    POG spritzer & red ale
    Elizabeth L.

Just what we were looking for, beer & food! Saw, from other Yelpers!, that the Grilled Cheese of the week was popular and today's was perfect! Late lunch after tax appointment in Brentwood and going thru Livermore is always nice. If earlier we would have strolled thru town. We sat out front since such a nice day. Greeted and sat right away. Offered menus and my husband ordered a beer while I went restroom. This week's GC was Jalapeño Popper. So glad we split, with a side of onion rings. Perfectly grilled with all the cheese oozing out just enough. Husband enjoyed the Red Ale and I had the POG Spritzer from a local winery, very refreshing. After we walked in to check out the Beer Can Collection. Wow, amazing amount of cans. Tables and bar did look inviting so we may come back and sit inside next time. Servers were all kind!

    Look at that huh!

They always do a great job for lunch just don't order fish and chips . We spit a Ruben sandwich and spit an order of onion rings. This place always spits it so nicely they set it all up two plates they do a great job . The servers are always nice they must pay their help pretty good the whole group are always happy people. You will be ok just don't order the fish snd chips

Calamari cooked right is one of my favorites! Stopped by for an order to go. After learning the fish and chips are not made fresh here (frozen) I opted for the calamari. The waitress- (Silvia or Sheila) lovely. Atmosphere very good. Calamari? Gag me. Dry with a weird batter- almost like corn chips? How is that possible? Never ever again. Don't order the calamari for 16.00. Just wrong to serve that. As I was leaving Sheila checked in with since I didn't eat the calamari. She encouraged me to order something else and credited my card. Kevin the manager was just as polite and very cool as well. The burger was very big and good. In all, the staff made the difference. I'll probably go again to watch a game and have some beer because I was so impressed by the people working there. Thanks Kevin and Sheila! I still don't recommend the calamari lol

Our family was in the area looking for a sports bar pub to watch the 49ers vs Rams game. We decided to eat and watch the game at First Street Alehouse. We arrived for a Sunday lunch at the restaurant recently. First Street Alehouse is located in a nice area in bustling downtown Livermore. There is accessible parking available in the back parking lot and street. The restaurant is spacious and has traditional modern pub decor. There is a variety of beer can displays and keg handles all around the walls. TVs are all around the bar area which makes this a great environment to watch football. We ordered a pork carnitas sandwich, Rueben sandwich, and a kids chicken tenders. Everything was delicious. My carnitas sandwich was scrumptious with every bite. The wifey's Rueben sandwich was also tasty especially with the extra 1000 island dressing dipping sauce. The beer battered fries was nice and crispy. Overall we enjoyed our experience at First Street Alehouse. The service was friendly and accommodating. There was a family friendly vibe and a local spot favorite feel to it. The beer selection was solid as well.

Good service and good food. Place is a bit noisy but this a great place to eat, have a beer and watch sports!

It was a busy Saturday. We waited about 15 minutes for an outdoor seat. My southern friend chicken sandwich was good. Loved the Cole slaw and pickles. My kids burger was fine. Good fries. My garlic steak fries were super yummy. I ate them all. My husband was disappointed with his Thai steak salad. Wasn't what he hoped for when I read anothe Yelp review saying it was good. Liked eating outside though. Nice watching the weekend crowd go by. And the singer with her microphone. Fun downtown.

A beautiful Sunday. Spending a little time with my girlfriend Miki and exploring the town of Livermore. First Street Alehouse 2106 First Street Livermore CA 94550 Server: Rebecca B Patio Table Watermelon Sangarie Creole Shrimp and Grits Squash Tomales Pumpkin Cheese Cake Such a relaxing place to have a light dinner. I love this place! My bf and I stopped by today for a quick meal and a couple drinks. We ordered an Apricot lager, Watermelon Sangria, Mango Serrano ceviche and some Cajun fries! The service is very respectful, and quick. The ambiance is very relaxing because of the music and atmosphere. Highly recommend coming here!

Great food, great service, chill ambiance, can't complain to be honest!! Such a chill place to stumble upon while we were in downtown Livermore. Had your typical bar-like, dive-ish bar kinda vibes, but the food was solid!! Ur go to American food but sometimes thats all you need especially when you're STARVING lol. Definitely recommend for those "night out" type meals when youre bar hopping or just walking thru downtown.

Haven't been to First Street Alehouse in some time and it was a reminder that it's always a solid choice when you're in the mood for a sit down meal in downtown Livermore. The burger i ordered was solid and a decent size! My only critique would be it was lacking a sauce or just a touch of salt. Other than that our server was wonderful and really made us feel welcomed. We look forward to our next visit!

One of my favorite spots to hit up in the area if you're craving some good burgers & beers. Definitely recommend!

Great ambiance, not too noisy--friendly service. On a Friday evening, we were seated quickly, and the service was fast. We went straight to the main courses and drinks; we skipped appetizers. The burgers were outstanding--you could tell they were grilled by the char flavor, which is so delicious. The fries were different and better than those at other places, with a light batter coating. The drinks were good--especially the root beer on tap, which was very tasty (the best root beer ever). This is now my new favorite spot for burgers and root beer.

Ask the Community - First Street Alehouse

Is it easy to find a parking space?

Depends on when you go. I went on a rainy fall afternoon and had no problems finding Street parking

Are they still doing breakfast buffets on Sundays?

    No, stopped during covid.

Do they serve whiskey, rum, vodka etc OR is it only beer/wine?

The Alehouse only serves beer and wine.

Do they still do the breakfast buffet?

Do you have the NFL ticket? Will you be showing games this Sunday in the outside patio?

We do not have the NFL ticket. We typically just show whatever is regularly televised. We do not have TVs for our outdoor patios at this time.

Is this place open for outside dining?

    Yes, we are!

Is the front & back outdoor area pet friendly?

Yes. They allow dogs, and will even bring you a water bowl and some treats for your pup!

Do they serve white claw or another hard seltzer?

We serve Truly on tap and offer a variety of flavors.

    Do they offer bottomless mimosas?

    Not that I know of

Not sure if this has already been asked, but do you offer Beyond Meat or Impossible Burgers as veg friendly options? Fingers crossed!! 🌱🤞🏽

They offer: BURGER, CHICKEN BREAST, TURKEY BURGER, VEGGIE BURGER OR PORTOBELLO MUSHROOM as sandwich options.…

Is their all you can eat breakfast on Sundays worth going to?

Absolutely. The variety is large and price very reasonable.

Leather seating and small tables where you can relax and meet up with friends. Our server was friendly who checked on us periodically. Their menu has an interesting blend of choices. They even offer deviled eggs that I hear are pretty spectacular. We ordered the Thai chicken salad and fish tacos. The salad looked quite good and my friend enjoyed it very much. The tacos are on petite, single shells with a piece of fish, avocado and cabbage slaw on each. I happily ate every bite. A side salad would have enhanced this dish. I wish I had ordered an appetizer, like the deviled eggs or brussels sprouts, as it would have rounded out my lunch well and it would have been more filling. I noticed a steady flow of people coming and going. It was a relaxed atmosphere and we were not rushed out by any means. I hadn't seen my friend in person for at least a year so it was nice to sit and just chat in a calm environment. Located directly across First Street from Sauced. This place is another positive addition to downtown Livermore.

This bar was nothing near quiet and chill when we swung by. It was more of a frat basement vibe (which I actually found quiet endearing). This place is super tiny. When I came, all the chairs/furniture were pushed to the side to make room for a dance floor. The DJ played frat classics like 'Mo Bamba' and somehow created an energy where everyone was being perfectly carefree and dancing all over the place. Everyone was cramped up in the tiny dancefloor but still had enough room to move around and get to the bar. There was a pool table that was covered off to the side and some games lined up on the wall (to likely be used on a more casual and lowkey night). They had a bunch of security. They had guards at the entrance, by the DJ, and at the back door (that I think led to an outdoor patio). I'm not sure if this makes me feel reassured or concerned that they feel the need to have so much security. To me, the drinks were average. I ordered a Vodka Cranberry and felt that it was mostly just cranberry juice. The bartenders were friendly and quick. The prices weren't too bad either. I would definitely come back!

Different scene than other dives- seemed to be a local watering hole for an after work spot on the way home. The TVs played a mixture of a subtitled movie and some obscure sports. As a woman, this was a cool dive bar to exist in without attention. All patrons sat in peace on their phones. Decor is a mixture of Packers // 49ers gear... guessing this is a fun place to visit for a game!

I ordered the Sessions Burger, and it was lowkey one of the best burger's I've had in a while. I love blue cheese on a burger, and the caramelized onions had a deep, rich flavor. I also liked that it wasn't obnoxiously large for no reason. The fries were perfect, and the ranch was excellent. Honestly, ranch is a good way to judge a place like this, and theirs was rich and smooth. Also really enjoyed the beer I chose. The hostess was really kind to explain to us how their restaurant works in terms of the self serve beer as you pay at that front beforehand. Whereas, food items and cocktail drinks are ordered at the back left corner. We ordered the "Such a Gemini" and "Paper cut". Both were more on the sweeter side and you couldn't taste the alcohol at all. Quite dangerous really. The "Such a Gemini" was a hibiscus agave drink. The "Paper cut" was more of a fruity mix with the elderflower and lemon mixed in the whiskey, which I was a HUGE fan of. Gorgeous presentation as well! As for the food, we got the Sessions burger (cheeseburger) and cod tacos both with truffle fries. And maaan. Cod tacos were cooked well and super fresh. Big fan of that red salsa on the side. The Sessions burger was juicy and not dry, but I really enjoyed how it served on a pillowy pretzel bun! Would love to bring my family and friends here! I'd recommend this place if you need a space to hangout at.
