Parents brought me here as they are frequent and avid fans/customers. To start with the "handicapped" parking area wasn't shoveled so my mother wasn't able to get out of car safely. So we adapted and managed to get inside okay. Parents ordered one of the favorite dishes. I had the Traditional breakfast with scrambled eggs and pork sausage. The meals weren't served at same time. My mothers waffle wasn't even warm enough to melt butter. My meal was luke warm at best. My fathers was brought out about 5 mins later and it too was luke warm at best. Mom had her waffle remade since they didn't have a microwave. Was told it would be another 8-10 mins. Came out in five which was nice. So overall not a great experience. read more

I was quoted 15mins for my to go order. It took 30 minutes to receive. There's no option to pay until your food comes to the front. The employees who took my order over the phone and cashed me out, were both polite. My omlette was disappointing. Just eggs folded (not rolled) over a handfull of lunchmeat (not sliced or cubed, just a wad of lunch meat) The hair in my bacon was the annoying cherry on top that has me writing my first negative yelp review in years. An omlette, and a small side of bacon for $16.43. No water (or anything) offered while I waited an additional 15 minutes on top of my quoted time. Maybe this place is better when they're slow. In the future, I hope employees taking to go orders quote longer times. Had I known there was a 30 minute wait upfront, I wouldn't be annoyed. read more

Will someone praise the #brunchgods because we finally have brunch in Papillion that doesn't suck. This was the former bay of an egg&I that just struggled and had both poor service and expensive boring food. There are multiple (franchised) First Watch locations across Omaha and I am so happy they they are choosing to service the south side of town. FW serves as an wonderful option for business lunches, brunches and breakfasts, as well as serve the neighborhood. Seating wise, it's pretty big for a cafe, and the space reminds me of a nice Panera, although the food menu reflects a much better array of choices. They have so many options that would satisfy a greasy spoon lover, health nut, and trendy eater. I can see how some could complain that that flavors are not as intense, I do feel like they pay attention to the grease, sodium and fats here. It's definitely not a greasy spoon diner in umami respect, but you'll leave feeling a lot better about yourself and the tastes and portions are still adequate in my opinion. Also, they have morning cocktails and a few fresh pressed juices to choose from, which I like a lot. Service was friendly but minimal, with the check dropped at our table shortly after we got our food. The atmosphere was cheery, quiet, and really a mix of types of patrons. They made a mistake on my to-go order, (veggiewich instead of veggie burger) but lucky for them I like both and I have sympathy for opening day shenanigans. Highlights on the menu for me so far include the avocado toast (very reminiscence of California), their sausage and gravy benny, griddles, etc, and the eggs Florentine benedict. Really like this place. Fresh, tasty takes on comfort food in a setting that's somehow spacious and cozy at the same time. Service is always friendly, too. Be warned, however: this place gets crazy busy and it's common to be on a list waiting for a while before you get seated. Fortunately there's an app that can, among other things, help estimate wait times. It's worth the wait though. Another great addition to Papillion. read more

My husband and myself have been enjoying first watch in Papillion NE for years. The staff are friendly and go the extra mile to ensure you will have a great experience. The food at First Watch is delicious and the menu varies well from avocado toast, to pancakes, omelets, breakfast burritos and more, with quarterly seasonal specials, there is always something new to try. This is one of my favorite breakfast/brunch/lunch places because of its diversity and great service. Our waitress was quick to tend to our requests and even help us with substitutions. I got the veggie burger but wanted the artisan whole grain bread instead of the brioche bun and she easily took care of that. Our waters were always filled and the coffee was delicious. Came while visiting family. We had a party of 10 and called ahead and they were able to accommodate us. We got there at 8:30 am on a Sunday and there was not many people there. The food came quickly after we ordered & everyone liked what they got. The coffee is tasty and they gave us cups to take with us. I got the Italian omelette and the sausage was cased with peppers. Disappointed they didn't have any tomato juice; Regular bacon was very good and my pancake while a bit thin was also good. Presentation of the pancake was not great, half off the plate. The decor is country and cute. It's really inviting. That's where the good review ends. The restaurant smelled strongly of bleach. The waitress was also cleaning a light fixture with a chemical that smelled exactly like nail polish remover. They got the cleaning down but the fumes were overpowering. I ordered eggs Benedict Florentine style. The presentation was gorgeous but (literally) the plate was over half covered with spinach leaves. (Who has salad as a side dish for breakfast?) my eggs were cold and the benedict lacked flavor. My husband had a chorizo omelet. It was pretty but he said, bland and since we didn't eat the huge mound of spinach leaves, we left hungry. This location in Papillion is a welcome addition to our sparse dining scene that really needs to step up its game. The food is the same as elsewhere in Omaha...I'm a particular fan of the Million Dollar Bacon! My one critique is how packed this place gets by 11 am every week and there's no indication of expansion or better management, as people are spilled out into the parking lot waiting. Great situation for the business but we definitely have driven away rather than deal with the madness. My suggestion/pro-tip: get to First Watch before 9:30 am. read more

Been to this location twice now, and had delicious food, excellent service, and a great environment both times. Their menu is extensive, and the staff are eager to suggest things and recommend new items. Everything from the beverages to the sides tasted fresh and high quality. Our first time here. I ordered and omelette and wife had the ham and eggs. The ham was overcooked and the eggs were fine. My omelette was ok. Both orders came with toast. We arrived at 12:30 and were seated in a fair amount of time. Got drinks right away and that's where the good service stopped. Our waiter as I could tell only had three tables so it wasn't like he was swamped and the typical Sunday rush was over yet we waited close to thirty minutes for any acknowledgement and I had to ask for a refill of our drinks from another waiter. Our food arrived forty mins later and we were only checked on once right after getting our food and also given the check. When we left we were asked how it was and I replied the food was good but the service wasn't, we were not checked on and sat with empty drinks. The young woman checking us out simply said, that's unfortunate but we were really busy. As we were leaving I overheard the same woman say, they should realize we're busy and not complain. I love a good breakfast restaurant and was, at first, a bit disappointed by First Watch. Over the summer, it was just a bit chaotic. There was some yelling from the back and it was just a bit weird. Food was Ok but slow and some of it was a bit cold. I loved the menu but it was a disappointment in execution. I was convinced by a few friends to eat here again and came in with my son on a Sunday morning. The place was packed but we were sat almost instantly. The juices were amazing. The food came out hot and ridiculously fast. My son is a bit picky about bacon and needs it a bit more crispy and he said it was the best he'd ever had. I have visited the First Watch located out west but never in Papillion despite having driven by it on a regular basis for several years. This location is a bit smaller but still has plenty to offer. I went off our waiter's suggestion and ordered the Chikichanga which is their take on a breakfast chicken chimi. It was delicious! It was also not too heavy or greasy like many chimichangas.
