Salt has a variety of classes for people of all levels. They regularly have events and local…read morebusinesses in the studio- last week I got a bunch of free shirts and a b12 shot! Their spin/cycle room is sectioned off by a blackout curtain to keep you in the zone. The music is loud and lights stay low plus some fun candles and such. I believe the instructors may reuse playlists or just wing it for a couple of songs so if you're a regular you may notice this. You can see yourself in the mirror of most bikes. They do ride to the beat and do not use metrics. There's about 15 bikes that are first come first serve. No formal checkin other than saying hello to the instructor. Excited to have them here!

I took a HIIT circuit class at Salt Fitness while on vacation, looking for a challenging workout…read more The instructor was friendly and helpful showing me around the studio. The circuit moves are displayed on a whiteboard at the front of the class so you can keep track of what you're supposed to be doing. However, the baseline level of this class is definitely not the "intense" workout they claim it to be. The weights put out by the instructor were VERY light for some of the moves (ex. - one 20 lb dumbbell for b-stance deadlifts, a 15 lb db for snatches). I know HIIT classes are not good for building strength, but it seems like they should be challenging their regulars more than this. I didn't see the instructor encourage anyone to pick up a heavier weight. Luckily, they had heavier dumbbells on the side of the room available to swap out, so you can make this workout as challenging as you want it to be. The format itself is great - twice through the circuit, 8 60-second strength moves with about a 30-second cardio or core move and then a 30-second short rest in between. TL;DR: If you are looking for a programmed workout and are comfortable modifying moves/swapping out weights, this is a great drop-in studio.

It took nearly less than 45 min to get there from Parkville. I was early because I failed to have read the invite... oops , but I thought I was late. Before entry, I was able to safely walk around the parking lot. The facility is located in the industrial park of Windsor Mill. Approximately after 7:15p, the small group was able to enter. We were given a link to complete the waiver, but grateful they did provide extras, since I forgor mine due to rushing out the door. In the lobby, the lovely birthday hostess, had a nice set up of healthy snacks, water, and some other sweet treats for later. We were escorted to the exercise area, where the bikes were in the back. Each bike was socially distanced and each guest was provide a towel (nice touch), water, hand sanitizer, and a mask. The instructor and assistant made sure each participant knew how to operate the bikes, and set up their seats and settings. I was worried about the cushion, and so the assistant provided a seat pad. We were told to get ready and then introduced to the instructor, the DJ, and even had the opportunity to say hi to those that were participating from home. Once the music started we cheered on the birthday lady and then the party began. We were encouraged to go at our own pace but keep going. Being my first time, I was able to somewhat keep up with the regulars with minor modifications. I only stopped a few times to adjust my shoes, my seat and to drink some water. This was an awesome party! The music was a tad too loud. I could barely hear the instructor, so I had to rely on looking at the other participants for help. The entire class was awesome. The only thing for me being a plus size woman, I need a special seat, because my rear was really sore. Would I do this again? Yes Do I highly recommend this place? Yes
