The restaurant doesn't deserve even one star. They don't accept reservations, so you sign up on a pointless wait list. I received my text stating I was next in line, but when I arrived I was told I wasn't on the wait list. Provided a screenshot of my next in line text, but still had to wait. Server came by and took our drink order. About 10 minutes later server returned to take our food order. Food arrives before the drinks. Food is COLD. I ordered food that comes warm in other restaurants. But not here. Server was finishing her shift. Interrupted my meal (and conversation) TWICE. Once to ask for the sugar and hot sauce (I thought she was joining us, seeing how she requested my to pass her the condiments) and again to request us to MOVE AWAY FROM THE TABLE so she could sweep underneath. Clearly we were in the way of her doing her job. We felt rushed to complete our meal. I did contact First Watch via email, received an automated response stating I will be contacted within 3 business days. It"s been over a week and I have yet to hear from them. Great place to go if you want to show up to eat when it's your turn on the waitlist that doesn't work, have cold fold come out before your cold beverage and have to deal with interruptions ​from the staff making you feel rushed. Used their app to get online. It said a 25 to 30 minute wait. I signed up at 9:15 and arrived there at 9:45. When I checked in the hostess told me it would probably be about 10 minutes. It was 20 minutes. I don't know why they have in line when they seated everyone before they seated me. It took 30 minutes to get our orders. My eggs were cold. Not even warm like they've been under a heat light. They ran out of the containers of hot syrup, so I got cold syrup.very disappointing read more

I was in first watch this morning for brunch and was very disappointed. This is the 4th time being to this location and have been equally disappointed each time. We asked our server for creamer that he never came back with. After taking our initial order we waited 40 minutes for our food to arrive. I got the market harvest hash and it was incredibly bland the only flavor was the goat cheese. I added salt pepper and hot sauce but it still wasn't great. The best park of my meal was the lemon dressed greens which were delicious. Stuff from the wooden pallets above our table were falling into our tap water. The butter in my toast wasn't even melted so overall temp of my meal was lukewarm with undercooked cooked veggies. I asked for over medium fried eggs but got over easy with clear whites. The server visited our table 3 times total. I was trying to get his attention to get juice and to get the butternut squash soup but he paid us no mind. Our meal was $55 and was most definitely not worth that. They were turning people away with empty tables saying it was an hour long wait. Good looks great but not worth it! read more

Love this place! Hands down. Food is great! Front hosts always ask how your meal was upon paying and leaving. Staff is ALWAYS willing to make it right if maybe the food happened to not be hot or something. They are always busy! But go figure, it's a great place to be in the morning. She went to check and told us our food hadn't even been started yet. We said we are leaving but will pay for our tea and smoothie. If you don't know the history of First Watch start there. The Chantilly location in South Riding is a classic First Watch operation. From the time you check in, until you leave, it is superb. The food quality, the menu options, and preparation are spot on. The wait staff are fantastic because of their training and obviously enjoy their work. i came here to show my mom first watch for the first time , & before i had all wonderful experiences. today i was very unhappy with a server. My mom was asking me questions about the eggs & about wanting them to be sunny side up.( in spanish) meanwhile the server is standing right in front of us. i would translate back to the server in english. assuming she speaks english. & not once did she speak spanish to help out my mom on what she wanted. & when we are leaving she speaks spanish to us & tells us to have a nice day. she could've spoken spanish to help my mom understand better. if she could have done so. very unhappy with this experience. & the lack of assistance & she would rarely check on us. read more

After getting to our table and looking forward to a healthy meal, we waited 25 minutes before someone even came to our table to acknowledge us. We even put the menus at the edge of the table just so someone would see that we're ready. Eventually, the waitress came and we told her we were very hungry and have been ready to order. She apologized and said she was busy. Unacceptable! Recommendation: serve water and coffee as soon as your patrons arrive. Was super excited that this opened up in my neighborhood. We tried it yesterday for the first time and definitely wasn't blown away. Food tasted just ok. The shrimp and grits were disappointing. Portion was super small. Presentation was not great. Drinks were good. Waitress was also just ok. Drinks were empty for a good while and she never came back to check and see if we needed any. I'm really disappointed with this First Watch location in South Riding, VA. Not sure if they think it's ok to scam people who are ordering delivery since it takes so much effort to complain or receive resolution. Folks may be more likely to just accept what they receive but this is unacceptable. I know food advertising can be hyper-beautified but what I received does not at all fit the description or meet the expectations of a reasonable customer. See the advertising for Cinnamon Spice Churros on the left and what I received on the right. No powdered sugar, no taste of cinnamon, no crunch in the outside or gooey-ness on the inside, and overcooked. For anyone of Spanish or Portuguese origin, you know well that what I received in this photo is not churros. A creative reinvention would be interesting but just advertising cultural food under the guise of worldliness and then executing such a simple dish so poorly is truly disappointing. Maybe it would be better to eat inside, then at least it would be easier to send things back. read more

When we arrived we went to check in and saw quite a few open tables. We were told that our wait time from arrival was still the 1.5 hours and that the online check in just notified the restaurant that we would like to be on the list. What a waste of time.
