This upscale, modern-farmhouse themed restaurant checks all of the boxes. The decor is beautiful; I wanted to box it up to take home. The waitstaff were friendly, not overly attentive, and performed their service with a smile. I started with a hot chocolate, as it was a chilly 38° morning. It was rich, creamy, and served elegantly. We went for breakfast.. it was early on a week day so it wasn't busy yet.. waited a decent amount of time to be seated.. not because of capacity more an issue of having an actual employee acknowledge us. The menu is pretty much a new spin on breakfast.. not a lot of basic things. Emphasis on type of eggs they used. Also known as you will pay the premium price for breakfast. Our waitress took our order and brought drinks, food came out.. the portions are more about looks than quantity. 12.59 per meal. Nothing really stands out versus other local places. Everything was cooked well. We really didn't see the waitstaff until the end with the bill. You have to pay at the front the waitstaff will not take the bill and credit card at the table. My friend always gets avocado toast so I decided to try it. It didn't disappoint at all, the flavoring of the avocado mix was perfect and the eggs were done very well. My sister got some sort of salad with chicken and it had a sweet dressing almost like a teriyaki. She loved it. As always the service is great, the food is great, and the atmosphere is great. First Watch is a Southern staple, they are a great quality breakfast restaurant, and always a treat. I was super excited when I saw they were opening a location in the Alcoa/Maryville area. The restaurant was packed when we went there, even though we had checked in online we still had about a 15 minute wait. We didn't have to wait too long for service, and our server was attentive. The BLT Benedict was delicious, and my son LOVES their Belgian waffles. Their elevated egg sandwich is my favorite, I do prefer the eggs well done, and while that was requested the sandwich came with runny yolk..a small issue and something I am used to happening. Overall we will definitely be back, a great breakfast restaurant addition to the area! read more

We wait 20 minutes for someone to come over to just get us drinks and order. Then we wait about another 20 minutes for the food to come out. All the food was cold when we got it. I ordered over easy eggs that they had broke both eggs. They were more like medium eggs and ice cold. The waitress seemed put off that I would not eat the eggs and I ask to have them replaced. Get to the front asked how everything was I said less then great. Then just asked to pay no questions as to why it was not great. Will not go back. This time we sat at the bar and Kayla was our waitress. At first she was pleasant. Our orders came in a relatively timely manner. I had asked Kayla for the advertised real maple syrup. I guess she forgot so I reminded her. She acknowledged me so I know she heard me She then walked to the back of the restaurant and came back with something for the recently seated patron but no maple syrup! I politely stated to her that I wish she could have completed my order before accommodating someone who had literally just been seated No apology from her and then she proceed to ghost us ...and all the other diners sitting at the bar with us Kayla had a coworker provide us with the check. We opted to stop in here for a quick breakfast as we had also visited the FW in Knoxville - a known commodity. The experience was underwhelming, we noticed the staff at the restaurant seemed largely made up of a younger crowd (no issue with the generation more with the execution of service) which translated into a poor meal experience unfortunately. The food was Average at best (a bit cool when it hit our table not hot), the food came in segments vs all at once. The waitstaff was an upside for us but sadly that is all. Seemly as well there were flies darting about which was pretty distracting. 2 breakfasts for $35 plus tip was way off the realized value of the experience. Not a site we will revisit anytime soon sadly. If you need to have a FW fix, drive to Knoxville on Kingston Pike - you will be happy you did. read more

We joined the waitlist on Sunday Morning and were told it would be 25 to 35 minutes. We normally would not wait but decided that we would because we were really looking forward to their menu. After waiting for 28 min we checked and were told it would be 25 more minutes. The waiting area was very cold, even the staff were complaining. This is ,in my opinion, the best tasting breakfast place in Alcoa/Maryville , tasty dishes and great coffee all served by a knowledgeable wait staff team. My favorite servers are Jamie , Erica, Kayla, Jordan ,Morgan and quite frankly the rest who all have great presentations,are fast and attentive. The food may cost a little more but the size of the portions more than makes up for it . Outside seating is available to enjoy the warmer days and the menu includes a variety of drinks for those with eclectic tastes. Watch out for the plate sized pancake or the French toast with hot syrup in the Trifecta as they are sure to fill you up. read more

Cal than E. Tn., items like kale, chia seed, granola, chicken sausage etc. Coffee came in a pot for the table which was never refilled, basically 1.5 cups each. Bloody Marys came in individual little bottles with ice in a glass on the side. Seems silly and more clutter on the table. They're served with the million dollar bacon garnish which was cold, wet and flabby. The drink itself was delicious but the garnish was awful and and seemed an overpriced upsell. We ordered Shrimp and Grits, Salmon Benedict, Lemon Ricotta pancakes and all were disappointing. Shrimp and grits tasted ok, dried tomatoes overpowered everything and grits portion was small, felt stingy, served with a tiny piece of toast. Salmon Benedicts came with a small side of potatoes. Poached eggs were over cooked and hard. waitress offered a remake and comped the dish. Lemon Ricotta pancakes were thin and dry, no sign of ricotta or lemon in the pancake itself. Lemon curd was too sweet. Gritts, potatoes, toast should have been larger portions, felt cheap. We tried the Knoxville location a while ago and it was not good. Neither is Maryville. I don't see myself trying First Watch again. read more

Is this restaurant so cheap they can't afford a slice of onion? While I'm sure the breakfast menu is OKAY, lunch menu is terrible. We usually like this restaurant for a nice brunch, but when we were there today we decided it is no longer worth going anymore. The waitress was very pleasant but her only job is to take orders and get them correct. The honey for my tea never came, the water she brought she couldn't remember if we wanted ice or not (we never said anything about ice, just did not want lemon) and she left the messy dishes in front of us while we were finished and enjoying our coffee. Ok, that could be overlooked but we both ordered eggs Benedict and the cook must have been new because not only was the yolk runny but so was the whites of the eggs and the yolk was ice cold. We asked if we could just have some well done poached eggs and she ended up bringing back fried eggs with the same runny yolks. We did not eat those either and the messy plates just sat in front of us. We understand it was not her fault for the poorly cooked eggs. Then she brought two hard boiled eggs back and said she picked up the wrong eggs because she did not really know her eggs! How can you work at a breakfast place and not know eggs! Anyway, the bill was $54 including the tip (which we gave her a nice one because she obviously is stretching her mental capacity and needs it) and was totally not worth it. The eggs Benedict we ordered was cold then my while my husbands was cooked ok mine was hard boiled eggs. The salmon on it tasted slimy and extremely fishy. (Yes we have had Benedict before with smoked salmon and it was delish) the potatoes were undercooked but at this point with the wait for food we stuffed in the ones we could tolerate. I purchased an e-gift card to First Watch for my husband's birthday. When we tried to use it on 11/ 6/24, it was declined. I was told to call the gift card line for an explanation. I did. They said they would investigate my claim and get back to me in 24 to 48 hrs. A week later, I had not heard from them, so called again I was told it was still being investigated and I would hear back via email.in 24 to 48 hours!! Sure I will. I do not believe that. Such poor customer service! And I am out the money I spent as well. Not acceptable! read more

I went in on Sunday at 10 am so that we could beat the church crowd. I gave the host my name and phone number and she put me on the list. She did not specify how long the wait would be, but I could see multiple tables open so I just assumed we'd be sat soon. I waited 25 mins, and after watching 6 tables sit vacant I decided to leave. After I got home I received a text that my table was ready 48 mins after I checked in with the host. I went to Copper Cellar and had an excellent brunch! It looked as if the the kitchen was behind and service was going to be slow even if I'd waited the 48 mins for a table. I won't be back. read more

I swear the bread was so hard and not from being grilled, because it was as white as snow but so hard you could not bite it without feeling that you just gnawed on the world's biggest crouton. when our server finally got around to asking after being prompted how everything was, I showed him from my mostly uneaten order how hard the bread was and the cold ham. he said I wish you had told me earlier I would have gotten you another one. but nothing was done and no apologies or adjustments to the bill were done. the orange juice however was top notch. One salad, one pancake, two juices, a watermelon something or other, coffee and the eggs benedict. For 53 dollars and change. You decide. Food is amazing. Service is abysmal! 15 minute wait turned into over an hour. We did not get enough silver ware. Tea came out without a mug to drink it from. Waiter kept ignoring us as he walked by. I ordered a dish, something else came out, the waiter stated "well, that's not what I wrote, why don't you just take this." This was my second time at Frist Watch in Maryville. The first time was fantastic so I decided to take my husband. Sadly, everything about our experience was poor. Not one of the waitstaff had a smile. They all looked tired, haggard, and angry. Not pleasant. We waited about an hour for a seat and were once again disappointed because our table was next to the kitchen and people kept brushing up against us as they passed by. Not pleasant. I ordered a bloody mary and it came in a tiny little bottle with a glass of ice. No garnish, no nothing. It tasted like V-8 juice with some hot sauce. Not pleasant. My husband ordered an omelette with a side of seasoned potatoes. After quite a long wait the dish came with plain salad greens that appeard to come out of a box from the grocery store. No dressing, just plain. My husband asked about the potatoes. The waitress said he was supposed to get potatoes, but didn't offer to do anything about it. She shrugged and walked away. Not pleasant! I also ordered an omelette, but there was no filling in the omelette! Who serves an omelette with nothing in it? I asked the waitress about it and she said there should be a filling, but once again did nothing about it. As for the ambience, well, there was nothing about it that made me want to return. The music was too loud and too frantic, verging on head banger. Yuck! The tables were somewhat dirty and there didn't seem to be anyone willing to clear or clean the tables. All the waitstaff were milling about not doing much. My main message here is that our experience was NOT PLEASANT! We will not be back. First Watch, you need to do better! read more
