The parking lot was crowded. Lots of people waiting for tables, but I found a seat at the counter. Service was friendly and instantaneous. My Reuben was perfectly grilled on a flat top and appropriately greasy. The corned beef was coarsely shredded and also grilled to perfection. Ditto the Swiss cheese. My only complaint? I like my sauerkraut to have serious tangy kick and this sauerkraut was Ohio-mild. The ambiance has a bit of a rural farmhouse vibe. The others seated at the counter were friendly and chatty. We love the mom & pop feel! The food is plentiful so don't be surprised if you have leftovers (win!). The pancakes are massive and it's enough to share with 2 other people as well. Every time we visit, the food is always delicious and the coffee is always spot on. We always leave satisfied. Dishes that we've gotten that I can remember: cowboy bennys, pancakes (plain, chocolate chip and blueberry), omelets, French toast, & muffins. All very simple meals, but worth the trip. Customer service is 10/10. Everyone is so nice! There is ample parking. It is much better compared to their previous location, that's for sure. Things to note: the wait can be long! UPDATE: super disappointed their previously homemade corned beef hash has been replaced by what appears to be a canned version. The kind with the dog food like texture with tiny square potatoes. I ordered the Breakfast C again (I had it on my first visit) and either remember it incorrectly or a change has been made. My mom really enjoyed her breakfast burrito and the hash browns were perfect but the patty of fried Hormel felt completely out of place and an (potential) unwelcome change. I arrived around 1pm on a Thursday, it was a holiday but still. The parking lot was full. I walked in and was greeted quickly. I also seen a seat at the bar so I checked and yes I could sit at the bar without a wait. I sat down and ordered coffee. Then looked over the menu. I will say I am not a fan of the flavor of coffee, but I am a coffee snob to be honest. I ordered one of the platters, it came with hash-browns, bacon, eggs, and a pancake. Not only was the meal absolutely perfect, the pancake was fluffy and flavorful, the bacon was medium as I asked, hash-browns crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and the eggs; I requested scrambled and I will say they were soft and perfectly done. The pancake was massive and I sadly could not finish it all. The place was very clean and everyone was very polite. I wish this was closer to my house, but very much worth the almost 40 minute drive. Visited the Blueberry Cafe with my stepdad recently and absolutely loved our breakfast! The Host stand was a bit hard to find as it is tucked on the back wall behind the items they are selling in the front of the shop. (Would have given 5/5 stars if not for the confusing host stand/ locating waitlist. I would recommend moving the host stand to the front to ensure customers are greeted upon arrival and not standing at the front door for 5-10 minutes.) Our wait was roughly 20 minutes and we arrived around 11:30 on a weekday. The amount of food for the price is exceptional. Absolutely loved the French toast. Highly recommend. Now I just need to stop by their new Kettering location. Service was excellent as well. read more

We greatly value local owners and local businesses; staff is cheerful and well-trained. Food is very good. We have been fans of this property and it's former location for decades, as have many, many folks. Parking is adequate. We find the noise level to be very, very loud. We object to the two top "combat seating." BlueBerry is a diner, and this is fine. It is past time for management to update menu, portions, seating, noise levels,.... BlueBerry is NOT a pancake house with its limited options. The Huge pancake is simply not practical. We greatly dislike the use of Huge platters as plates on the Small two tops. Service and attitude is excellent. Limited menu choice offers Excellent dining. We may order takeout, and pass on the noise assault of in house dining. read more

Thought this place was great until I got a peek behind the scenes. I worked in the kitchen. I watched the short old lady in the back take her glove off and dip her sweaty finger into soup and coffee to "temp test" it on numerous occasions. When I was trained I was told by management to pick up and use food that hit the ground so long as it looked fine. The "kitchen manager" had no idea how to properly clean a flat top grill until I got there. I worked at penn station previously and knew how to. The only time things were kept legitimately clean in the back until it was found out that the inspector was due any day. My wife and I used to eat there all the time and once I started working there we never ate there on one of my off days and I didn't trust food unless I made it myself. We haven't been back and won't be. The only person there who does good at keeping his stuff clean and safe is Tony "the muffin man" but he is technically a partner with blueberry cafe. I would recommend thinking twice. Not to mention the bitch who runs the place fired me because of a medical issue was resolved within a couple weeks of being let go. read more

We've been coming here for years, but no more. Our server was Amy Lou and she was very rude to us. When we went to order she came over and said as hateful as she could "What do you want"? We ordered breakfast and the over medium eggs came out cold with the whites still raw and running all over the plate, sausage was petrified and coffee warm. She was nowhere to be found for around 15 minutes and when she returned we told her the problem and we only ate the toast, so obviously still hungry. She looked out the window and just stood there. We told her we would take the bill, she went to retrieve it and slammed it down on the table took our card and came back and literally throwed it at us. The only caveat is that you have to check-in within that 30 minute window, or you forfeit your spot in line ... so don't call ahead unless you're absolutely certain you'll be there in 30 minutes! Another brilliant hack ... they take reservations for parties of six or more! Get together a group of friends or family and call ahead to reserve your table. We made our reservation for Sunday at noon the Friday before ... so plan ahead to ensure your table. The atmosphere and the food here are great ... but what really stands out is The Muffin Man. You may be thinking - doesn't he live on Drury Lane? You'll be happy to know that he's relocated to Bellbrook, Ohio, and he's dishing up some of the best muffins you'll ever eat in your entire life. The Muffin Man doesn't just sell muffins - he shows them off. These muffins are truly works of art - and his presentation does not disappoint. I don't know if he's there everyday ... again, we visited on Sunday, so maybe it's only a weekend thing? Either way - it's worth calling ahead and asking if he'll be in when you're planning to visit. My husband and I went home with a Banana Muffin ... and it was divine. The center was moist and cake-like, while the top had a chewy crust-like quality to it. Did we order wrong, or did this place not live up to the hype? This is what my wife and I were asking ourselves after trying Blueberry Cafe for the first time. I always try to give a place the benefit of the doubt, so we will try it again the the future. However, our first experience was underwhelming. My wife and I both ordered different variations of their French toast. I also ordered a side of their biscuits and gravy. The French toast tasted like something anyone could make from home, with little flavor and no flare to the dish. The biscuits and gravy were ok. It was a very smooth and peppery country gravy with minute and barely noticeable sausage bits. I prefer more girth to my sausage (that's what she said) - at least in a "sausage gravy." I suppose if all you cared about was not making your own breakfast, this would be the place for you. The prices incredibly affordable, which made the lackluster of the food easier to swallow. Another win here would be the portion sizes I notes on certain orders throughout the restaurant. They were eye-popping and impressive - so you can get a lot of bang for you buck here. When I go again I'll order one of their platters, or the cowboy bennies. I hope to be as enamored by this place as many of the other die-hard fans writing these reviews. My final review is in flux. The water tasted strongly of chlorine so I don't recommend it. The food arrived in a timely manner & looked good. My eggs were cooked just right. My main complaint is that the hash browns were not crispy but instead very oily - pretty much floating in grease at the bottom of the bowl. I do like how their omelettes are fluffy and their pancakes are huge. It is a real bummer, though, that there are no real vegan meal options. Confused as to why their Yelp page lists that there are vegan and vegetarian options. Eggs, bread, and fruit are vegetarian, but there's no intention to provide vegetarian or vegan options. Guessing that they don't have to cater to vegans since they're always busy, but it'd be nice for my vegan family to have an option besides a fruit cup (especially considering how easy it is to use nondairy substitutes in breakfast recipes). Food was good but showed up kind of cold. Service was okay but since we were in the extra room we didn't see servers that often. We must have hit them on a day when they weren't running 5stars. The monkey bread French toast was simply awful to me as it was so dense and tough? The pancake was pretty good. My cowboy breakfast was so chilled by the time it got to the table that I ate the eggs off of it and boxed the rest. We took our leftovers home and I recooked everything and it was delicious?!
