Both food and service were great. Usually, there is no need to wait for seating. It's a very reasonable place.

If you want a taste of classic old school…read morediner - the kind where food sticks to your ribs and service is warm and honest, you owe it to try out Midlands. It's a place you're likely to encounter your grandparents l, who come here because portions are generous and it taste like it always has. Nothing fancy. Pancakes are the winner - they are fluffy and nearly sweet enough to eat without syrup. Eggs are fine and hashbrowns are plenty though you might be hoping for a bit more crisp. Lunch will need to wait until another visit but I can tell the club sandwich and side of biscuits will be easy choice along with open face turkey or meatloaf. It's grandma's kitchen for certain, and it always has a place in my heart.

I was wrong, but it was worth the wait. We got our names out down and waited about 20 mins for a table to open up. Our server was very nice and super busy. She got our drink orders and then when she came back she got our food orders. I got the breakfast sandwich with ham and the homestyle potatoes and fruit. My husband got the early bird special, which goes until 11. It was a little wait for the food which was completely understandable. When it came out, it came out hot and tasty. The sandwich was served with an omelet style egg and tasted really good. The homefries were delicious, they were cooked with onions that added a little sweetness and had a little crust on them from the flat top. My husband really liked his meal. It was a good sized portion, with 2 biscuits, eggs over easy, 2 sausage patties and gravy. He turned them into little biscuit sandwiches. The biscuit he said was really good and gave me a piece, it was light and fluffy. The food here is down home comfort food that hits the spot. Service is super friendly. It's a place worth checking out if you are passing through or just coming to if you are a local. The prices are great, food delicious, service friendly and fast, you can't go wrong.

I especially like the restaurant atmosphere. It's very comfortable, upper scale and no matter how packed you can have a conversation with your table mates and everyone can be heard. The bar has most of the standards...even higher end options. It never ceases to irk me that they either don't carry Hendricks gin or are always out. Must try dish at Bella is Pasta in the Wheel. Fettuccine pasta flambé in a grana padano cheese wheel can be ordered as an appetizer or main course. Truly decadent!

For the appetizers, I really liked the presentation of the focaccia bread with a table-side drizzle of olive oil and with a pesto, goat cheese, and a bulb of cooked garlic. We also enjoyed the arancini, which is basically fried risotto. I didn't like my main as much. I had the mushroom rigatoni. As I'm not a vegetarian I had to try a side of meatballs which I did enjoy. While I really enjoyed the nuttiness from the toasted hazelnuts, the mushrooms were very chewy, almost as if they'd been rehydrated, and a lot of the pasta was pretty dried out. Needed more sauce for the rigatoni. I can see how the dish can satisfy a vegetarian option but it would also be perfect with grilled chicken. I took a bite of the creamy Tuscan shrimp and thought the shrimp was perfectly cooked and very creamy. And the pork chop with polenta had an interesting sweetness to it. While I wouldn't order my entree again, the service plus the other dishes makes them a 5 for me. You Bella believe I'll be back!

I used to be a regular at Cracker Barrel, but we stopped going because of the menu changes, slow…read moreservice, smaller portions and price increases over the last 2 years. After the logo controversy, we decided to give Cracker Barrel another try today. Unfortunately, it was a disappointment. We were seated to a dirty table that was never wiped off. We were handed a new menu that had coffee stains all over it. We ordered the food and the wait was fairly long, even though there weren't that many people. There were 3 of us and they brought a basket with only 2 small biscuits. The waitress didn't return to fill our glasses or coffee the entire time. I ordered the Country Boy Breakfast with Sirloin Tips. This item used to include a Sirloin Steak, 3 Eggs and Apples, Hashbrowns and Grits. Now, it's ham or Sirloin tips and 2 sides, no grits and costs more. A single meal that used to cost $20 out the door leaving a $5 tip, now costs, $5 more. The food arrived lukewarm and didn't look that great presentation wise. It was ok. It wasn't like it used to be. The hash-brown casserole was tasteless and the sirloin tips were over-cooked with no seasoning. Regardless of logo changes or not, Cracker Barrel isn't a value anymore and quite frankly, the food isn't that great. I don't ask for a lot, but I think I should have a clean table, a clean menu, and hot food that tastes good. And it wouldn't hurt if the waitress refilled the drinks once. It's a shame, but I don't see Cracker Barrel making it. I know that I won't be back. Cracker Barrel had millions of dollars in free advertising from all this controversy. People will probably try it again just to see how it's changed. People may give it ONE shot out of curiosity, but they won't come back for overpriced, mediocre, lukewarm food.
