Birthday mode activated I'm grabbing brunch with friends on Sunday morning, but honestly, I'm not sure why we always forget to document it. Either way, our three hour conversation made up for it. I would suggest if you want to come to first watch and not have to wait in line between 8:00and 8:30 is your best choice. We all had the traditional eggs, bacon, hashbrowns toast , I had a mint Chocolate Chip iced coffee. I do have to say I passed by establishment multiple times not really knowing that it was a first watch. Service was good. Food was great so if you're looking for a brunch spot First Watch in Fairway is a good choice.

The lemon blueberry cornbread is a must try! The purple haze is pretty good super sweet and refreshing! Love the chorizo omelette! I would definitely get on the waitlist online if you want to guarantee a spot your family in a timely manner. Great service, super packed and loud but worth it!

The First Watch on Fairway has to be one of my favorite locations. The front reception attendee was very welcoming and there was ample space for waiting until the table was ready. Our server was attentive and kind. The food was delicious. Sometimes the eggs have a little bit of a funny taste I'm not sure if it's my taste buds or the eggs but I don't have any complains aside from that.

Stopped in to this location for the first time in awhile. We were seated immediately but after waiting awhile at our table we had to ask the host who our server was. She came up about that time. She was friendly and our orders were correct. The food was consistently good as most First Watch locations. They got our orders correct. The restaurant was casual atmosphere answered good level of normal noise. I would say just checking back more with the customers would be helpful.

Went for some brunch today with some friends I hadn't seen in awhile. First Watch is always a go-to option for a good and fresh meal, but I had never been to this location until today. For coming in at about noon we were immediately seated which was fantastic! At most of the other locations we frequent, we typically wait anywhere up to an hour during the weekend. The server immediately took drink orders, and by the time he came back we all knew what we wanted to eat. The food came out fast and it was all delicious and just how we ordered it! I highly recommend trying one of the seasonal offerings when you go in, they've always got something great on there! My only complaint would be that the parking lot is super hard to find a space being the grocery store is right next door.

Service was good, waiter was attentive. Breakfast burrito wasn't as flavorful as it looks. Cinnamon chip pancake was very good, heavy on the cinnamon. Keep your water glass close by. Also noticed an extra .50 added to the receipt for it, didn't question it but at $6.59 for one pancake plus the added .50 that's pretty damn pricey. The Hibiscus cranberry juice was sweet and the cinnamon was a nice addition that gave a punch at the end and balanced the tart flavor. Perfect for the holiday season!

This is a fan favorite breakfast restaurant for my family when I visit. I have been here a handful of times. I usually stick with the Sunrise Granola. I'm not a huge breakfast eater, so when I do go out for breakfast I try to keep it as simple as possible. This time I decided to get the Eggs Benedict-Florentine, however I'm allergic to Avocados, so I asked for it without Avocados. The waitress repeated this back to me, and all was well. My SIS and Mom ordered from their 'Spring Menu' the Salmon Toast. I have a bite of my mom's and it was delicious. My nephew got some eggs, toast, and bacon. I'd say he ate 90% of his meal, he enjoyed it, plus he is a growing boy. My Mom and SIS really like their Salmon toast. For my dish, I started with the arugula side salad that was included. It was yummy, and it was dressed evenly, and not overdone. The Eggs Benedict was a nice change of pace for me, I ate 1/2 and started to feel sick, I tried not to think about it, and powered through. As I cut into the other half, I noticed there was a piece of Avocado on the breading. I moved it off with the fork, and didn't eat the bread, egg, or spinach it touched. However, I was already feeling sick. My Mom and SIS could tell I was in pain and when my mother went to pay, she told them about the mishap, they discounted her a portion of my meal only. I had a drive home back to Minnesota after that, and it was the most uncomfortable 7 hours. Most people think an allergic reaction to food, is puffy, swelling, can't breathe, which is all true, however, when I ingest Avocados, I get very ill, sharp pains in my stomach, throwing up, sweating, etc. Like I said, most uncomfortable 7-hour drive back to MN. I was later talking with my mother and blamed myself for trying something new, at a restaurant my whole family enjoys. My mother pointed out however, that it isn't my fault, and frankly they should have compensated my whole meal. I am not going to dock this review a star because I know in the past I haven't had a problem, and the staff has always been very friendly. Maybe I should have stated I'm allergic, but I didn't. I now know for the future. I mostly feel horrible my mother ended up paying for my meal.

***update: went back a second time and my experience was worst than the first. For a meal costing more than 10 would have expected to get more potatoes. Also would not recommend getting a frittata which was more inion than egg (if anything, get an omelette and make your tummy happy)

As I venture further into consulting and meet with more people, I'm less interested in simply asking, "Is this a good coffee shop?" and more interested in, "Who is this place good for?" I came to Prairie specifically looking for somewhere to collaborate. Good tables, enough room to spread out papers, sit across from someone, compare laptops and actually have a conversation without feeling like you're taking over the entire coffee shop. Urban Prairie absolutely fits that bill. What I wasn't expecting was how much more there was to it. There's a game store attached, which was such a cool surprise, plus another room with larger tables that would be even better for brainstorming or working with a small group. Then right in the middle you still get that classic cozy coffee shop atmosphere people actually want. Some people need a quiet corner and headphones. Some need a place to catch up with a friend. Some of us show up with two laptops, papers everywhere and ideas to work through. Urban Prairie gives you options for all three. I'm going to keep trying different coffee shops around KC with that mindset because sometimes the best review isn't whether a place is "good." It's whether it's the right place for what you need that day.

We loved the little set up with a great amount of seating, a clean bathroom, and outlets for people who want to study or get some work done. Once our order was ready one of the employees was happy to explain to us how to properly drink the yerba mate. She was patient, kind, and professional the whole time. There's definitely a trick to drinking it without getting the tea leaves through the straw. As we enjoyed our snack and drink we could tell the caffeine kicks in a little later. So, if you're up to trying traditional yerba mate, be aware that you'll get a gradual burst of energy a little later. I personally loved the decor and the atmosphere here. They had little knick knacks you could purchase, a small refrigerator with items to take with you as well. Maybe I'm not the creative type, but in this world of iced coffee and tea.... I truly never thought to try an iced London Fog. It is delicious. I've also had their iced Matcha Agave. So very good. They aren't cheap, that's for sure, and given how much the ingredients must cost.... I have to say I think they're overpriced. Delicious, but overpriced. It means that instead of getting one every day- and I absolutely could drink at least one a day- I'll get one once a week, and start making my own at home. The one complaint I have about their drinks is this: coffee seeps into EVERYTHING, even the glass bottles they use. I could smell coffee whenever I took a sip of my Matcha today, and it was an unpleasant thing, rather off putting. They ought to adopt the practice of using some jars for coffee and some for ONLY non coffee beverages, to avoid that. The shop itself is pretty cool- not a TON of seating, but huge bookshelves filled with books that customers can just take and return. Everyone I've run into has been friendly, and I've noticed the times that I've been there that even with no customers in the shop, they seem to keep themselves busy rather than looking at their phones. So.... Altogether pretty great so far with the exception of the residual coffee small and high prices.

The photos looked amazing, and this place has solid reviews so I was walking in with a certain expectation. What was remarkable is how it was even better than I thought it would be. Let's start with the ambiance. The actual cafe is very small but charming. If it's cold or rainy outside you might need to skip Le Champion unless it's not busy as I think only a few folks can really fit inside. The inside is well designed though, and feels charming without being overwhelming. What stole the show for me though was the patio. As someone who studied abroad in France it felt so French to me in the best way. To me, it feels like taking a Parisian cafe and mixing it with a hip KC bar - it doesn't feel necessarily exactly like one or the other, but it compliments both and feels uniquely it's own in the best way possible. On the day I visited it was absolutely gorgeous outside and I had one of the best breakfast burritos of my life, mostly due to their chimichurri sauce. I also pretty much add a star for any place that keeps espresso tonic on the menu. Overall I love Le Champion and can't wait to return.

The staff was helpful, friendly, and welcoming from the moment I walked in. One thing I really appreciated is that both their 12 oz and 16 oz drinks come with two shots of espresso, which is a nice bonus. They also have some really unique flavor combinations. I ordered the hot Blackberry Buckle Latte and added white chocolate mocha. I'd never had a blackberry coffee before, and it was surprisingly delicious. It wasn't overly sweet or syrupy. Instead, it had a more balanced, almost savory flavor. You could actually taste the blackberry without it overpowering the coffee, making for a really unique and enjoyable drink. The only downside is that the inside is pretty small. If they're busy, it can feel crowded with customers waiting and ordering since there's not much room to move around. However, they do have outdoor seating with four tables (three shaded by umbrellas) and about six additional individual chairs, making it a nice option to enjoy your coffee outside. Overall, if you're looking for creative coffee flavors, quality espresso, and friendly service, Hi Hat Coffee is definitely worth checking out.
