We went to First Watch last week while traveling through this area. I had never heard of First Watch until last year, then I started hearing about it from everyone. It seems like they are expanding nationwide and from this visit alone, I can see why. While it is a chain restaurant, it doesn't feel like it. It really feels like a local spot. The quality of the food is great, the service here was exceptional and quick, and the food is very economical in my opinion. We had a larger table and everyone got a variety of things, but the highlights were the pancakes, the steak hash meals, the blueberry cornbread. Everyone left happy and satisfied. The team here goes above and beyond for its customers, they seem very patient and again, service was just incredible. We couldn't have asked for more. We appreciated our visit and I look forward to trying new locations soon since we don't live nearby! read more

Bread very dry, stale. Tje melted cheese covered up the ...ugh! I failed to finish it. The potatoes were a mixture of old overcooked with newer still solid/cold in the middle. The food was amazing, I got the classic Benedict and the seasonal strawberry French toast tres leches. My son got the kids grilled cheese and a cup of fruit which was really good as well. Their coffee was fresh and hot. The service was pretty quick but we had to wait for 45 minutes for a table though, having an online waitlist would have been convenient instead of having to wait outside with a kid. I was just commenting the other day that I wished more restaurants had vegetables at breakfast. We stopped into this busy First Watch for breakfast and I was happy to observe that most dishes had a side of greens. Many of the egg dishes also included vegs, so yay! We split a golden cinnamon roll which had a gold knife, although the gold sprinkles had melded into the frosting so it had lost its golden color. It was lukewarm and with too much frosting, so it was just ok. Our breakfasts were decent, my frittata was slightly warm. There are a lot of interesting dishes to accommodate different dietary needs. Bread and Apps: The Chibatta bread stick was good. Dinning Area: Pretty large, and open. Prices: overall decent. Nothing was outrageous. Parking: Plenty of space, shared huge lot. Trivia: What three creamers can be found on the table in a small bowl? (Tip, if only one or two are available, you can ask for the third) I don't remember First Watch having cocktails. They looked so good. BUT, hard to pass up their coffee! A whole pitcher of fresh coffee and several different individual creamers to choose from. Food: I was happy to see that the menu was the same as the menu I was used to when I lived in Florida. It's a great menu with lots of variety. Breakfast tacos, at least five different pancakes. Sausage, gravy, and biscuits. And I didn't even pay attention to the lunch menu. It's a place where the picky eater, or the carb conscious, or the health nut can all choose meals that will make them happy. Ever wanted to get just one pancake because you can't decide between the pancakes and the omelet, or the power bowl? Well, you are in luck! Ordering one pancake is available! And they are large enough to share. Ambiance: Also, great valley girl conversation at the table next to us. Seriously, who needs a boyfriend with a mom who is so judgmental? Every time I go to First Watch it's like my first time. I can't get over their waffles. I usually ask for a chocolate chip on top of my waffle and it makes it even better. I love the coffee as well and great staff. read more

The service alone should deter you. They sat us down at a very dirty table, that I had to clean myself. We sat down for 15 mins before we, ourselves had to walk to the front to get someone to come to our table to at least get our drink order. The coffee had chunks of coffee grinds in it that you could choke on it. The food was nice but they could not get the order right and left out food that I did want in there. The floors were dirty you could tell they don't clean or sweep every booth or seating area after the guests leave. I would not recommend coming here. Some food was good, but the overall experience leaves you with a bitter aftertaste. read more

Hubs and I were looking for a quick breakfast not far from our hotel in Fairborn, and given the nice experience we'd had with two of their locations in Maryland, we gave this one a try. Good decision. We both had the French toast and split an order of the million dollar bacon (can't remember if that's the exact name), both of which were great. They do a good job at First Watch, from the varied menu (with helpful calorie counts listed for each item!), to the efficient, friendly service. When an omelet is ordered cooked light, it should not be served with a crunchy tan ring encircling it. When it is sent back to do over, it should not be served with all of the brown spots hidden on the inside. Eggs are delicate and lose much of their flavor when overcooked. Some further education for the cooks is needed. Someone needs to turn the temperature down and pay attention to the orders rather than cooking everything at the convenience and mass-production of the kitchen. Let's get it right!!!! read more

Million Dollar Bacon 10/10. Perfectly cooked, on the softer side with a little crisp on the edges. The seasonings and maple glaze were absolutely delicious. Great flavor as a whole. Classic Eggs Benedict 8/10. One of the better ones I've had. One egg was more cooked than the other.. not runny at all, which is fine with me cause I like it better that way. The other was a little more runny like over medium. Hollandaise was a great consistency and had a nice touch of lemon flavor to it. Potatoes could have been cooked a tad more and a little more crispy. BLT Eggs Benedict 7/10. Kyles rating. He says it needed more bacon. Cinnamon Toast Coffee (seasonal) Kyles rating: 2/10. He wasn't a fan of the coconut rum, and said it was a little too sweet for him. He added more coffee to it. My rating: 6/10. I could taste the coffee and the cinnamon. Didn't taste the coconut rum very much though. I think it would have been better with a more milk/cream base. Pomegranate sunrise (seasonal) 8/10. Fruit flavor was really good and sweet. I have never been here and probably would never have stopped but my daughter and her family have gone many times. My young grandson has multiple allergies and suffers from EOE, so if he does have food he's allergic to he becomes violently ill. It's been very difficult finding places to take him without having to pack special foods he can tolerate. This restaurant has several different types of foods that he can eat and not become ill. It's only a 20 minute drive and it really offers lots of options that routine breakfast spots don't have. The atmosphere is up to date, clean and staff is prompt and helpful. This is definitely going to be more of a regular spot for my husband and I now that we've gone. read more

I recently visited this first watch. I ordered the eggs Benedict with potatoes. The plate came with a side of greens that were undressed. I asked the person who brought the food out if I could have some dressing. She never returned. Shortly after the waitress came by. I asked her for something to put on the salad greens and she got it for me. As I ate my eggs Benedict, the bread seemed stale and hard, not like something that was freshly toasted. Also half of the potatoes were undercooked and hard as well. Our waitress never came back to the table, I was hungry and ate what was decent, leaving the bread and half of the potatoes behind. When the waitress came to take our plate, she asked how everything was and I told her. Her response was, "I could've fixed that". The only problem was I never saw her and she never came back to check on us. And then went on to say, "sorry about that". Service was below average and her response really made me think she didn't care at all. Some First Watch restaurants are great, this one not so much. read more

I had historically been a pretty big fan of First Watch, but they seem to have veered away from classic breakfast items to more chichi light-brunch fare. In my opinion, I think they've outwitted themselves with this maneuver. Instead of a scrumptious breakfast, you're a lot more likely to get kale tonics, avocado toast, and dandelion salads these days. If you're a health nut, perhaps this is up your alley, but upon my last visit I left unimpressed and empty-stomached. I believe that healthy foods can be delicious, but my most recent memory of this place makes eating feel like a chore. read more

My fiance and I didn't hesitate to seat ourselves at the sofa seat. We were quickly introduced to by our waiter who took the order for our drinks. When we were ready to order, he took our order swiftly and didn't hesitate to answer my questions about the sizes of the soup and salad on their choose 2 menu. We were told that we could pay slightly more to upgrade from a cup to a bowl size soup and decided to do that. On our way out, getting out of the sofa seating was difficult because of the arm rest that is a part of the sofa. The table was placed very close to the sofa so it made it difficult to squeeze out of it. Portion: 4 When our meal came, it was clear that I was given the cup size for the soup and was confused. The woman who brought it to us told us that it wasn't possible to upgrade the size and went to tell our waiter to come over. When he came by, he explained that if we ordered the bowl, he would've had to charge us another $3, and the difference was only 2oz. Confused, we nodded and started our meal. Flavors: 5 The kale salad was refreshing, but probably could have used a bit more kale to balance out each bite. The dressing was light and just right because it didn't cover up any of the natural taste of the ingredients. The soup was a little on the salty side and tastes like basic tomato bisque. I kind of wished they put something to make it stand out like fresh basil. Overall, I might come back to the restaurant to try something else on their menu. RE: the FW in Fairborn, OH: I wish I would have taken a pic but I was so disappointed that I didn't. The hubster & I wanted to have a nice breakfast before catching an early movie so he picked First Watch the night before. It was a great plan; eat early at 8am and then drive to watch a movie @ 9:15am then have the rest of the day free. It all went along fine until my plate came. I ordered the Skillet Hash - Farmers & the hubster got the Turkey Sausage, gravy, biscuit and potatoes. His potatoes arrived 70% burned and he immediately asked them to take it back. The server pushed it back and said, "I'll get you some more." And she did and the new bowl of potatoes were only 50% burned. She asked me how mine was when it arrived; I told her it would due except I hadn't lifted my egg yet. It seemed like they took yesterday's leftovers and heated them to charred. As if that wasn't enough, my skillet hash was more like farmers produce in an oil soup. I used one whole napkin to soak up the oil and lifted one side of my bowl to watch another 1/2 c. of oil to drain out below. It took 20 minutes for the server to come over and check on us. I then told her I didn't want this and she asked why. I showed her the oil coated, drippy napkin and the oil still in the bowl. She grabbed them, took it all away, brought the bill, noting that she'd taken off the plate I ordered. No apologies from her + our experience = a no return for us. read more
