This place is so conveniently located that it instantly turns any business trip or quick getaway into a golf adventure. If I ever retire to Phoenix, I'd be hunting for a house right around here in a heartbeat. Most folks picture Arizona golf as nothing but cacti, sand, and rocks baking in the sun. Not here! Raven is an absolute oasis with thousands of mature pine trees lining the fairways, lush rolling greens, strategic bunkers, and stunning views of South Mountain and the valley beyond. It's like a lush Northern Arizona vibe dropped right into the desert beautifully manicured and way more forgiving (and fun) than the typical target-style desert courses. This was our very first stop on a multi-course golf binge, suggested by a friend, and it completely set the tone. Everything only gets better from here, but Raven was the ideal starter: challenging yet playable for all levels, with that championship Gary Panks/David Graham design that keeps you thinking on every shot. The staff was super accommodating and friendly from the moment we arrived. The food? Mouth-watering definitely grab the burger (you won't regret it). Drinks were cold, the vibe relaxed, and the whole experience made it feel like we were kicking off something special. Nothing beats golf in Arizona when the conditions are this good. Raven was the perfect warm-up round, and now I'm hooked scan't wait to hit the rest of the courses on our list! Highly recommend making Raven your first (or only) stop in Phoenix. I've been playing in and off( mostly off) for a year and am inconsistent at best! Wellllll my first lesson I noticed improvement and was left shaking my head, , the second blew me away.... I was doing much better after just one lesson, but even better after the second, and now after my third, I really feel confident I can do this! Explaining why know I can do this! I can't explain why or how... but his determination and confidence in what I can do made me believe I could too. He made changes to my stance and grip and showed me why and how the small adjustments make a big difference . I don't know which one of us gets more excited when I hit a shot in the air and down the middle , but it's awesome !

Three very simple tips later and only 15 minutes into my first lesson, Frank had me hitting straighter and more consistently than I ever have. Had lesson #3 today and cannot believe the results. My only regret is not reaching out to him sooner and instead spending the last year and a half on YouTube videos, endless hours at the range on my own and multiple rounds just getting more frustrated. In addition to being an amazing teacher and coach, Frank is just a great guy and fun to spend time with. Highly recommend!

However after years of decline, and letting the course go. It's only a shell of what it used to be. The layout is great, the service is great, the green are actually great. The ball rolls faster than you think. However, throughout the course. There are a lot of bare areas. The fairways are very spotty. There are a lot of debris around the course. The driving range is mats only, I heard a lot of negative things about the course and I expected a lot worse. There are some bright spots. Overall I still had a great day of golf.

We loved the small group personal attention we got from our coaches, to include Coach Martin. Not gonna lie, we got to our hotel exhausted each night. Every day was an exercise in deconstructing our bad habits into good ones. That grip, that grip, that grip. I promise at the end of the course you WILL know your correct grip. This makes a huge difference. I learned how to use my irons. I've been "allergic" to my irons because I never knew how to use them. Now I do. Our coaches, Jonas and Mike were problem solvers. They would work with me and keep trying to find the right solution to my issues until they were happy with the results. I can't wait to get to our local golf course to try out my new skills, thanks to Tour Striker Golf Academy. Pros: - cheap - tee boxes and fairways well kept - friendly staff Cons: - large parking lot however it was full and took a while to find parking (lots of vehicles circling looking for parking) - course is tight with all the holes close together and homes surrounding the course - difficult to find your ball on some of the holes because of all the range balls on it I feel this course overall is good for the price. He's been there three times this week. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was irritated by this. The worst was when someone asked him which hole he was shooting for, he got extremely confrontational. My instructor is Tommy Samaha and I am SO glad that I got him. He is kind, empathetic, and truly passionate about helping people learn how to golf. One minute with this guy and there is no mistaking that he lives for what he does!! He explains things in a way anyone can understand and in just a few months he has gotten me from an absolute rookie with NO golfing experience (I did not even know how to hold a club) to.... Well, still a rookie, but a rookie that almost has a fully formed swing! This man is changing my life and I look forward to my lessons with him every Monday. I do not leave a single lesson without a smile on my face! Aside from the instruction, the facility is perfect for someone looking to learn their swing for the first time or improve upon foundations they have already learned. Each lesson and practice will involve 2 camera angles that allow you to play back your swing in slow motion so you can really get a good idea of what you're doing well and what you're doing wrong. After each lesson you also get a recap of your lesson with playback videos and instructor voice overs to walk you through what you just learned so you can continue to build upon it. And if you're a sweaty person like me, it is an incredible privilege to learn in an air conditioned room during a hot Phoenix summer! The only thing I would change about this place is that there isn't ever any music going, so practice sessions feel a little quiet and tend lead to overthinking and frustration (for me, at least).
