response. Andy kept an open line of communication, patiently answering all our questions and guiding us on next steps while we were completely clueless about the process. Today, I wasn't expecting another call from MD Restoration, but my husband had been in contact with Andy, who helped us get the dehumidifier scheduled. Around a little past 3 p.m., Yonell called me. I missed her first call, but she left a voicemail and followed up just minutes later. When I answered, Yonell was truly a breath of fresh air. After a long workday, her jolly and upbeat personality helped me de-stress immediately. Even though it was near the end of the day, she was still lively, positive, and a pleasure to speak with. She promptly scheduled herself and her team to come out right away with the necessary equipment for dehumidification of our Mikasa. Yonell arrived exactly as scheduled, and she and her partner completed their tasks efficiently. What made the experience truly memorable was her exceptional customer service--fun and lively, yet still professional. I genuinely enjoyed working with her and wouldn't mind working with her again. Overall, our experience with MD Restoration has been far beyond good -- it's been great. They've helped put both my husband and me at ease during a stressful water leak situation. Thank you so much!

The bathroom was a new renovation done just before we moved in. A plumber came in and had to demo the entire base of the shower and cut a hole in the kitchen ceiling to repair the issues. He mentioned a bacterial smell. I called our landlord to request a mold inspection and MD was over the very next day. They have all the tools to assess the moisture leve and indicated that it was necessary to use two large dehumidifiers to dry out the mess. Lua is excellent! She explained the situation and plan of action and was extremely sympathetic toward our chaos. She told me that she would be checking back every couple of days and that I could expect to see her for sure. I find this to be really reassuring that I knew I would be able to expect a friendly, familiar face. She returned today and did all the necessary checks and determined that the dehumidifiers had done their job and we could get them out. I'm really pleased with their professionalism, timely response, efficiency with their work, and clear communication. I definitely recommend working with them and cross your fingers that Lua is the one on the job!

Estimates took over three months to calculate for a small apartment bathroom, which I suspect was nothing more than them dilly dallying as they immediately started when our manager sent them a strongly worded letter. There was a leak from the unit above, and the unit called this establishment. The unit's bathroom toilet pipe had been leaking and seeped into the walls and cabinets with mold starting to grow. Rescue One advised us not to remove the cabinets, so we left them on. Repair didn't start until THREE MONTHS LATER. They kept making excuses about how they were calculating stuff, etc... and we still had moldy cabinets on the walls, drenched in sewer water. Repairs finally began and they dropped the drywall they brought in, which broke. They tried to cover it up and told us that nothing was wrong when we asked. They left scratches on the walls, chips around the door frames, bathtub, and bathroom. They also installed the toilet bowl incorrectly, and the person surveying it looked annoyed when we mentioned it to them. They told us that the toilet roll holder was salvageable but the cabinets were not, so we bought a new cabinet but not a toilet roll holder. When everything was finished, we realized that they had silently replaced the old toilet roll holders with some cheap ones (which they later charged us for), which were placed so high up because the repairman was over six feet tall and didn't think to ask us (5 feet people) where we wanted it to be. When I sat on the toilet, the holder came up to my HEAD. The medicine cabinet was also placed too high (and crooked). We could hardly see our head in the mirror from how high they placed it and we had to ask that they redo it, which they looked extremely irritated and annoyed at. However, it was the repairman who came in and did everything without ever asking us about it, so whose fault was that, really?

Careless Work After Asbestos Removal -- Damaged My Renovated Home…read more I hired this company for asbestos removal. The ceiling removal and painting were done well, but everything else was handled with no care at all. My home was fully renovated before the project, and now I'm left with damages everywhere. The walls near the ceiling were scratched, and they tried to cover it up with paint that's a different shade of white, which made it even more noticeable. My door is chipped, and they stapled into my wood floors without removing the staples. The bathtub coating is peeling and chipped in multiple spots (see photos). It was in perfect condition before, so it's clear they didn't protect the area during the work. I've already spent 6 hours just touching up the walls, and I still haven't even started fixing the bathtub damage. For a company dealing with something as sensitive as asbestos, I expected professionalism and care -- instead, I'm left with frustration and extra work. I would only recommend this company if you don't care about anything else except the one thing you hired them for. Otherwise, be prepared to spend your own time fixing the mess they leave behind.

I had several issues with this company. Do not waste your time or money…read more Context: We need to repaint our home due to HOA requirements, and I reached out to 9 contractors across Oahu, including Handy Andy. 1/ They were the ONLY ones to charge a fee for an "on-site visit," i.e., just viewing our property and drafting an estimate. The charge was $175 and was "applied as credit" for the job; otherwise, if we don't move forward with them, it would be non-refundable, which is already a scam because of problem number 2. 2/ Between the 9 contractors, the quotes for the SAME painting job of our house I received were between the range of $6100 to $7800 AND exactly one at $16,073. Handy Andy quoted nearly DOUBLE what every single licensed painting contractor and company I reached out to is charging as of 2026. They articulated in their quote that they would try and price match any licensed contractor, but why would we trust them when they are so far from the average, and they are not transparent about what paint they're using, which would help us discern the quality? (see number 4) So now they keep the $175 for stopping by our house for 10 minutes, because there would be no way we would go with them after doing our research. I will note that I understand gas can be expensive, so I would not have minded paying a smaller fee for the trip to subsidize that cost, despite no one else charging us, but there is no way it cost $175 to send their intern (see item number 5). 3/ Every single contractor except for Handy Andy included minor wood repairs, chips, etc within the total cost, still not exceeding $8000, which was not the case and came at an additional cost to us. 4/ Every single contractor, within their quote, provided the exact paint they were planning to use, which helped us discern the quality of paint (For reference, the highest tier, the Ultra Premium option from Sherwin-Williams Rain Refresh, was quoted at $7400 in total for us), but Handy Andy did not include this information in their quote which would directly help us understand the value of what we are paying for. 5/ For the onsite visit (which they had to postpone for the following day after I had already changed my plans to accommodate their timing), every single company/contractor I called, the person who was either going to paint the house, owned the company or be part of the team that was going to paint showed up... except for Handy Andy. This young individual showed up to do the assessment. He said he was their scout and would not do any part of the actual paint and repair job. I asked him basic questions about priming and caulking, and brought up questions and concerns, particularly moisture treating, because Oahu is obviously very hot and humid, and he was unable to answer, often saying, "I'm not sure I know what that is, but I will get back to you." Considering I paid $175 for this individual, I would expect him to know the basic requirements of homes here. Overall, my husband and I are very upset that we spent $175 just to get a quote that was double the going rate on the island, and we feel like we were scammed. Don't waste your time!
