This was my first time trying out this place. I arrived (party of 4) at 8:50am on a Saturday. We were immediately seated, which was a nice surprise. The restaurant was busy, but not overly crowded. The atmosphere in the restaurant is bright and relaxing. The staff members are very polite and attentive. I ordered the trifecta breakfast...choice of either waffle or pancake with two eggs, and choice of bacon or sausage. I had mine with two over medium eggs, chicken sausage, and a waffle. The eggs were cooked perfectly, as was the light, airy waffle. The chicken sausage had a funky flavor. It didn't care for the sausage, but everything else was tasty. The waffle was served with a raspberry preserve sort of compote. Delicious! My teen daughter ordered the huevos rancheros tostada. She loved it! My 5 year old has their kid's meal pancake. It's typically served with chocolate chips, but we substituted with blueberries. Her meal was served with bacon or sausage. She chose bacon. The coffee was hot and robust. The water served was room temperature though, and definitely tap water. Gross. If you're going to serve tap water, they had better make it ice cold and serve it either lots of lemons to disguise that funk. I had to ask for water three times and lemons twice. Had I known it was going to be room temperature tap water, I would've spared the waiter the trouble. For my toddler, I ordered a scrambled egg. It was served not even soft scrambled...whites were runny. I sent it back and asked them to cook it longer. I finally received that single scrambled egg at the end of our meal. The manager comped the egg, without me even mentioning it as a problem, which I appreciated. Total price for two adult meals, a kid's meal, a juice, and a coffee was $35...typical. Negatives...plates are way too big for the amount of food on the plates, and the size of the tables. At a 4-top, the table top was crowded because of those giant square plates... unnecessary and a nuisance. The nasty, room temperature tap water is a huge negative for me. I'd like to go back to try their brioche French toast, but will be bringing my own bottle of water when I go back. read more

First Watch is one of my favorite breakfast and brunch places to go. I could go every week if I had time. The food is always spot on with flavor and I love the seasonal menu that changes so you get more options to look forward to. The juices are very fresh and delicious. The potato side is perfectly seasoned and cooked. The greens are delicious. Definitely worth it and people are always nice. Came here on a weekday for late lunch with my Mom. See I grew up in 'the CYP,' and now when I come back to visit there are so many changes. Cypress is now getting more trendy, and finally getting food options that are unique and original like this one (rather than the typical suburban chain restaurants). I ordered the Pork Belly Power Bowl, and shared the lemon ricotta pancake stack. The Pork Belly Power Bowl was served with two sunny side up eggs (one that was over cooked), some quinoa, and pickled/onion/daikon radish slaw (kimchi if you may). The pork belly was delicious. I think the slaw was a little overpowering, so I separated it on the plate. The lemon ricotta pancakes were so delicious and creamy inside. I didn't even need syrup. The flavor was great. The last thing I can comment on, would be the service. With this being a weekday, the establishment seemed a little short on people. The service was a little slow. Good clean place with a nice extensive menu. The service was good and it's decorated cute with a lively atmosphere. However there aren't gluten free options outside of the 2 power bowls and their option of making French toast with GF toast which was unfortunately really dry. The breakfast taco's were good. Its alright and a good option to have farm to table in the suburbs but I give it 3 stars because I've been 3 times and have just never been impressed by the food. read more

Been to this location a few times and there were issues each time. The first time we went our to go order took an hour and a half to come out when we were told it would be 15 min wait. The next time we visited there was a hair in our food and the silverware was dirty. Won't be going back. read more

So I am typically a fan of First Watch, but my first visit to this location was a bit disappointing. Positives: The wait was 25 minutes but on a Saturday, that's expected. The waitress was friendly and came to greet us quickly. Our waffles were pretty good and the eggs were fresh. Negatives: There were several kitchen issues. My "million dollar bacon" was more like $5 burnt bacon. They went to remake it but brought it back drowned in syrup. It was not like the bacon at the other locations. My friends waited to taste since I bragged about it on the way... they weren't impressed. My friend's order wasn't correct either. And I watched the waitress take back a few other orders that weren't correct. I don't know if this is a fluke for my first visit, but I hope that my next visit is better. The bacon is good as it is. Don't overcook it. Don't drown it in syrup. read more

This is my local breakfast place and Im always drawn back because of close proximity but this will be my last time. The service has definitely gotten better after alot of complaints from the public but it's still not great. The food Is marketed as heathy but it's PACKED with sugar and salt, it's practically unedible. After the third dish I had to push aside I requested that the cooks know the criticism. I was fully prepared to pay for my meal and had no intention to get a free dish. The manager takes my meal to the back and you see through the glass everyone making snarky commentary. Shes Comes back and starts with "well you've eaten a bit so unfortunately you will still have to pay". Really? First Watch is an American breakfast and brunch cafe where everything is made to order and freshness is never compromised. I found out about this restaurant on Yelp. Walking in to the place, I saw it was PACKED. I asked the host if I could be seated outside and she kindly obliged. I know, I'm crazy for wanting to sit outside in the Houston heat, but their outdoor seatings were luckily covered with patio umbrellas. I ordered the Morning Meditation juice and the Ancient Grains Protein Bowl. The Morning Meditation is made with orange, lemon, turmeric, organic ginger, agave nectar, and beet. It had pretty colorful layers of red and orange and it was tangy and sweet. The flavors of the ginger and beet were subtle. When the server brought out the Ancient Grains Protein Bowl, a group of girls were walking by and one of them said, "Dang! We should have ate here. That plate looks good!" I couldn't have agreed with her more and replied saying "Shantay you stay!" The Ancient Grains Protein Bowl consist of quinoa, farro and brown rice topped with two poached cage-free eggs, all-natural chicken breast, fresh avocado, lemon white balsamic vinaigrette and super seed crunch. It also came with kale, watermelon radish and a house-pickled onion salad. I was surprised they gave me an entire avocado sliced. I know how expensive avocados can be, so I was bit shook. I never knew something that looked so healthy could taste so good. Everything on my plate tasted lovely. My favorite part of the dish were the brown rice and the chicken breast with the eggs. The holy trinity! I am now obsessed with this place. I'd love to go back to try their best-selling Spring favorite, Millionaire's Bacon. First Watch is only open for breakfast and brunch.
