Came here for dinner on a weekend night and this place was packed - quite busy, but we got a table for 6+ of us without much issue! The place was loud and lively - great ambiance for watching a sports game or a casual night out. Menu had typical Americana and good came out in a reasonable amount of time - overall, solid food and drinks. The sandwich I got was a bit expensive and the salad was nothing special, but otherwise it was a nice experience. It saddens me to have to leave a bad review, since I frequent this place quite often... but the quality of their to-go orders has gotten so bad. In-house we haven't had much issue, but I don't know what's going on with door dash/delivery orders. Almost every time, there's an issue. My littles absolutely love the mini corn dogs, and even though the listing says "with fries" they've suddenly stopped delivering with fries for the past few months ( and don't allow customer notes.) It's also a 50/50 chance the mini corn dogs will be dark and hard... I have a sensitive stomach with dietary restrictions, so I find great comfort that I can get the seared ahi tuna tacos while my husband enjoys a hamburger... but the last few orders have been so wrong. Once I was missing avocado, next I was missing the sauce, and this time my tuna was completely raw, not seared with hard jasmine rice and very tiny avocado slices. I always put input in to DoorDash, but I don't think it's getting to the restaurant... and it's reached a point where I feel like I have to leave this review and maybe find a new go to for quick family dinners. Offered menus and my husband ordered a beer while I went restroom. This week's GC was Jalapeño Popper. So glad we split, with a side of onion rings. I enjoyed my dinner at First Street Alehouse! I really love how the place is so customizable - I've never been to a place with such adaptable burger options. I got the Alehouse Original Burger and I got it as a turkey burger with Swiss cheese - it was yummy and the portion was very generous. My friends all enjoyed their meals too. The place has a nice Western tavern vibe - it's lively and feels comforting and familiar. The service was great - the food came out very quick and our server was so lovely. Calamari cooked right is one of my favorites! Stopped by for an order to go. After learning the fish and chips are not made fresh here (frozen) I opted for the calamari. The waitress- (Silvia or Sheila) lovely. Atmosphere very good. Calamari? Gag me. Dry with a weird batter- almost like corn chips? How is that possible? Never ever again. Don't order the calamari for 16.00. Just wrong to serve that. As I was leaving Sheila checked in with since I didn't eat the calamari. She encouraged me to order something else and credited my card. Kevin the manager was just as polite and very cool as well. The burger was very big and good. In all, the staff made the difference. Our family was in the area looking for a sports bar pub to watch the 49ers vs Rams game. We decided to eat and watch the game at First Street Alehouse. We arrived for a Sunday lunch at the restaurant recently. First Street Alehouse is located in a nice area in bustling downtown Livermore. There is accessible parking available in the back parking lot and street. The restaurant is spacious and has traditional modern pub decor. There is a variety of beer can displays and keg handles all around the walls. TVs are all around the bar area which makes this a great environment to watch football. We ordered a pork carnitas sandwich, Rueben sandwich, and a kids chicken tenders. Everything was delicious. My carnitas sandwich was scrumptious with every bite. The wifey's Rueben sandwich was also tasty especially with the extra 1000 island dressing dipping sauce. The beer battered fries was nice and crispy. Overall we enjoyed our experience at First Street Alehouse. The service was friendly and accommodating. There was a family friendly vibe and a local spot favorite feel to it. First Street has a strong hold on its customer base, lots of people rotate into this convenient spot. Food is okay. Drinks could use a rotation but you know what type of food you're getting situated in a very large sized restaurant that's a fun atmosphere. I just want to let you know, if you drink beer there is a bar tender who takes already poured beers (7 at that time last night) straight out of the fridge and serves it to you at full price! I'm assuming that they disappeared on the floor with hard working customers paying tap price and I was trying to track. I only noticed because I sat at the bar and stopped her as she set my beer down in front of me straight from the fridge and I said, "No, I want a freshly poured beer." She wasn't embarrassed or apologetic and poured me a beer only because she was caught. Kevin was the manager last night. I said I've worked food service many years and complimented the 2 awesome bar backs. Told him the story. Kevin's response? " We sometimes leave beers in the fridge for a few minutes". lol. To which I replied, " Nah, the time it took to get our food and eat it takes more than a few minutes". He shrugged and walked off. On a lesser note, the female bartender will talk to others for 15-20 minutes while you're starving from an 11 hour work day where the bar backs are put in an awkward situation to do her job and try not to do her job. It wasn't just us who didn't get dinner or drinks poured. Bartender also laughed when she put the wrong tall glass into the wrong crate when the bar back almost sliced his hand upon pushing it in. It was a busy Saturday. We waited about 15 minutes for an outdoor seat. My southern friend chicken sandwich was good. Loved the Cole slaw and pickles. My kids burger was fine. Good fries. If you are traveling through downtown (read old town) Livermore, find First Street Alehouse and stop in. This place is homey, decorated super cute, has indoor and outdoor seating, super friendly staff, and plenty of tvs to watch whatever sports are currently playing. This was the first time the hubster and I popped in after dropping a friend off in Milpitas. We decided to share the Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich. On the advice of our server we got the spicy peppers on the side. The hubster said they weren't all that hot. This was not the "classic" Philly, in my opinion, it had a cheddar cheese instead of a Swiss. It definitely tasted good but wasn't what I was expecting. For what was paid, I felt the portions were also tad small. We left wishing we had tried a burger instead, which they are known for. Lesson learned. Would I still recommend the First Street Alehouse...absolutely. I love to support smaller businesses and appreciate the diversity they bring to their communities. Give them a try. Service: 4.5 Kitchen: 1.5 Food: 2.3 Party of 7 on Saturday night and the restaurant was loud and busy, but expected since it is an "Alehouse" Our friends were already seated with their drinks on the table and then hummus trio appetizer shows up at our table after sitting, so we're off to a nice start! The hummus had interesting texture and flavor profile then the whipped feta & hot honey appetizer. The feta was soft and smooth but the crostini that I had were stale. From there the night took a turn since all our dinners order took over an hour to get to the table and even then we were missing two dinners. Our waitress Rebecca did apologize for the delay and she had the manager "comp" the two meals that went missing (but only one meal was taken off when all said and done). The salads the girls ordered were nothing special: between the Thai butter and cobb; the seared ahi tacos were a disappointment; the three different burgers that were all ordered medium rare, and were severed between medium or medium well (no pink); and finally the chicken cilantro jalapeño sandwich was "meh" according to my daughter. The chicken was cooked well but the there was cilantro flavor in the sandwich while the jalapeño was over-powering. Although seating and then menu are ample, service and the food is still top notch. The first time I was here, the server was kind enough to let me order from the kids menu. First time trying First Street Alehouse and it did not disappoint. The service was amazing. Me and my friend went Friday night and we got seated very quickly. Our waitress was very nice and offered us many recommendations. She was amazing. Our waitress was checking in on us frequently throughout our dine there. The ambiance was really nice inside. The decorations inside was one of a kind. It was not too loud and was not too quiet. It was just right. They even had some sports games on all the televisions in the restaurant it was very nice experience. The food was amazing. I ordered a Reuben sandwich with a side over of there Ceasar salad. It was very delicious. A good point to make is they do not charge on refills sodas. My glass was fully most of night being there. I overall give this restaurant a solid 4 stars out of 5 stars. We ordered: - Caesar Salad ($11.99) - Thai Beef Sliders with Beer Battered Fries ($17.99) - Seared Ahi Tacos ($18.99) - Calamari ($14.99) The lollipops on every entrée definitely threw me off, but if you bring kids with you this is something they'd enjoy. We started off with the Calamari and it was okay. A bit too much batter and the quality of the seafood was not the best compared to other restaurants like this style. The dipping sauces were good. I would pass on this in the future The Thai Beef Sliders are a special menu item and aren't available every day, but they were when we came on a Saturday. I loved the buns they used. They were really soft and complimented the beef very well. The beef was tender and the sauce had a nice sweetness. If you like sweet and savory foods then you'd like this a lot. This got mixed reviews at the table, but I enjoyed it. The fries are also really crispy and well seasoned. Highly recommend them as a side choice. The Caesar Salad tastes like any other Caesar Salad. Good, but nothing to write home about. It's like as good as Costco Caesar Salad which I do enjoy. Seared Ahi Tacos with the soft tortillas were a good choice. I'd like thicker slices of Ahi tuna, but nonetheless still a decent option. It was well seasoned and flavorful. This was overall like a 3.5 star experience. This is more of a restaurant where you come for the ambiance and the great service. People come more for those factors and to have drinks rather than having a top tier dining experience.
