More like 3.5 stars...definitely middle of the road, good but not great. I visited on a Friday morning and sat at the counter since I was alone. It was about 10:30 on a Friday so the place was not busy. It took a bit for the server to acknowledge me and take my order. After that the service was excellent. It's a chain, so it was clean, etc. The coffee was weak (as expected) - which I don't understand since a lot of ppl enjoy strong/ bold coffee. Why not offer that as an option along with decaf? Apparently every single juice glass was in the dishwasher so my OJ was served in a plastic cup. I ordered the BLT eggs Benedict - this is the description on the menu: "Two poached cage-free eggs atop toasted ciabatta with bacon, vine-ripened tomato, avocado and lemon-dressed arugula and covered with hollandaise. Served with lemon-dressed organic mixed greens." The eggs were poached too long so they were no longer runny. The bacon, ciabatta bread, tomatoes and avocado were all super thin. There was only 1 slice of avocado that I could barely find in the mountain of greens. The greens were not lemon-dressed or otherwise. Maybe they were running out of hollandaise since there wasn't much of that on my plate either. I wish I had taken a picture to post here with the pic online to show how sad mine looked. read more

First watch soft opening was a great experience. It was overflowing with staff, delicious food, homey feelings and good company. The million dollar bacon is delicious it may be basic but bacon is amazing and it can be messed up but I was surprised with the delicious flavor it offered. The kids menu is lacking in variety besides breakfast and a grilled cheese but my kids seemed happy. It seems more like a healthier sophisticated but relaxed setting less kid friendly. I think this is a great brunch spot though. I opted for the veggie sandwich that I was disappointed with because it lacked flavor in my opinion. The salad was good but the dressing options were slim so I didn't enjoy it with the non honey mustard option. My husband got the Ruben and I'm not a Ruben fan but it was packed with flavor. The service was great even though they were in training. Very friendly and they seemed to be pretty attentive. As a whole it's a must try. We have first watch in northern Kentucky where I am from so love to see it down here. It's the best breakfast you can get. Always excellent quality and healthyish food. I got the works omelette and subbed a biscuit for the toast. Wife got the carrot cake pancake meal which she enjoyed but they overcooked the pancake and it was somewhat burnt. She still liked it. They were packed but they the line moves quick and we were seated in 15 mins. read more

I was very impressed by this restaurant when I dined at the Simpsonville location (prior to this location opening) and always enjoy the food at every visit. My personal favorite are the lemon curd pancakes and they have never disappointed. I have had everything from omelettes, pancakes, grits (and bacon of course!) to the roast beef sandwich and everything is always fresh and delicious. My only criticism has to do with their potatoes- I personally find them to be way too salty and therefore never order them- but that could just be my personal preference and not anything to do with the preparation. I have only ever had one waitress that was not what I would consider "good at her job" - and all my dining experiences have been top notch in the customer service area. Restaurant is always clean and bright and on several occasions the manager has walked around checking in with guests and inquiring about the food. Always nice to see they care and want to make sure the customers are satisfied and take care of. Prices may be a bit higher overall compared with other similar restaurants but the quality of the food you get here far exceeds a competitor. A great place to eat in Greenville. read more

My husband and I love First Watch anywhere we go and it's our first time in South Carolina so naturally we came here for brunch. Our server was Chandler and he gave some of the best service we've had in a really long time in a restaurant. Super friendly, attentive, great attitude and yummy food recommendations. First time at this place was last Friday 1/19/24 and it did not disappoint. The breakfast was absolutely amazing and service was very hospitable. I had a latte with toffee in it, forgive me for not remembering the name of it but it was sooooo good. And I picked the Chile Chorizo omelet plate and cheese grits and it all was so good. First and last time. I'm not paying over $40 for an egg breakfast for two ever again. My daughter and I went and had a traditional egg breakfast. I had sausage and she had bacon. I asked for eggs over hard. I don't even know what I got but it wasn't that. A couple of pieces of toast and we each had juice. You'll also not see the tip range on the receipt as 15, 18, 20%. While the service was good the food was left to be desired. It took about an hour to come out and when it did everything was over cooked and dry except for the potatoes, they were raw. Eggs were rubbery and a little brown. The pancakes were splitting into 2 pieces like it was pita bread. The restaurant is deceptively larger than you would expect when you first enter. I ordered at the bar and was treated to attentive service by Maddie Barber. She helped me land on selecting the BLT Benedict as my breakfast dish. The highlight of the dish is the hint of lemon in the hollandaise and the buttery side of grits I got. It gave me the feeling of "my chic and successful friend invited me over for lunch". I wanted the featured juice and a hot water (yes I'm weird, I know). Service and timeliness were great. Food is pricey. My coffee cup was dirty. Then got silverware out of napkin and it was dirty too. I had the crab avocado toast with eggs over medium. First of all - it is your fault. You should have someone working there who makes sure that every order goes out appropriately. Secondly, YOU ARE GOING AGAINST WHAT WAS ALREADY PROMISED TO ME BY YOUR CO-MANAGER. Seating was a breeze, probably a 10 mins wait for 4 people. We ordered the Italian omelet, Florida French toast, biscuit and gravy, and kids waffles with a side of pork sausages. So I've been four times now & every time things seem to get a little worse. The first time was soon after opening & it was great! The second time was also great but was a bit slower to get served. The third time was good, but literally took 45 minutes to get food & that's after waiting an hour to sit. The food was not as good as the first two times but I assumed it had to do with how busy they were. This last time was Sunday 5/24. We walked in & were immediately seated (which was great) then ordered pretty quickly (also great). Wife & I both ordered the traditional & the food came out in a timely fashion; however, it was just the eggs & bacon...so we let our server know. She then went to the back & a few minutes later the plates came back with the potato's & toast. Unfortunately the eggs were cold & not good, the bacon was not as good as my first couple experiences & neither of us finished our breakfast. The couple next to us also seemed to have issues & were not thrilled & mumbled that they would not be back. The place is slammed, so maybe they just can't produce solid food when they are that busy or they can't get good kitchen help. For a $40+ bill...I expect way better & probably won't be back any time soon. Pretty disappointing considering it's close & my first two experiences were good. The last two..not so much. The food was absolutely amazing. The Chikichanga was amazing and our Gingerbread Spice Donuts were delicious. Our service was great, and our waitresses were great. Hannah and the waitress who was training her, Georgia, were absolutely amazing, as we could crack jokes, (and tell Hannah a little bit about insurance, as today Nov 22nd 2023, is her 25th birthday) and could start great conversations.
