I have given this place 3 tries in hopes it would improve in the last year- sadly, it has not. We had 4 people eating and all 4 had a bad meal. The cream was curdled for the coffee- and all the cream in the bowl was curdled. Our eggs were over cooked, and our order was wrong (asked for grits and got a salad). The sausage had a terrible flavor as well. For the price of the meals there, I think people expect better quality. Like I said, this 3rd was probably the worse time and will not be back. read more

This was our first time dining here. It was awesome! We had the bacon strip appetizer that consists of black peppered bacon with maple syrup. We also had the chickichanga which has pesto chicken with chorizo, some veggies and what tasted like an eggs benedict type drizzle with sour cream on the top, and multigrain banana pancake with granola crunch. The regular drip coffee was clean tasting and all around a good balance-not bitter. The ice coffee was perfectly sweetened but not overly. My favorite was the Kale tonic fresh juice- it consisted of kale, cucumber, Fuji apple and lemon. DELICIOUS and green!! We were SO impressed with the service, the food, coffee, fresh juices...We can't believe that we have never eaten here before. It's quite a new hotspot in town. The food is great portion size and tasty. However for breakfast it is very pricy. Nice to go for a birthday brunch or fancy date but not a go to every weekend for breakfast when your on a budget. The staff is friendly but the wait is long on weekends. read more

Yum! I am so happy that first watch is in Cumming now, and we can come here all the time! The restaurant itself is gorgeous, bright, and very well decorated. The menu is delicious with tons of variety, for both vegetarian and meat eaters a like! They have a seasonal menu which changes with the seasons, and then staples that are there all the time. They also have several delicious freshly pressed juices, and the ones that I've tried I've been really tasty. The handful of times that I've been here since they've opened, it's always crowded! Make sure you download their app on your phone, and you can hold your place in line before you even go there. It's very handy and it saves you time for waiting at the restaurant. In terms of the restaurants staff, I think they're still working things out, because the waiters that we've had, haven't had the most knowledge about the menu, or been the best servers. But like I said, it's a new restaurant and I think they are still working things out. We had an issue with our bill two times that we've gone, and the manager was very abrasive in dealing with that. I actually had to waste 15 minutes talking with him, and he was extremely rude. If my review was based off how he treated me alone, I wouldn't be back. Luckily the food speaks for itself and, so I'm going to overlook these two mishaps as a newly opened restaurant mistake. We've visited this location 5 times. As a repeat customer, I feel like I need to share feedback because I've noticed a pattern and I'm hoping that it helps the owners. First things first... the food is great. I like their menu options and I haven't had anything that didn't taste good. Why the 2 stars? The service is simply terrible. The first two visits we had at First Watch were pretty good. The food was good, it came out in a timely manner, and the waiters were attentive. The past three times haven't been anything close. Between receiving the wrong order, excessive times to wait for your order (25-30 minutes to receive food at the table), and waiters who seem to disappear into the kitchen only to be seen when they bring the check.... it's just not a pleasant experience. I hope the service improves at First Watch, we really enjoy the food and it's a great option for breakfast in the area. read more

I love first watch and have had good experience at many locations. Was surprised with this specific place at the salt level. Everything we ordered all 4 dishes was over salted. Service was great and the wait was reasonable. The only thing was high salt level. I noticed a similar review from others as well specific to salt levels. read more

It stayed in my wallet for over a year because I really had no interest in using it. But friends wanted to meet at this First Watch on a Saturday morning so we went. I've lived in Cumming my entire life, and I've been dying for a great breakfast/brunch spot. First Watch is exactly what Cumming has been missing! There's options for everyone, including vegetarian/vegan, gluten-free, and low-calorie dishes. They offer everything from a traditional American breakfast, to avocado toast, to soups and sandwiches. We went around 8:30am for the grand opening and were seated immediately. The service was great and friendly. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, and the server was good about making sure we were good on our drinks. I got the BLT Eggs Benedict and my boyfriend got the Works Omelette with potatoes. Both were very delicious!! Eggs Benedict can be tricky, but they cooked the dish perfectly! The bacon was crispy, just how I like it, the bread was nice and crunchy, and the side spring mix was the perfect addition to keep me from being too full. The Omelette was packed full of fresh veggies and meat, it was really good, as well. My biggest regret is not ordering the Million Dollar Bacon or trying the juice, but I will definitely be returning to try both! When leaving around 9:15, the restaurant was getting busy and the wait was about 20-30 minutes. My family visited for brunch/lunch. We were greeted right away and seated within 5 minutes of arrival. Our server came within a minute of us being seated with hot coffee and took drink orders. My son and I both ordered the Summer special, Crab Omelette and an order of the Million Dollar bacon. My husband ordered Market Hash. When the food came it was fresh and hot. The bacon was good but a little spicy. Next time I'd probably order without the black pepper or cayenne. Omelette was good. A lot of food for one person. I'd probably share with someone next time. My husband and I tried First Watch this past Sunday morning. It was pouring rain, but that didn't keep people away. We arrived early and were seated right away. Our server was Sandra and she was excellent! She knew the menu and was able to answer our questions. She checked on us regularly but wasn't an intrusion. I actually like my bacon very crispy, and when i told her the bacon I had was just not done enough for me, she brought me a new order of crispy bacon! She was smiling and friendly yet professional. First time to First Watch and it was outstanding. Busy place, but they turn the tables quickly while not pressuring patrons. Claybo was our server and she was excellent. Friendly, professional and perfect service. I had the "special", avocado toast and eggs. Prepared perfectly, the toast is multigrain and delicious, avocados ripe and the eggs exactly as requested. This was the brand new location in Cumming on their first day of service. Like all the locations we have visited parking is an issue and First Watch depends upon you parking at other businesses during peak times. Considering the other businesses are not constructed yet helps. The service was a little slower but again it was the first day and they got a pass on it. The food is the same so if you like one location you will like this one as well. I have tried multiple items and while all have been pretty good I have not hit on something great. This time I had the elevated egg sandwich and it was a little messy to try to eat with your hands and the egg was halfway over easy. I tried someone else's avacado toast and it was better than most. It is nice to have a good breakfast/ brunch spot this far north though instead of having to go to John's Creek or Buford. read more

This is usually my favorite breakfast place, but today we went to their website to get on the waiting list, and it said no wait of a party of our size (2 adults and a child. When we showed up there were ten or so people waiting and we were told it would be 25 to 30 minutes. When I showed the hostesses their website saying no wait, she said it didn't take into account their only having two waitresses. I'm not sure what the point of such an app is if it cannot give one accurate information. The wait turned out to be 40 minutes, and my eggs benedict were cold. read more

Tuesday morning not busy at all. Took at least 20 minutes to get our food. Came out cold. Butter wouldn't melt on waffle. Bacon cold. Portions have definitely gotten smaller. It took at least 5 minutes to get the attention of any server. Finally one walked by not ours so I stopped her. She took my plate and didn't get another plate at least another 10 minutes. Manager came over after I got my second plate and apologized and said he'd make it right. When I got the bill there was no compensation for the inconvenience. By this time I was just ready to leave. Fresh seafood n house thick sliced in house baked whole grain breads were magnificent. Service was agreeable and splendid. Rich jam adorned breads with too much bacon is a recipe for success. I'm an odd ball and not big on meat or pork so I asked the server what to expect.....she did not explain that it's not normal biscuits n gravy. Didn't say anything about it being a chicken gravy. This was recommended by my sister. She doubled down on the "million dollar bacon" and she could not have oversold it. Best bacon ever. I had originally considered a traditional eggs and bacon meal, but Jodi told me I had to have the Pesto Chicken Quinoa Bowl. I was skeptical, because chicken at breakfast, am I right? But I decided to go with her recommendation and it was amazing. Healthy, fresh, light and tasty. We're coming back on our way out of town! And the service and presentation is spectacular. read more
