Unfortunately, I loved First Watch but lately they've been missing the bar. Most recently, we went in a Saturday morning and our food was HORRID. My farmhouse hash had RAW egg whites on top, cheese that was chewy & looked reheated, and missing avocado. My boyfriend's waffle came out cold to the point he was unable to melt butter on top. When we brought up our concerns, the manager demanded we "plead our case" regarding our complaints, and that their butter "doesn't melt because it is cold OUTSIDE." EXCUSE ME? I came here to wait for my husband who was running errands in the area. The service was very friendly, and despite a pretty slow start (took almost ten minutes for someone to come to my table and the place was not crowded), they were prompt after that, and very nice. I started off with some coffee, and it was delicious! I highly recommend it. They give you a whole pot of it, and it's not much more than if you ordered a single cup at most other places. It's a great deal for some delicious coffee. I also really liked the decor. It was a nice mixture of modern/sleek and traditional farmhouse items. Cute pots and pans, and even weathered looking windows and paneling, were arranged in contemporary fashion around the restaurant. The colors were a mixture of blues and browns and yellows and more, making the atmosphere bright and cheery. But if I'm honest, I only want to give this place three stars. I thought that the food was way overpriced and not actually that great. I paid a pretty penny for my entree, French toast. What came out? Two lightly egged(?) and buttered pieces of toasted bread with some powdered sugar sprinkled on top. The small cup of raspberry jam that came with it was delicious and packed a flavor punch, but I really felt that for a total of right around $10 with tax, it should have come with at least a small side. I have definitely had better, fuller meals for much cheaper. Another Broken Egg is in a similar price range, and you get a TON more food per dollar than you get here. Maybe I'm being nit-picky, but I like to be honest with myself. Also, the French toast itself was not memorable. Definitely not bad, but really felt more like buttered, toasted bread than French toast. I felt like they were trying to cut corners or something. I would not order it again. Would I come back here? Yes. I would be happy to try something else and maybe I'll change my opinion. (I hear that the million dollar bacon and the Floridian French toast is great.) But my final verdict (and TLDR): while it's a cutesy place to go and I loved their coffee, I have found faaaar better deals and significantly more food per dollar at other places. read more

I am always down for breakfast. And I love that they serve it almost all day (until 3 pm that is). I went to college out of state and had the fortune of living in the same town as a First Watch. It was my favorite place for brunch at the time, and was a place my parents enjoyed eating as well when they were in town. I was pleasantly surprised when they opened this location in my neighborhood and was excited to see if the food was still as good as I remembered it from my college days. A couple months back, I reserved a table for my parents and myself thru Yelp. I made the reservation on a Sunday morning and I loved that we didn't have to go and wait to be seated. It gave us an estimate on when our table would be ready and we ended up timing it perfectly. We were pulling up to park when I got a text that our table was available! They have a pretty big menu with a lot of options. My husband and I do not eat pork and this can often be a challenge for us when eating breakfast or brunch. However, First Watch had a couple different options that fit in with our dietary restrictions. I ordered the Tri-Athlete (egg white omelet with house-roasted Crimini mushrooms, onions, tomatoes and green chilies). Because I think people that only eat egg whites are crazy, I opted for the full egg omelet instead. It was served with pico de gallo, toast and fresh fruit. Our food was promptly cooked and our waitress was very attentive with checking in on our needs, refilling our water and coffee pot. They were obviously very busy on a weekend morning, but I didn't feel like the service suffered at all as a result. We did have to park all the way at the opposite end of the strip center, but none of us minded the walk and at least the parking was free. First Watch is quickly becoming the norm in brunch/lunch cuisine. Its hipster/modern tastes is clearly pushing the IHOP/Denny's niche. I like First Watch, its got great facilities and a very nicely done interior. They are well staffed everyone is mostly busy doing something. My latest visit is to this location and you can tell right off the bat, we got a newbie waitress. Growing up in restaurants and having waiting experience, there's a certain swagger, walk, movements experienced wait staff have. Particularly, this wouldn't be a big deal if the waitress is knowledgeable, however our decisions were affected by her ignorance of food items on the menu. We asked how many biscuits their Biscuits and Gravy side dish has, she said 'Two'. However when it came out it was just 1 biscuit cut in half, with gravy ontop. Had we known it would have been $5 for 1 biscuit with gravy, we wouldn't' have continued with the order. We also asked her what kind gravy would come with our dish, she pointed to the menu and told us to read it carefully. Now, let me reiterate that its ok to be a new waitress learning the ropes, but when their advice is different then what comes out, it affects our perception negatively. The food is great and we had an overall good experience. However when it came time to pay for our food, we had a $20 gift card that was given to us through Yelp Elite from First Watch's CEO. The manager told us we couldn't use it because it wasn't signed by him or assigned to any store. Given the point the manager made, I understand where she was coming from since she's worried about not getting reimbursed internally. However, at the end of the day, we clearly had a First Watch gift card that was presented at a First Watch, yet we were not able to use it. The manager did redeem our experience and did us right by giving us a discount on our food. Came here for my birthday brunch and was in awe!! The food was so fresh and delicious :) they have a lot of options with their menu and offer a good variety. I'm not a big fan of eggs which is odd because my favorite meal of the day is breakfast but the eggs at First Watch were pretty tasty!! The frittata and omelets are so unique and full with flavor, I would definitely come back and try all of the options they have to offer! Although I was having a great time with my family, I would have like our waitress to be a bit more helpful with the menu and more friendly but given it was a busy day she was an also gal!! The food is very good but the service is spotty although everyone is pleasant. What the manager also needs to do is to institute a policy that prohibits customers from playing their phones or video games out loud (i.e. all technologies must be on mute!). On Sunday, my party had to switch tables 3 times just to get some piece of mind and not hear someone's phone. One table was watching a football game with the volume up loud. At the other tables, kids were playing their videos games, but they could easily have been muted. Forcing other paying customers to endure such noise isn't ok. The food flavor is very bland and they try for more healthy breakfast. It's hard to go wrong with breakfast. My breakfast was served to me very cold.
