Stellar as usual. We've been to this restaurant in so many different locations and states, and it is without a doubt the most reliable restaurant chain out there. We love all the healthy choices. Everything is fresh and delicious. The service is usually way above par as well. We love that they have the online app so that you can join the waitlist when you leave the house. Really cuts down the wait time at the restaurant. These locations can be very busy on the weekends. We are huge fans of all of the coffee and other drink options. The food is wonderful for both the breakfast menu and the lunch menu. Everything is super fresh - never pre-cooked and sitting around getting cold. We have had some issues with side, dishes such as pancakes, grits and waffles coming to the table at room temperature but they are great about replacing the item. Fantastic! Visited for Sunday morning breakfast and found a wonderful spot at First Watch. Arrived around 930 am expecting a full house only to find immediate open tables. But, by 1015 when we walked out, groups were waiting outside. My wife had a BLT and it looked great. I had the Shoshito Brisket Hash that was a summer special and included the mushrooms, eggs, brisket and cheese. Incredible tasting. Service was very good, but a little slow. Ordered an iced coffee to go and found it very good. The restaurant wasn't very old but apparently has a great reputation already. Well worth the visit! read more

First watch has the best potato bites in town! I normally get a large side of potato's with avocado toast and one of their iced mochas and yum it is always fresh and delicious! The service is always great and super friendly! They have nice clean bathrooms and the whole restaurant is super cozy! I have gone here after my graduation, birthday, and just on a normal day and they have always seated us super quickly as well! I love First Watch and will be coming again soon! read more

Due to indoor dining being closed, a lot of places still offer outside seating and some are getting creative. First Watch in Richmond did an excellent job under the circumstances. Now First Watch is is Cafe chain restaurant, BUT breakfast/brunch is my thing, just never tried this one and after yesterday this location is one of my favorites breakfast/brunch chains. Plus they have healthy options and made to order. I had the farmhouse hash, my husband had the Parma hash and then we shared the million dollar bacon. I've been to this location a few times and haven't been very impressed with the food given the cost. I've had undercooked food on multiple occasions and they've used ingredients for salads that were clearly old and turning brown. Genuinely the best First Watch I've eaten at. There was a short wait due to it being a Sunday morning, but we were seated fairly quickly. Our server was excellent! Very personable and knowledgeable about the menu. I got the farmhouse hash and IT WAS DELICIOUS. The eggs and potatoes were cooked perfectly. We also ordered the seasonal cocktail. I believe it was called milk and cereal or something like that. It was also very good. The parking at this location was easy and plentiful. My first meal out with my husband since the pandemic started and First Watch was a solid choice. There menu is varied with some choices that are more creative than your standard brunch fare. I was torn between the lemon ricotta pancakes and an omelette. In the end I went with the Chorizo and green chili omelette which was well prepared and tasty. The salad that comes standard as a side was overdressed which was disappointing. My husband had roast beef havarti sandwich with tomato basil soup. He LOVED both. Arrived around 1:00 pm, not close to closing time but the experience was not great. My eggs Benedict was barely palatable, so I ended up finishing off my child's veggie burger. The Eggs for the Benedict had completely hard yolks and the sauce tasted like straight lemon. The sauce should probably have been used on a pastry fruit tart for it was not savory in the least. Our Belgian Waffle was $12 for a single non-embellished waffle with which our party was disappointed. this place is a solid hit or miss. the last three times i went the silverware and glasses were extremely dirty we recommend checking water for floaties. we've also had bad experiences with being served burned food the last few times as well. bacon is ALWAYS over cooked. it's upsetting because this place is pretty spendy and we don't like to complain. it's consistently bad enough lately that we don't have the desire to return unfortunately! with better attention to detail and the cooks giving a heck i'd give 5 stars. read more

Definitely not impressed. My first visit, I enjoyed. Not this one. Took 40 minutes for our food to be delivered, a party of three. My over easy eggs on my short rib poutine were over well by the time they got to me. The short rib was non existent. The coffee was extremely bitter and when barely got a full cup of the two of us that drank it. My son ate half his Belgium waffle before anyone came back to the table to even offer syrup. As I write this I get to enjoy staring at five dirty tables that the majority of have been dirty since we got here. What we don't understand is why we were told a wrong wait time and then removed from the waitlist for not being able to get to the store in two minutes.. I get seating someone next to keep it moving. However it is beyond absurd that we would be completely removed from the wait and have to re-join it just to wait another hour to be seated. read more

Haven't been disappointed with the food, but the service has never been what we expect from First Watch. Today the server was slow getting to the table. Never checked on us after bringing our food. The food is absolutely wonderful & they are always trying to satisfy the customer in every way!!! So far I have been there 3 times since they opened & have been very satisfied every time. However, I have a problem with the women's restroom. We arrived there about 1:15 pm, on October 6th. Used the restroom & noticed it needed cleaning. I thought it was from the day's use. Sometime later a young man employee was cleaning the restrooms. After he was finished, I needed to use the restroom again & the toilet had not been cleaned at all !!!!!! Was still as dirty as before. Moving from DC to Williamsburg KY left me missing so many of the locations for fresh, tasty food. So on the way to Lexington today we had to stop. I immediately wanted a juice and thought the morning meditation to be the ticket. I saw it had beet juice but then saw it was made daily so I figured they couldn't separate the beet juice. So I told myself to be the adult and just drink the darn juice, as I remember my mom telling me how healthy for me it is when forced to eat them as a child. The waitress brought the bar worthy beautiful drink to the table and I immediately saw the bright red on the top. I was slightly concerned so I took a spoon and a good amount of the beet juice. I cannot express how horrible it was, flashbacks began, taste buds went into a cringe protest and husband began laughing hysterically(he thought it was cranberry juice). I thought I could salvage this so I attempted to spoon the beet juice out in an attempt to the save the other wonderful ingredients. But pushing the ice down with the spoon acted as a blending agent. Convinced I could defeat this healthy vegetable, I attempted another sip. Nope. I failed. It won. Thankfully, at this point, the server saw my reaction and came to dispose of the red devil and brought me back the drink, minus the beets. It was great! And the left over ingredients are also good healthy items so while my ego is bruised, I can manage to know I still made a good choice for my health. Moral of this story, the awesome drink morning meditation can be ordered WITHOUT beet juice. All other food was great. read more

Moved here a year ago from Florida. I'm retired and loved going to First Watch a couple times a week. I never had a bad experience in Florida no matter which First Watch I used. The food has been very good in Richmond but the service has been inconsistent. Today I arrived around 9:40 AM and was seated by the hostess who asked me if I wanted to sit at the bar or a table. There was only a few patrons and I chose a table. There were 4 or 5 waitresses hanging out at the front with the hostess but no one came by to get me coffee or take my order. At about 10:40 a group of 4 was seated next to me and there order was taken immediately. Didn't think much of it till 10 AM. Still no service so I left. So disappointed with this lo. read more

We went on a Sunday and the wait wasn't crazy long. Mary Claire was a fantastic server. She was clearly busy but never seemed hurried or flustered. She accommodated a specific menu for dietary reasons without batting an eye at our modifications. The food was hot, delicious and timely. We had the trifecta and neither of us felt heavy or weighed down like you can from too much oil being used. I was thoroughly impressed with the cleanliness of the restaurant, the atmosphere and the excellent service. I've been to First Watch twice now and I think the best way to describe it is that it looks better than it tastes. The restaurant is very trendy and has a great atmosphere but when it comes to food it's a little bland. My first visit I order the Lemon Ricotta Pancakes, which were okay but I wouldn't order again. My second visit I ordered the ham and gruyere sandwich which was better than the pancakes and would honestly recommend. Both times I went with friends and they all had similar experiences. Maybe it's the newness of it but I think they could do better, or if you're looking for a safe place to eat where everyone can find something they like, this is a safe bet. read more
