Billy Combo - Waffle, Over Easy Eggs and 1/2 Ham Add 1 Egg and English Muffin

Went here for brunch with my grandma at her recommendation. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It had a small town diner vibe and it was amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The server was friendly and got our order in and brought the food out incredibly fast. Everything was clearly homemade. The waffle was fluffy and slightly sweet but not too much. Definitely not a hotel waffle. The eggs were incredibly dunky but did need some seasoning. English muffin was exactly what you expect with an English muffin

Great food, service, and fair prices. This is the spot to get a good breakfast in Gretna. Can see coming back next time we're in the area.

Billy's Cafe was just ok. I wanted it to be so much better especially because I am a small town girl who sometimes just wants a little small town cooking and friendliness but that is not what greeted us at Billy's Cafe. It doesn't help that the options in Gretna are slim to none but given it's proximity to Omaha I guess it's understandable. The food was ok. Our table of four adults and two kids had a mix of tenderloins and fish and chips. I was impressed that the tenderloin was actually a tenderloin and not a pork fritter but as far as flavor and size it was bland and average. Nothing out of this world, but not inedible either. The meal was simple, no bells and whistles, which was just fine. We were just hungry and wanted something tasty and familiar. We showed up closer to 2 on Saturday, which is close to closing time and our welcome was well, not very welcome. The waitress eventually warmed up to us but I'd already gotten a bad taste in my mouth while we waited for her to take our order. There was also very little ambiance. I mean it looks like they tried with all the nostalgic decor and the racing gear and matching coffee cups but it was painfully quiet, the old vinyl seats were cracked, the tables had seen better days and while we waited to be served, my three year old niece had a meltdown (of her own accord, nothing to do with the place). I'm used to these but given the super super quiet space, it was just a little bit harder to bare. Playing some music could have helped tremendously. Just a note to anyone who does choose to come here - it is cash only. I won't be back.

All the parking near the entrance is metered parking-- the kind that's hard to figure out if you don't use it regularly. There were three parallel parking spots directly in front of the door, but they were all filled and had 15 minute limits. The meters seem to be owned by the city, so maybe Big Grove doesn't have a choice, but it's very odd and wrong. The employees don't know anything about it. Next, the food. Bookguy wanted a muffin, but they were out. The pastries in the case were not like anything I had seen before, except for the cookies. The counter person described what they were, rather than naming them. Thus we ended up with a mushroom thingie and a pizza thingie. The mushrooms were minimal, black shreds with no flavor in a cornbread-like square. Bookguy rejected it after one bite: too dry and flavorless. I didn't think it was awful, but I wouldn't get it again. The pizza thingie was ok. The soft square of bread was fresh, with two pepperoni rounds, a teaspoon of mild pizza sauce and a teaspoon of white cheese. I especially liked the bread. Lastly, the coffee. It was excellent. I ordered a cappuccino with oat milk. I commented on the fancy machines they use and the "barista" pointed under the counter and said it was a robot. So maybe they don't have a trained barista, just a button pusher because they have a coffee-making robot. Nevertheless, it was great coffee. That being said, I can't imagine coming here again.

I have been here for both, and it can fill up quickly, especially on weekends. My coffees are always consistently delicious, and I love how festive Coffee Society is, even making new seasonal menus. I got their Valentine's menu iced coffee, which I believe was cookie dough chocolate chip flavored and phenomenal. Their food is very pricey, even for a coffee shop, and I didn't love the breakfast tacos. They were overwhelmingly just avocado and chewy sausage pieces, so next time I would probably try something else as this one was not worth the price. My boyfriend enjoyed his breakfast sandwich, so I would probably try something from their large variety of sandwiches. However, the coffee made this visit worth it. The ambiance is very bright, airy, and open! Coffee Society is very cute and aesthetically pleasing, and their holiday decor was very fun! It was packed this visit, but luckily they have tons of seating!

I took my 6 year old son out for a breakfast date and we landed here kind of unexpectedly (a nearby…read morespot actually had a staffing issue and couldn't open on time). But my son and I both agreed that we were quite pleased with our pivot plan to visit Con Azucar! We hadn't yet been in, I'd seen tons of photos but that was about it. For breakfast, I got myself a chilaquiles meal because that's my favorite - their take on it was decent: the sauce was the real star. I appreciated that it was served platter style with house potatoes, beans, and I believe there was also rice. This made it super easy to split the meal with my son: we just added a couple of eggs to the chilaquiles for me, and then ordered him a side of beef and a delicious pastry, and then there were plenty of sides on my dish that he enjoyed picking at. I actually was not planning on getting coffee here but toward the end of our visit I decided it would be a loss not to try it while we were in here. I ended up deciding on an iced Mazapan latte and I was very pleasantly surprised! I have since returned for this exact latte again. It is such a great balance of creamy and sweet and nutty. For my personal palette, I'd probably prefer it with one extra shot just because it is quite sweet, but however they are making their Mazapan syrup... Man, they've nailed it! HIGHLY recommend trying that when you're visiting!

Overall, we had a pretty good experience, but there were definitely some hits and misses…read more This is one of those places where you order at the counter, get a number, and they bring your food to the table. There's a self-serve water station, and you'll also need to grab your own napkins and silverware. None of that was explained when we ordered, but we eventually figured it out. We had a group of five, and the opinions on the food were pretty mixed. If you're thinking about the ricotta pancakes, absolutely plan on sharing them. The order comes with three absolutely massive pancakes. Each one is about half an inch thick and roughly the size of a large adult man's hand. They're impressive, but I really wish the menu gave some indication of just how enormous they are. Unless you're planning on taking leftovers home and eating a lot of microwaved pancakes later, it's way more food than most people would expect. I ordered the standard breakfast with scrambled eggs, chicken sausage, wheat toast, and the smashed potatoes. The scrambled eggs had a really nice texture (soft, fluffy, and cooked well) but they were very underseasoned. They needed quite a bit of salt and pepper. The chicken sausage was unfortunately the biggest disappointment for me. I was actually excited that it looked like a hand-formed patty instead of a processed sausage, but the flavor was just...odd. It was somehow both savory and sweet, but not in a good way, and there were chunks of ingredients throughout that I wasn't expecting. I took one bite and left the rest. The standout on my plate was definitely the smashed potatoes. They were excellent. The inside was creamy, almost like a Yukon Gold potato, while the outside was crispy and crunchy. They were well-seasoned, had great potato flavor, and several people at our table commented on how good they were. Someone else ordered the breakfast burrito, which was also huge; they could only finish about half. She said it tasted really good, but it was very rich and heavy. She thought a little more of the aioli (or whatever sauce was on it) would have helped balance all of the savory, fatty flavors. Another person ordered the breakfast sandwich. She said all of the individual ingredients were good, but together something just felt a little off. It was also an extremely messy sandwich to eat. The restaurant itself is comfortable and clean, although nothing particularly memorable about the atmosphere. Service was good overall, but one person at our table had ordered a single pancake on the side and ended up waiting about 15 extra minutes after everyone else had their food. Overall, I'd think about coming back, but I'd order differently next time. The portions are much larger than the menu lets on, the potatoes are absolutely worth getting, and while some dishes were excellent, a few just missed the mark.

The menu was pretty much the same with some new fun specials. I tried a couple of the specials while I was there. The coffee was not overly sweet and smooth. The sandwich was a little on the smaller side with the gluten free bread, so I would recommend getting a side along with it, but still super yummy. I can't wait to go back to try more of the menu!
