Since there is, what seems to be like, a chicken fried steak competition going on in Tomball and Magnolia, we had to go back to CC's for lunch to try their chicken fried steak. Everything was really good but the gravy and green beans were way too heavy on the pepper. I was also kinda bummed that it didn't come with one of those incredible biscuits they make here. The toast just didn't fit. The chicken fried steak was perfectly crispy and didn't have a lot of loose batter. The onion rings...oh my heavens. The onion rings! Those things are amazing! I took my leftovers and let my order half eat them because he didn't mind the heavy pepper. I just don't expect to have my mouth on fire from pepper while eating chicken fried steak. Overall, we will go back. Breakfast is great and I'll just order something else from their menu.

First time visit the service was great but the food lacked flavor. The chicken fried steak was a huge portion but had no flavor (lacked salt) my chicken sandwich was good but the chicken could've used more seasoning. Good family ambience.

Always a solid spot for breakfast or lunch in a hurry. Service is genuine and doesn't sugar coat. Better than a Waffle House in terms of food quality. Highly recommend the o'Brian potatoes and the Texas Cheesesteak.

This place is very clean, ladies are very nice, and the food is fresh and yummy. The salsa that came with the omelette was really good! I can't wait to come back to try different dishes here!

Pleasantly surprised at how tasty everything was. My dad wanted corn tortillas and they made it happen. Great service.

1st time trying out CC's cafe and I can't say I was impressed. It was about 11am on Saturday when we arrived, they weren't super busy, but the restaurant was fairly dirty. Our Server Danielle was very personable and attentive, once we ordered our food it didn't take very long for the hot, fresh breakfast to show up. I ordered the Garden Omelet and specified, no meat. It ended up coming out with meat on it, but the waitress fixed it in no time with no problem. When it came back it was good, the veggie to egg ratio was a bit much, but it tasted good. My wife said her tacos were very bland and light on toppings, she also had the biscuit and gravy. She said that the biscuit was amazing, but the gravy had too much pepper. My sister in law had just a waffle and I could tell it was dry and hard just from looking at it and her taste buds experienced just what my eyes observed lol. I just wasn't extremely impressed with my experience at this cafe, not terrible, I can't say it was great. We might potentially try it again with different menu items.

The food was good 16.5 out of 15 good music, clean bathroom, service was a little slow at first took some time to get menus but picked up.

4 stars for service. 2 for food. Hubs wanted to try to place. Ole time place with Ole time signs. Red glittered seating, a diner. Very attentive waitstaff and everyone was. Prices were outrageous except the Senior section. Food, I will defer my opinion of that. I am not a rush to return.

Killer chicken fried steak!! That was what was left AFTER I finished eating!!! Great service, great food!

This is hands down the best breakfast in Tomball. Our waitress, Sarah, was super sweet and everything we ordered was piping hot and flavorful. I've passed this place for years, but now we'll be stopping in a lot more often. If you like a good country meal, then check it out.

They accommodated us with our stroller and made it work. I am so excited that I found a farm to table restaurant where I feel like the food is good enough quality to feed my baby. We paid $50 per person for the brunch buffet and the baby was free since she is under 2. The food was delicious! They had an amazing assortment of fresh fruits, cheese, breads, salads, breakfast foods, dips, pasta, and veggies. They also had a carving station with steak and chimichurri sauce. I tried the chicken sausage, steak, beet hummus, tomato salad, whipped feta, biscuits with jam, and an assortment of the veggies & fruits. I also ordered over easy eggs and French toast which they make and bring to the table to keep them fresh but they were included in the buffet. After eating we walked around a bit to see the farm and the animals. Such a cute place for a date or a family outing. Overall, it was a great experience and I would definitely go back to try their normal menu.

Just a heads-up: everything is made to order, so it may take a little time. Be patient and enjoy the moment.

First of all, the guy at the counter, does not show any appreciation that you chose this place to eat. He is simply there to take your order (no smile or thank you). I ordered beef nachos to go. When I opened the bag, there was runny sauce (white/yellow) all over the bottom of the bag and underneath my container. I have never had nachos so soggy and runny cheese. The only reason I'm even giving this 2 stars is because the meat was flavorful and could've been a great review. I'm sad for a waste of $ spent on very runny soggy chips/cheese. I will give this establishment one more chance before I remove it from my "go to" places. I really want to like this place and support the local business!

Pet Peeve 2 all the prices rang up a dollar or two higher than the menu prices. (Soup and sandwich menu price 13 rang up 15) I understand inflation is a thing but if you're going to raise prices, go ahead and hit print on some new menus. It's a short menu, it's only two pages long. Second fact, prepare to wait. Maybe one chef back there hand wrangling each burger or sandwich by hand. Third fact there's about six tables with comfortable chairs and the rest have hard plastic chairs. so if you are coming at a busy time, you aren't going to have a padded seat. Countering these irritations is the fact that the food is actually really really good. It is simple fare, but really well done. The potato soup hovered just on the soup side of the line between potato soup and mashed potatoes, but had fresh crispy bacon and scallions added right before serving. The roast beef sandwich had sliced roast freshly from the oven just for this sandwich. So we got five star food but the rest of the package doesn't add up for me. I'm going to give it four.

It's been quite a long time since I was here and as I was in the neighborhood I decided to stop by again today. Remembering how good they were last time, I ordered the Oma's Frikadellen (grandma's recipe for all-beef meatballs). I like a good German meatball and these were tender and juicy. There was a choice of red cabbage or sauerkraut as a side; having confirmed they made the sauerkraut in-house themselves, had to order that because I know it's super healthy to eat. Better yet, that sauerkraut was almost perfect with a great flavor, but not too tart and just really a delicious version. Honestly I could've eaten a huge bucket load of that sauerkraut and I may buy some to go someday just to have it on hand in my refrigerator; a slight warm and it would be a wonderful side to serve guests. Dessert was a wow! I wanted to try a dessert that they made themselves and so I couldn't help but go with one of the dessert specials of the day. There were several options available not on the menu and although it was tempting to try the tiramisu or one of the three versions of crème brûlée they make, I decided to go with their homemade limoncello cake which turned out to be a delicious choice that I'm very happy about. Waiter Ty said it was one of his favorite desserts here and I could taste why -- moist cake, flavor-filled filling, whipped cream and with blueberries to decorate the plate. In fact it was so yummy that I decided that so someday soon I would order one with a couple days notice and then take it to my family's place next time I go over for dinner - what I don't know is whether I'll tell them the truth or try and pretend that I made it myself LOL :-) Update: the next day I did call to order an entire cake and it didn't last very long once the family dug in, got gobbled up because it had an intense great lemon flavor, wonderful.

"My Homework Turned Into Date Night (with Myself)" 02-14-26…read more I came here on Valentine's Day to do a writing assignment my professor gave us, and I have to say, I thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and the food all the same. When I walked in, the hostess offered to seat me in the private party area. I declined and told her, "I'm here for a writing assignment," and asked if I could sit somewhere with a clear view of the bar. She didn't hesitate. She told me to follow her and led me to a booth with a clean, perfect shot of the bar, front row without having to climb onto a stool. She handed me a menu and told me to enjoy my evening. The bar itself was shaped like an oblong oval ring with gold seats lined up like little lifeboats, almost like a ship's bridge. Above it, about ten flat screens hovered in an oval formation, suspended in the air. Upside-down margarita glasses and champagne flutes hung overhead like delicate chandeliers in an expensive mansion. The bar area was filled with couples and solo diners enjoying the screens, sipping margaritas and champagne, and crunching on complimentary chips and salsa. Customer service was fantastic. My server, Ale, was highly energetic, lively, knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I felt very well taken care of during this dining experience, which was supposed to just be a writing assignment, but it turned into a rewarding little night out. The complimentary chips and salsa were also pretty good. The atmosphere was vibrating at a high-energy level. There was loud laughter and conversation all around, the sound of dishes clanging in the kitchen, servers moving back and forth, and bussers scanning the room for abandoned tables to clean. For my appetizer, I ordered the shrimp crab cake along with a Cucumber Melon Margarita on the rocks. Both were absolutely delicious. The crab cake was mouthwatering and delectable, and that margarita was refreshingly fruity and strong, so good I ordered a second one. For my entrée, I ordered the beef fajita plate for one with cilantro rice, charro beans, and corn tortillas. I also added a side of the La Viva Shrimp (bacon-wrapped). I don't eat pork often, so I peeled the bacon off, and even without it, the shrimp was exceptionally tantalizing, full of bold seafood flavor. My entire plate was the bee's knees. I can't even explain how good the food was. Food Ratings Shrimp Crab Cake: 5/5 La Viva Shrimp: 5/5 Beef Fajitas: 5/5 Cilantro Rice: 5/5 Charro Beans: 5/5 Overall, La Viva Cantina is an upbeat, lively spot serving delicious comida with great customer service and an inviting atmosphere.
