First Watch is great for their use of fresh ingredients and unique flavor combinations. Some of the things they are doing have become much more mainstream (avocado on sandwiches, bean sprouts, etc), but this stuff was groundbreaking in the midwest 10ish years ago when this chain showed up. My favorite is an altered version of the First Watch special Monterey Club (Turkey, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato, cheese and mayo on multigrain bread). The twist is to ask for a fried egg on the sandwich (similar to what they offer as standard on the BLTE). Also, not sure what is in their house dressing besides sugar and poppy seeds, but I could almost drink it. Waited 30 minutes to be seated but that was expected. I ordered the Baconado omelet with greens and the UDi's gluten free toast. We also ordered decaf coffee. It was undrinkable so I asked for regular which was much better. My omelet was barely warm and the toast was barely toasted and barely warm and was not buttered. I asked for butter and it came in a little stainless condiment dish and it was full of crumbs. YucK. For a $10 omelet I damn sure expect excellence. This was VERY disappointing . We were in the mood for breakfast for lunch and nobody does it better than First Watch. Thick slices of brioche bread, large waffles, fluffy scrambled eggs were served. It's all good. Plenty of lunch options too. I chose to get the honey dijon pecan salad and it was awesome as well. Crisp greens, grilled chicken, and the tastiest warm, spicy/sweet dressing loaded with chopped pecans. Definitely a new favorite. read more

Decent spot for breakfast or lunch, but it's pretty ridiculous that a place that bills itself as a bit more gourmet than your typical greasy spoon doesn't offer alternative dairy products. A little soy, almond, or rice milk for the coffee would be great. The Bacado omelette is my favorite thing. The sandwiches and soups are decent but unremarkable. On a quest for the best of the best breakfasts in the area, the wife and I ate here. The food is more trendy/upscale than your typical breakfast place. I had the Bacado (bacon & avocado omelette). Very tasty. Came with toast and salad, which was fine but I guess I'm a traditionalist as I would have been happier with potatoes. The wife had Classic Eggs Benedict, but she said they were stingy with the Hollandaise and she preferred it on English muffins instead of Ciabatta. I thought it was very tasty. The place was a bit crowded on a Friday around 10, but we had no wait. By the time we left, there was one. I was not happy with my experience here. I ordered Eggs Benedict, it was brought out with the poached egg overdone to the point of being hard boiled. I let the server know, and the dish was prepared again but this time the egg was completely underdone. The white part of the egg was barely cooked, and was raw in places. So I never go out to restaurants since Covid but wanted a good brunch to go. Ordered on line and was notified that order had been placed at 10:29 and would be ready for pick-up at 11. I drove over and got there about 10 minutes early. Place was packed inside and out - no social distancing, and even people w no masks standing inside in front of counter- no staff members said anything! The girl hostessing said my order would be out in a few minutes. I waited till just after 11 then went to ask again and girl said she would check on order. She returned and said the order had just been placed ten minutes ago. I showed her the email that said order had been placed at 10:29 and she shrugged and said that is not what the kitchen said! I went outside to avoid people and watched for my order. Didn't get a text or email that it was ready but went back in and saw my name on a bag sitting on the counter. I picked it up and left. I live within five minutes of this location and when I got home the order was cold and not very tasty I have always enjoyed First Watch on Feedwire, but will not be returning to this location. read more

The Dayton Mall location's service has fallen off greatly under the new (last year) management. Steve (I believe the former manager's name) and his staff is sorely missed by our family. The current manager is not nearly as friendly and seems concerned when we frequent here after 2 pm. I have confronted him on making us feel I welcomed and he said it was unintentional. I believe actions speak louder than words. Food is still great here but management and service needs improvement. read more

We typically enjoy First Watch; frequented the location on Colonel Glenn location in the past. Since moved to Centerville, decider to stop by the Dayton Mall location for breakfast. Unfortunately we left very disappointed. We ordered an elevated egg sandwich, farmhouse skillet, and kid's bacon and eggs. The seasoned potatoes came out cold, eggs easy over were barely cooked (large portion of the whites were still clear), and son's scrambled eggs looked like a fried egg that had been chopped up. I could understand if a restaurant is slammed with customers and they get a few things wrong, however it was a normal crowd and they seemed to mess up on things that should be second nature to a breakfast spot. read more

This place is the absolute GOAT! If you don't know, GOAT is an acronym for greatest of all time and this place exemplifies that exactly. I went for a long walk the other day and stumbled upon this place and decided to try it out. The staff was warm and friendly and were very excited that I was there. I ordered a delicious egg omelet which you can fill with almost anything! I got bacon, ham and even delicious goat cheese added to mine. I've had omelets at other breakfast places that tasted like a tin can, but this one was perfect. Pricing was very fair and portion size was perfect. Ate today at the location at 11301 Montgomery Rd, Cinti, Ohio. I had the seasonal soup which was the Butternut Squash soup it was horrible! It tends to be one of my favorite soups but this was very thin not much flavor at all, what a bummer! Secondly, I had another seasonal item the Mixed Berry Toast. The brioche was dry and needed more of the lemon ricotta it too didn't have enough flavor except too sweet. Then I accidentally spilled my water all of my lap and on the floor and our waitress didn't seem to care or know and a front door greeter offered to give me napkins after she went up to seat some people first? Really hand me some napkins first then say I will be right back it was just plain weird as I was sitting soaked in water, thank god not coffee. I will not be back again I usually go to the Liberty Township location in West Chester, Oh and no problems there. But, the soup was very disappointing and also the Mixed Berry Toast, yuck!! My husband and I had breakfast here for the very first time, since we received a gift card to try it out. We were seated with no wait but the atmosphere seamed a little heavy like we were not dressed well enough to be there, I was not aware of any dress code for a breakfast cafe, we got our coffee as soon as we were seated and after reviewing the menu the server asked if we were ready to order. I said yes, I'll have some biscuits and gravy since the online menu stated they offered this as a side she was very rude and stated this is not that kind of place. Ok we'll what kind of place is it then? And why does your online menu have it listed? I was ready to go at this moment but my husband said lets stick it out since we have the gift card and won't be coming back. So our meal came in a timely manner but the side of fruit that came with my husbands meal looked like it had been reused and NOT FRESH as they claim everything is. My omelet had brown avocado on it and if you're familiar with avocado you'll know that if it sits out to long it turns brown. I really wanted to like First Watch when I went. The service was decent but my main concern was the food. I ordered a dish with avocado in it and the avocado was completely brown and had weird spots all over it...I get that avocado changes color quickly but I don't know how a chef would be okay with serving what I received to a customer. When I said something to the waitress, she didn't really apologize but took it back and they just put new avocado on that was still spotted but not as brown. (Mind you, I never EVER complain about food at a restaurant). To top it all off, some of the dishes were sticky. I found this gem by using Yelp, so I thought I would write a review. I have been there each of the last 2 Sundays for lunch and they have been very busy. I only waited for a table about 5 minutes each time I visited and have been served efficiently both times. The food quality is second to none and the value is great at around $10 a dish. I used to work in the restaurant industry as a manager and believe that a restaurant is a direct reflection of its leader. The manager ( certainly it was the manager, based on his awareness..a bald guy with a beard and black glasses) was working in the dining room, and was politely, but specifically, directing waitresses toward meeting customers' needs, which was impressive considering how busy he was. I saw this same manager working in the kitchen on my second visit, and he was very focused and smiling the entire time, with a million orders coming in! You dont see that everyday! The waitresses are sharp and the store is extremely clean. First Watch has a new biggest fan! Try them out, you wont be sorry!!! read more
