Greeted at entrance and held door open for us (I'm on a Rollator so very pleasant experience upon arrival that I rarely experience.) Seated quickly and server was there in under one minute and gave us a bottomless pot of coffee and brought Splenda (which is not on table.). My wife ordered avocado tacos and said they were excellent. Her grits were excellent! My food however was not great. Ordered beef hash and eggs. I really wanted corned beef hash but not on menu. Beef chunks, what few there were, were actually cold as in right out of refrigerator cold while all the other ingredients were just right so it's like they tossed them in at last minute with no time to warm up! Overall it was very heavily seasoned and after a few bites I lost my appetite. Way too salty too. Again the grits I ordered on side were excellent. I took 3/4 of my meal home to try to eat later and perhaps add some corned beef hash to but haven't had the desire to finish yet after two days so likely I won't eat it. Something about the seasoning and overly salted that didn't sit well with me. Overall this is a very pleasant upscale restaurant but there are zero bargains on menu ($54 with tip for 2 people for breakfast = very high IMHO.) Music was a bit loud as we were almost directly under and between two speakers. Could just be me but I can't see any need for high volume music in such a nice restaurant. Perhaps when it's busy it helps with the overall din? Checkout was super easy with QR code but I dislike the 18% low end suggested gratuity. Let me decide. I know there is a customized tip capability but 15 vs 20 should suffice. Less for poor service which I doubt you will get at First Watch. However I cannot ever recall in my 76 years tipping any server more than 20%. Overall the food selection is fairly non-traditional and limited. 1 pancake is $9. Seriously WHO orders just one pancake? If one goes to Cracker Barrel you can get 3 pancakes, a meat and two eggs for a buck more. And delicious. This place is definitely more upscale but honestly it's about the food, right? I prefer good tasting food vs upscale so likely we won't return (but man those yellow grits with a big scoop of butter on top were delicious - better than Cracker Barrel for sure!). If I should ever return I'm ordering two sides of grits (or a big bowl) and that's it! Out for under $8 + coffee. Not sure how this chain will survive but if I were the operations manager I'd find a few menu items to sprinkle in that appeal to us tightwads, with hope some will order the higher priced offerings. A very basic pancakes, eggs and meat for ~$10 would get my attention. Almost all their menu items were in the $14-16 range which is like dining in the big city. Too much for Fredericksburg I'm afraid. It's not that we can't afford First Watch, it's that First Watch's (2 of them) are out of their element here. I wish 'em luck but fear, like the past tenants in that building, they won't make it unless they can find a menu that packs people in 7 days a week. There were probably only 4 tables occupied during our Tuesday at 11am visit. My father owned/managed several restaurants growing up and he always said you can put a restaurant in a barn in a cornfield 20 miles from no where but if the food is excellent and price is fair the public will beat a path to your door every day! Not the brunch hoped for ... Ordered the Biscuits & Turkey Gravy with Eggs for myself and The Works omelet for my wife. Both orders also included a side of seasoned potatoes. Starting with the seasoned potatoes, ... they were under-cooked, still a bit hard or crunchy in the middle. My wife's omelet included onion that was cut too large, still had skin attached, and all of the onion was clumped to one side of the omelet. Actually, that can be said about all of the items within the omelet, none of The Works ingredients were spread throughout the omelet, everything was clumped in its own pile inside the egg ... which was dry (overcooked). I've had lots of Biscuits & Gravy in my time, and 99% of the time the gravy is thick, white gravy. Not at First Watch, it was more "transparent" than white. And that says a lot about when the gravy isn't right. Not sure if this is a First Watch norm, but I won't be getting Biscuits & Gravy again. It wasn't right. We would have shared this with our waitress, if she would have checked on us before the end of the meal. It wasn't a great experience at all. The manager did give us a discount, but we will not be in a hurry to go back. There is definitely some room for improvement in the kitchen and with cooking to be made. read more

We came in on a Saturday (8/2/25) around 12:30 or so and were warmly greeted by the hostess. She informed us (party of 2) thst it'd be about a 20 minute wait. When we asked if the wait were shorter for outside, she quickly went to check. Great news: immediate seating was available (the weather was an unseasonably lovely 75°!)!! This was our first visit and I was super excited: friends had raved about htis place AND a new location was about to open closer to us down in Central Park. The menu isn't large, but that's not always a bad thing. I'm of the belief that a restaurant should focus on doing "a few things" and do them really well rather than do a ton of things halfway. The ambiance is casual, comfortable and clean. Even on the patio, everything was sparkling and nothing was sticky!! Our server Melissa appeared pretty quickly and took our drink order. When we told her it was our First Watch , and asked her opinion on food, she quickly mentioned "the breakfast tacos are ALWAYS great." She mentioned a couple omelets that are super popular as well. But since we had just come off a beach getaway and love the first response from staff, we BOTH chose the Breakfast Tacos. They come with a side of seasoned black beans (neither of us is a huge fan). My husband asked "is it worth it to upgrade the potatoes to 'Million Dollar Potatoes'?" And Melissa gave us a very confident, "yes, definitely," which convinced my husband! I figured I'd try the "regular" potatoes (diced and lightly cooked with slivers of onion). Despite the nearly full restaurant, our food was delivered pretty quickly and everything was accurate. I smeared avocado into my taco and dug in... fluffy eggs, plenty of cheese, well-seasoned and creamy thanks to the avocado. I like my breakfast potatoes crisper, but that's on me. These were fresh potatoes (not frozen or battered like many other places) with slivers of sautéed onion and nicely seasoned. My husband enjoyed his tacos free of pico and avocado. But the brunch blockbuster was his side of Million Dollar Potatoes... oh my goodness they were DELICIOUS!! Creamy Parmesan cheese, LOTS of crispy bacon chunks, perfectly seasoned with fresh diced potatoes presented in a ramekin. There was enough sauce to add some of my potatoes into the mix and convince me that there should be no other way to enjoy potatoes!! Melissa was attentive and friendly without being intrusive. Drink refills arrived just as my husband and I were going to flag herr down!! Seriously, when servers can't read a table, it drives me crazy (I'm a former server myself). I love first watch, so I was so happy to see one in this area. They did not disappoint! Always consistently flavorful and great service. We started with the started with the purple haze. It tasted like a lemonade with lavender, very basic. For our mains, we ordered the Tri-fecta and 2 for you. I've been to so many First Watch's I should be on the payroll! They opened this new spot in F'burg and I couldn't wait to check it out. And they didn't disappoint. Location is clean and what you come to expect for ambiance. Indoor and covered outdoor seating. Fresh drinks and their standard offerings. Service was good once we got someone to notice we were seated. That was a little off but shout out to Rebecca who was on point once she was appointed to serve us. My only disappointment was my favorite which is the banana nut crunch pancake. It is usually the size of the plate but it was quite smaller today. Still delicious so I won't complain much. We really enjoy visiting First Watch restaurants for breakfast, have for many years now... So, we were happy to hear there are two in the area newly opened... this one and a much newer one in Central Park. We stopped in here one Sunday recently for breakfast, getting there around 7:15AM soon after they opened and they already had 6 tables sat! By the time we left, they were pretty busy. The menu is the standard, as they don't have the seasonal specials yet and won't for a few months until they're past their "newbie" status. The service we got was great, friendly, helpful, and expeditious. The food we got was GREAT! Perfectly prepared with fresh ingredients and tasty too! Considering they were still in the soft launch phase when I went in, they did a good job. The waiting area is massive in comparison to other places, and at least here there's plenty of room outside. Service was fast during the week, and the food was the typical first watch standard. My go-to is the elevated egg sandwich with home fries. It hits the spot every time! The bar at this location is massive, and it's great to see the drinks menu has expanded some. I didn't see a specials menu for food, but this might roll out later. This is the first time we finally was seated to eat. The menu has a lot of healthy food that looks delicious. I tried the BLTE with a bowl of vegetable soup and my daughter ordered the chicken quinoa bowl this morning. The inside is decorated nice and has a lot of seating. The coffee is pretty good. However, nothing really stood out as exceptional. The service was friendly but a bit slow, even though the place wasn't very busy. I took my sister out for breakfast and this place is located in Southpoint off 95 south exit 126 on a corner lot with plenty of parking. As you walked in, the restaurant is very clean, modern look, a waiting area, left of hostess stand is the beverage/bar area, plenty of seating interior as well as exterior. There were 4 items ordered: 1) Cheesy grits 2) Farm stand breakfast tacos 3) Roast beef and Havarti sandwich 4) Blueberry pancake. When the cheesy grits arrived to the table, it wasn't what I expected. It wasn't as creamy and smooth like most and it was a little bland. The blueberry pancake was light and tasty. The highlight of our visit were 2 items. First the roast beef havarti sandwich had a light crispy on the sourdough bread, layered with a lemon arugula, roasted onions and sun-dried tomatoes. The components were well balanced which made this sandwich outstanding. It was served with a ramekin of creamy horseradish which enhances the flavors as you spread it on before each bite. The second item was the farm stand breakfast tacos. When I took that first bite, my palate was so incredibly surprised and amazed. The unique flavors were outrageously delicious and with every bite, the umami grew and grew. It was also served with a large ramekin of black beans and pico de gallo. After a long, long wait, First Watch finally opened in Cosner's Corner. And we finally were able to go. Hubs and I had eaten at First Watch in NoVA previously and were thrilled to see one coming to our neighborhood. It seemed like it took for-ev-er to open; now that I've been there, I think I know why. This facility used to be a Famous Dave's and then was taken over by Fatty's something or other. Fatty's looked like Dave lost his keys, they slapped some paint on the wall and hung a new sign. First Watch must have gutted the place and started over. The inside had the distinct look of a FW and I couldn't remember how the other two restaurants looked. It was fresh and clean and bright. The food did not disappoint. It was really great - I had the half sandwich and half salad combo picking the hot ham and the Cobb salad. The sandwich was not big but the salad was huge for a "half" salad. The coffee was strong and really good. The service was excellent. Our server did a very nice job of making us feel welcome while, at the same time, encouraging us to turn that table. A skill not everyone has and executed well. Y'know what I mean: 'here's your check but feel free to stay as long as you wish.' It is loud in there. There are no ceiling tiles and no sound buffers any where. If you are hearing impaired or wear a hearing device, it might be a difficult place for you to have a conversation while eating. It is pricey. It's not the most expensive breakfast/brunch/lunch joint in town but it is up there. The food is fresh and good so I expect to pay a bit more. We will go when we can but, in these economic times, it's not going to be as often as we would like to go. Save your pennies and make a pilgrimage. It's worth the wait and worth the trip. read more

While visiting from Hawaii, different friends invited me to no less than THREE of these restaurants. I love the lemonade and the million dollar bacon. At each location, I tried different dishes and enjoyed each one. The oatmeal was a little thick but the milk and brown sugar is just enough to prepare them to your own taste. Arrived on a Wed. around 1015am....one person....ME....plenty of seats had to wait.....took me to a two top I sat on the couch side....sitting on that side the table is way too high for a 5'4" person. Sat and sat until the waitress came by......ordered since I looked at the menu before arriving....Tri fecta......with scrambled eggs, waffle with maple syrup, and bacon and water. Food arrived warm best thing was the waffle....eggs were eggs, bacon was bacon....they charge 1.79 if you want the true maple syrup. Finished eating waiting again....waitress was busy flirting with two men and she was bending over backwards to help the couple beside me. Lowered her tip because of all of this....will not come by again....22 plus is way to much for that....I can now say I have been there......and have NO intention of ever going back. read more

Great food and service at THIS location! We put ourselves on the waitlist through the app - and it worked perfectly. It automatically checked us in as we approached and we were seated immediately. Katie took great care of us from the start and all our food arrived hot and (most importantly) accurately!
