What a great find in Johnson City! The menu is unique and the food is incredibly good. Fresh and changes daily. I can say that because liked it so much I went back the next day! Cheryl, my server, made it a memorable experience too! She was funny, excellent service, I would be a regular if I were a local!! The place rocks! Loved the granola bowl! Cute decor, great ambience. When they first opened, the service sucked. We stopped coming until recently, they seem to have the strong servers left with a few new ones now. I am glad the server who made us not come back for a while is gone now. All of the current servers are great, John is one of them who give 120% every time, even when he is not your server. Their coffee is good, I like how they give you the whole carafe but my new favorite beverage there is the Acai squeeze. It's not as tart as the Kale tonic and not as sweet as Morning Meditation. Eggs Benedict, chickichanga, the elevated egg sandwich, chicken avocado chop (salad) are always good, but I am not a huge fan of the avocado toast here. If you agree, try Tupelo Honey' s version. And during our visit today, I tried pesto chicken quinoa bowl... it's huge! And delicious. I never knew quinoa could pack so much flavor before. Our server was telling us that the chimichuri sauce is also really good if I wanted to substitute instead of the pesto, but since I LOVE anything basil, I kept the pesto and asked for the chimichuri in the side. I went here several times while I was in town, and it was quite excellent. I had the protein pancakes, coffee, kale juice drink, and the bacon and avocado hash (not all in one visit, thank you!), and I was pleased with all. The one thing I absolutely do not recommend is the biscuits and gravy - bleh. Turkey sausage gravy is just not nearly as good as pork gravy, and this was just not the southern biscuit and gravy flavor (or texture) that I was desiring. That said, this will be somewhere I frequent from here on out when I'm in town. I really wanted to like this place. The staff is friendly and the menu looks good, and it's 3 minutes from my house. But so far I've been underwhelmed. On the first trip, I got the Benedict with lox. The eggs were perfectly cooked but the flavor combinations on a whole just didn't do it for me and the dish wasn't saucy enough to be a good Benedict. I chalked that up to my preferences and gave the place another shot. On the second round, I got the breakfast tacos. They came out understuffed and with obviously old avocado on them, black stringies all through them. They looked like they'd been cut into chunks the day before and left in the fridge. I love avocado but I took one look at the avocado on my tacos and discarded it. The tacos were just okay otherwise and the black beans were lukewarm. The avocado is what did it in for me. Not only was it inedible, it was visually entirely unappetizing. It smacked of being prepped by someone who didn't care about the quality of the product, which makes me sad. I don't like going to restaurants that make me sad. I'll be sticking with Main Street Pizza, Tupelo, and Maple Street for my breakfasts out. read more

Just what the area needed- a restaurant dedicated to fresh brunch options! I had the Tri-Fecta which was a sampling of eggs, choice of meat (bacon, sausage, turkey sausage) and waffle or choice of multigrain pancake (flavor options available). This place was really delicious! The service was fantastic; we were seated within minutes of coming in even though we were expecting about a 15 minute wait. My husband ordered the eggs Benedict and I got the Chickichanga. Both were delicious but again the service was awesome! When the eggs Benedict came out one of the eggs had broken. The server said they would be bringing two more eggs right away. They didn't just ask if we wanted a different egg, they didn't just say sorry, they just took care of it! And the food was delicious! We had the millionaires bacon and it was by far the best bacon I've had. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could. The only reason I wouldn't give a full 5 would be because I got a paltry little slice of avocado on my meal. But after I asked for more they brought it out quickly woth no upcharge. Ok so I am a Health Nut. I got the Tri-athlete egg white veggie omelet. I substituted a biscuit for the toast. The veggies in the omelette were really good. No cheese, caramelized onion, diced tomatoe, and fresh mushrooms. I appreciate the care they took in making the omelette. Very lean with no visible oil. The biscuit was nothing short of amazing. Probably the best biscuit in town. You can go online to their website and see the nutritional information on everything. You can even add and subtract items to see how much carbs or fat you are saving. I found out the multigrain toast was more carbs than a biscuit. No brainer! Will def be back! read more

I would go 4.5 if I could. This place was awesome. Really nice ambience and the food was fresh and delicious. Saturday morning at 10am and we only waited about 10 minutes. Portion sizes are really good. The steel cut oatmeal and pancakes were delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly. The service was extremely attentive and engaging. I watched what other people ordered and everything looked spectacular. We didn't try the fresh juices but will next time. One tip for the restaurant from an experienced traveler and foodie: the managers hovered over tables like hawks ready to pounce at any moment without engaging the tables. I like the attentiveness and understand the need to flip tables but it was quite extreme and uncomfortable at times. This place would be a five if not for the hovering management. I ordered a chorizo omelet that was so pathetic, it might have only been 1 egg and a sprinkle of chorizo. Barely any other ingredients. Half of my wife's potatoes were burnt. Donut holes were good but didn't even come out warm! The "hot chocolate" dip was Luke warm. The wait times to get a table are stupid long but also the wait time too receive your food also terrible. We didn't even complain bc we were so hungry after waiting at least 2 hours from when we put our name on the list until we received our food. Overall, not worth it. We will not be back. Save your money and go elsewhere. Sad to say but you'll get better food even at chain restaurants in town like Cracker Barrel. read more

Very pricy for a long list of menu items which are essentially different combinations of the same breakfast food. They advertise their food being sourced from local farms, but the processed taste of their sausage/chicken hints otherwise. They have select seasonal dishes which are phenomenal, but the non-seasonal items are mediocre at best. The portions are also too small to justify the high price and long wait times. We were staying in Johnson City, TN and our host recommended First Watch for breakfast. We ordered the Inspired Italian Omelette and Skillet Hash Parma. The meals were delicious and bursting with flavor. "Best breakfast ever!" says my husband! The coffee was also excellent. We returned for breakfast three more times during our stay. The food and service were excellent each time. Jeremiah served us three times. We returned because of his great service. Cold chorizo brings disappointment, like the clouds bring rain. I've got to admit, I'm not one to frequently leave reviews, but I'm pretty disappointed about today's experience. My partner and I decided to start off a weekday "staycation" with breakfast at the Johnson City First Watch, before a springtime day on the river. We had recently gotten back from a trip to the southwest, and although I saw the chorizo sandwich special, I opted for the Chile and Chorizo omelette. The level of prompt service and the atmosphere were exactly as I remembered from numerous enjoyable visits over the last few years, but today the execution left quite a bit to be desired. When our food arrived, everything looked great, but to my dismay when I took the second bite of my entree, I discovered that everything other than the egg in my omelette was colder than room temperature. Thats right, the chorizo, green chiles, cheese all were noticeably cold to the touch, and I couldn't bring myself to swallow anymore. I rotated my plate to come at the omelette from the other side, hoping for a warming trend, but sadly, found the same result. On the positive side, both literally and figuratively, I focused on my sides of seasoned potatoes and toast with jam that were both tasty and plentiful, but my omelette stuffed with un-warm sausage and chiles was about as appealing as a port a John on day 3 of a music festival. My partners breakfast was everything she had hoped for, and I helped her polish off her "million dollar bacon" which was decent, but nothing to write home about. The place was typically busy, and I'm glad for that, but for the homies in the back of the house, please throw the cold Mexican sausage on the flattop for a bit before playing this dish. read more

The waiters/waitresses I've had the last 3 times I've been have been nothing short of friendly and helpful. Enjoy the conversation with them each time. I've had the chickichanga, mile high egg sandwich, and the egg hash. All of them are my favorite! You can't go wrong with any of them and I highly recommend adding the roasted red pepper to dishes that don't already have it. Also the million dollar bacon is a must! There is usually a wait especially with church traffic though it's not bad and you can check in on yelp to reserve a table for up to 6 people which can help you beat the crowd. If you do have to wait they have complementary coffee and water to sip on. I enjoyed the farmhouse feel of the restaurant and can't wait to go back! Just throwing this out there to the mimosa drinkers out there, they do not have a liquor license just yet. read more
