The first time my husband and I both ordered The Works omelets. The omelets are made with cage free eggs, sausage, ham and bacon with cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese. Roasted onion, tomatoes and crimini mushrooms are also included. Comes with hash browns and thick cut multi grain toast. Our second visit we each ordered The Traditional Breakfast. Includes two cage free eggs - any style with a choice of bacon, ham or sausage. Thick sliced toast and hash browns included. Sausage choices are pork, turkey or chicken. The staff was friendly. So disappointed by my to-go order this morning. It seems like you can't order to-go anywhere anymore without something being wrong in your order or the quality going down significantly. Ordered avocado toast with a side of bacon. The side of bacon was $2.79 and I got 1 and 1/2 pieces..It looked like someone took a bite out of the bacon. Then my avocado was very brown. I know they probably can't help that much, but I was still very disappointed in the quality. I tried to call to give them the feedback, but they make it pretty difficult to get a hold of a team member. This was a Tuesday around 9am by the way, and not very busy in the restaurant. A bit of a Father's Day debacle. Strike three first watch I'm sorry to say.... I'm not saying I'll never go back to First Watch, but I have not had, what I would consider, a good experience the three times I've been at a First Watch. I'm giving a fair baseline and review the food, service, and atmosphere based on my thought process and what people can expect. Brief overview: my wife arranged for 11 of my family members to have breakfast at First Watch for Fathers Day. She called the day before to get on the call ahead list because we met the minimum party size. She was told on the phone, it would be probably a 20 minute wait as it's not a guaranteed reservation time. This is industry standard and if managed correctly would've been the expectation. When we showed up at 10 with all 11 members, we were told we were number seven on the list and that there were at least 5 to 7 other parties. The issue with this, is the staff was not pulling tables together to get us a place in front of normal walk in parties. This is what I was told. I'm not sure how correct it is. We ended up waiting over an hour for our table, which could have been cut in half. They had a "manager in training" managing the front of the house on a busy holiday. This poor guy was working as hard as he could. One of the more experienced waitresses stepped up and helped as the host list was out of control. . I have to say, I appreciate the waitress, stepping up and pushing enough tables together to accommodate probably nine people, and we stuffed the other two into the table which was fine with us, I happily took my corner. Now let's talk about the good stuff... In the three times I've been to first watch. The food has been absolutely fantastic...and this was no different. I went to the light menu and had their Power Wrap which was basically egg whites, meat of preference and some fantastic cheese, which I forgot what it was actually. It was 500 cal of pure eating pleasure and I would go back to eat it again...if I could eat outside where it's quiet...we'll get into that later. I have to say when I saw " million dollar breakfast sandwich" special for $14, which ended up being an English muffin with eggs and meat and cheese, I was a bit skeptical. It was absolutely fantastic, not enough to feed me in the morning, but I have to say I'd pay the money for it because the taste and the quality of the eggs, bacon, cheese and sauces it was absolutely fantastic. I'm glad my wife only ate half of hers. :) There was so much food on the table. I couldn't keep up with everything but everybody agreed their food was outstanding. I don't think you can go there and get a bad meal. Service: I feel so sorry for the people that were serving the front of the house that day. They were set up by their management for lots of failure and angry people. They did a great job staying happy and positive and doing the best they could, even though I knew they were greeting their teeth with every word. We left a pretty good tip for them and I hope the house doesn't get any of it because they did not earn it. What really impressed me is I saw the wait staff actually helping each other out best they could... attending to tables when they were falling short. The management should recognize them for this, that they picked up their management shortcomings. I'm being pretty hard on the management just because I know it was a holiday and I know there was a large crowd there, but they managed it like any other day. It was pretty obvious we saw at least a dozen people leave during the time we were standing there. This was a poorly managed day at best and a completely unexpected surprise to the staff managing the front of the house. The Kitchen: I was so impressed that we got our food within 10 minutes of ordering it, the back of the house should be recognized as well. They somehow kept up with a massive crowd that was there. Ambience: three out of three on this one it's too freaking loud. All 11 of us agreed on this. I could not have a conversation with the people sitting next to me because of the sound. This is consistent at every First Watch. I'm guessing if you're sitting in a booth along the wall that might help. I will give them a little break on this because it is breakfast. There's a lot of plates clanking and there are a lot of people there, but I'm just calling out the ambience with the data not emotion. You just really couldn't keep a conversation going. It's too loud. All in all, I may give them another chance when it's just me and my wife, but I would not recommend taking a large crowd there ever and I would not do it on a holiday. The food was absolutely spot on and fantastic. The wait staff in the kitchen were all over it, again accommodating them for making up the shortcomings of management and doing a great job to keep people as happy as possible. read more

Best Avocado Toast! Eggs cooked to perfection and avocado was fresh and chunky (not some over-mashed spread). Breakfast on a Friday morning was packed and it is very loud inside. I even asked for the manager to stop by so we could give praises for the food and our service with Shay . We will definitely be back and food was delicious but Shay was the best part of our experience . 5 Stars - A Delicious Breakfast Spot in Apex! First Watch in Apex is a fantastic breakfast and brunch spot with something for everyone! Our toddler had a doctor's visit and we decided to treat her with something special to appreciate her being calm during the vaccination. She devoured her French Toast at a stunning pace. I decided to step aside from my regular go to Eggs Benedict and try the summer special Elote Breakfast Burrito. The combination of Chorizo and Scrambled Eggs topped with two types of cheese, beans and avocado covered with corn salsa was a delight. My wife decided to try the Chickichanga from the regular menu. According to her, the chicken and chorizo was well complemented by the onion chili combo with Vera Cruz sauce. Parking is tricky on a Sunday- they have plenty but you may have a decent walk. Very noisy- really hard to talk or server was nice- she couldn't hear us and we couldn't hear her. With that only one order was not quite right. Coffee cups on table were stained price of coffee with meal was pricy. The food was amazing almost all of us finished our plates. I got the 1/2 sandwich- roast beef and the kale salad- everything had great flavor- the horseradish sauce was great. We visited on a Sunday morning during the breakfast rush with a larger group. Despite having some food allergies in our party, the staff was accommodating and handled everything well. The food was as good as always. Even though the location was busy, they seated us quickly. This remains one of our favorite upscale restaurants and locations. read more

This is a great breakfast/brunch place. The staff is always personable and helpful. We like their menu, and the food usually comes out quick enough. We have food allergies in our family, and we feel comfortable eating here and have never had a problem eating here. I ordered the Ham and Gruyere melt with the soup of the day which was cheddar broccoli soup. The sandwich was delicious and filling. The Dijonnaise sauce was a nice addition to the sandwich and the soup had great flavor and nice size chunks of broccoli. We have enjoyed previous visits to First Watch restaurants in other areas so held high expectations. Unfortunately, our experience was only average. We were greeted immediately, sat at a table for two, and received our drink order right away. It was nice to have a carafe of coffee and a pitcher of ice water. Off to a good start. We drink decaf, which can be risky if the coffee has been sitting around too long. This coffee was fresh but had an unusual flavor, as if it was a coffee concentrate and not fresh brewed. Each cup was close to $4.00, a bit steep, in our opinion. Our server was friendly and attentive five throughout our meal. Very good service all the way around. A big plus. I was interested in the lemon ricotta pancakes yet also wanted some protein. Our server recommended the Trifecta, which came with meat and egg. Perfect. She said any of the pancake and waffle items could be chosen with the Trifecta. The entree was good, but not wonderful. We were also surprised when paying our bill to be charged an additional $3 per pancake (lemon ricotta cake with two pancakes), totaling close to $20 for the breakfast .... Unexpected, steep and not a great value for the quality of the breakfast. My husband ordered the chickichanga. It sounded great, yet looked odd.... Like a wrap with gravy. It was warm, not hot. It lacked flavor for a Mexican-inspired entree. The seating is ample and the dining room is modern and clean. The open, high ceiling atmosphere is also quite loud as the dining area was full when we were dining at this location. Fine, yet a bit stimulating for our taste. Not sure we would choose to return for another visit with all the great dining choices in the area. The food was only OK and the price point seems high. read more

ALL AMERICAN FOOD RESTAURANTS There are ALL THESE 'Cooking Shows' on TV for years for pretty much for any culinary preference... and I CAN'T FIND a DECENT breakfast. I ordered their Strawberry, caramel, powder sugar and whip cream French Toast with a side order of their Million dollar bacon and 2 scrambled eggs. ALL WERE COLD. I returned the cold eggs. I ordered the bacon crispy, so you would expect them to be hot, since they were supposed to be cooked longer. I ordered the French Toast toppings on the side. And, good thing i did because the 2 texan thick bread toast was cold and barely browned. The restaurant was empty, so one would have expect their meal to be prepared fresh and served hot. The staff was POLITE, but not professional. Staff needs to stop going back into the kitchen to talk with co-workers. Servers should try to be more attentive to their patrons, because when I was seated i noticed a few plates with food left on them from other disappointed customers. We had a great server today as FW was very busy. We were seated pretty quickly as we got there just after nine. They are offering a few additions for the Holidays right now but I ordered off the traditional menu. I ordered the biscuit with turkey gravy and two eggs and seasonal potatoes. The biscuit was cooked the way I liked it. It was soft and delicious and the gravy had a thick consistency. For me personally, the meal tasted heavy on the salt and pepper and the potatoes had a somewhat spicy different flavor to them. For my palette it's a bit strong but for others it's probably fine. I had plenty of food and next time will get the pancake as it's my favorite place for a pancake. read more

TLDR: Healthy, flavorful meals. Ample menu options. Friendly employees. I've been to other First Watch restaurants in the past and am a fan. Our experience at this location was about the same. The restaurant was busy as expected on a Sunday afternoon. We made a reservation online in advance (since we had a larger party) and checked in when we arrived. I appreciate how they allow reservations and let part of the party check in. They prepared a table right away and the rest of our party arrived soon after. I've enjoyed each item I've ordered from First Watch. This visit I ordered the quinoa power bowl. It was surprisingly not filling. It tasted great but I was still hungry afterwards. A side of bread or fruit would have accompanied it well. It can be pricy, however, the meals are usually portioned well and nutritious. First Watch is a great option for a balanced, delicious meal. Our server was welcoming and attentive. The dining area gets loud and our server recognized this and made sure she understood us. Our orders were accurate and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. After the meal we paid at the front counter. Checking in and paying in the same area can lead to the front becoming crowded. Chairs are available and the wait time is short. Saturday morning are busy but we were seated pretty quickly. I don't love that coffee is offered seemingly free when it's actually almost $4. We had to flag the waitress down to remember our drinks but again it was a busy Saturday. The food was very tasty however on this particular day they were down to 1 waffle maker so it came later in the meal. Seems like a miss not to have more than 2 waffle makers. I've always loved First Watch for the food and the service. I understand the difficulty in finding help and always give businesses grace during these times but our experience at this location left a lot to be desired. We were seated promptly but waited a long time time before anyone would come to the table to acknowledge us to take our drink order. After the host (no server ever approached although several walked around multiple times scanning the dining room and completely overlooked us) took our orders, we had to wait yet again and ask again for our beverages. Drinks finally came out...My hot tea service looked like it was clearly recycled from previous customers. All the teabags were rumpled (thank goodness they were individually sealed) and the lemons were well dried out. They should not have been served. I also observed a server bringing plates out to patrons with his thumb clearly in the food. That was the case with my buttered toast as well when my food finally came out. One of the servers tried juggling too many items for a to-go order and ended up toppling the to-go drink, spilling it right by the entry to the kitchen. No one took care of the spill. It was still there when we left after at least 30 minutes. That was a trip hazard to staff and to customers. Very disappointed in my experience here. While the food overall was good as usual, the service is lacking. Have always had great service at the Cary High House location but clearly staff was not well trained nor were they empowered to look after each others' customers. read more

The food There are a few vegan options - avocado toast and chia pudding - the avocado toast left me a bit hungry last time - I would love some tofu scramble or vegan eggs on top. They also have milk substitute for coffee. The coffee is so strong here - it's no joke. I often run out of almond milk (they give you those little cutie pitchers (creamers?) of almond milk) to subdue it or I switch to tea from the start. I do love their potatoes and onions - do they cook these in sherry? I see some on a shelf in their opened kitchen (and this inspires me to start using sherry at home in my tofu scramble and onions and it's really a game changer). Their onions have this sweet and strong flavor that really improve your quality of life (haha). I actually really like their bread. It's thick with seeds/nuts and I once bought a bread loaf to take home (yea, I did that. Why are you judging me?). My family is obsessed with their million dollar bacon. My son was delighted with his huge hot cocoa in celebration of his birthday but it was so big he didn't eat anything else. We came on a Friday morning at 10:30. I wanted breakfast and the hubby wanted lunch. That worked out well. The menu is quite large. We had the Million $ Bacon as an appetizer. The hubby had half sandwich (Monterey Club) and Squash Soup with a Coke Zero. I had the Million $ Harvest Hash and coffee. The coffee was good and there was a selection of international delight coffee flavorings at the table. Service was fast. Our server was delightful. The food tasted very fresh. Ordered a delivery, spent $30+ on a breakfast and a side. I ordered a side of cheese grits and literally got ALL cheese. I also ordered the market hash. Although the flavor was decent, the potatoes were WAY undercooked, not even fork tender, which was EXTREMELY disappointing. I immediately called the store, I was told I would get a refund yet my bank account still shows I was charged. What a horrible experience, I've had MUCH better in different locations and will NOT be coming back to another First Watch. I'll definitely spread the word of my experience whenever the opportunity arises. Such a sad and disappointing situation, used to be a favorite of mine. It was the tri-fecta with bacon, scrambled eggs and a carrot cake & pecan pancake for my mom and the roast beef & havarti sandwich with a mixed greens salad and an OJ for me. Came here on a busy Sunday morning and we happened to be seated right away. It was busy and bustling. They have seasonal items as well as their regular menu. The golden lion drink was a nice treat for the Spring which included pineapple juice, turmeric and coconut water. The salmon frittata was hot and fresh. Hit or miss.... My girlfriend had a really good experience - I think she was in love with the menu. She has a gluten allergy so this menu is ideal for her. However, on my first visit (with her) it was a different story. Service was terrible! Never got the water we asked for - took two requests for creamer.... restaurant was busy but had open tables. They got both plates correct but waiter never checked back on us - we had to flag him down everytime. Noticed a table next to us waited - then one of them went to Starbucks for coffee while they waited for the waiter. Menu is awesome - decor is fine - I really like the sustainability theme..... but service is bad and food was "ok". If you like toast that doesn't appear to have even gotten near a toaster.....
