The food is good, but it just isn't worth the price. As a Villanova student I would go here a lot with friends for brunch but the quality of the food could never justify the prices or wait time. The biggest appeal to this restaurant is that it's such a typical Main Line restaurant. You'll see a lot of pastel colors, golf attire, an church attire. People tend not to be very friendly to one another, and the wait staff rushes groups to sign the check so they can get another group in. read more

I have been to first watch Villanova many times and loved everything about it. The Wayne location is terrible. The staff is very unorganized, slow and not very friendly. We had pre put in our name but when we arrived it was not in the computer. The host said 10 min wait but we ended up waiting for 40 min before being seated. We waited over 5 min for a server to great us at the table. They are clearly understaffed as there were many tables that need to be cleared The wayne location needs some seriously help and leadership. For someone that works in the food industry I can be very understanding but this was just ridiculous. We stayed to see if the the experience could change around but the salty taste was already put in our mouths and didnt change. I will never be returning the the wayne location again. read more

Great for Breakfast. Cute atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food. Come here every Sunday morning with my family. Some reviews here complain about long wait times-- there isn't a wait if you come early enough (before 9am) and not during peak times. Isn't that the sign of a great restaurant anyway? My go to is the Market Skillet Hash. Soo good. Coffee is good too! My husband gets the pancakes every week, and loves them. They have seasonal specials too, which is nice. Got the tri-fecta breakfast with the Belgian waffle. I highly recommend it. Best waffle I have had in a really long time- fluffy and sweet vanilla flavor super good! Also crispy bacon very important! The eggs are real no imitation stuff. When I try a new place I tend to get the basics because if you can't do that right there is no need for me to try anything else. The waiter Sciulli was extremely nice. He was very friendly and was very fast. The food is very good. I know many people trash this place because of the usual wait. But that just means they are doing something right! The breakfast isn't to heavy and the quality and quantity of food was just right. The inside of the restaurant is very clean which is awesome. Very disappointing experience. Was not my first take out order there. But never i had to wait over 45 min instead of promised 20 for the most simple order and watch everyone who came after me to pick up their orders first. I had to stand in small area, constantly trying to move out of people's way, cause they would not make a call when order is ready but made me wait inside standing. And the explanation was that i did not order it online but on the place. Food was not as good as usual as well. Breakfast was okay but service was very poor. Finding our service was a real challenge when we were looking for refills for our beverages. We also hate seeing food on floors in restaurants. Nothing like scrambled eggs stuck to the bottom of your shoes. Very loud with children screaming so I would not recommend early in the morning! Really a shame because we had higher hopes. First Watch is a hip little brunch place that's got great food. My girlfriend and I visited a few weekends ago for brunch on Saturday. It was packed with about a 45 minute wait. Luckily, we reserved seating on Yelp beforehand and were seated right away. I'd highly recommend doing the same if you're going to go during peak brunch hours. The service wasn't bad, nothing spectacular, but the food was amazing. My girlfriend fell in love with her breakfast sandwich and actually remade it at home the following two weekends. My cage free eggs, the veg/fruit fresh juice were both great. My hubby got the chorizo omelet, and the potatoes were the best I have had. Brunch. Is there a better word in the English language? No, of course not. And Brunch is what's on the plate here at First Watch. For the rest of this review, "Brunch" will simply be known as "that word that evokes feelings of euphoria and diet cheating", or TWTEFOEADC." Joining the rest of the Main Line after church crowd, we showed up around 1:30 for TWTEFOEADC. There was a bit of a wait, but seasoned veterans know that tables turn fast during TWTEFOEADC. Twenty minutes later we were good to go, and our party enjoyed a nice spread of several tasty options. I scarfed the belgain waffle with a side of berry compote topping, and felt my insulin levels rise in response to this very rare afternoon carb jack. One of the house specials, called the "Chickenchanga" (which sounds suspiciously like "Chickengunya"...yeah don't want that) was a tortilla cooked with egg surrounding spicy chicken and chorizo sausage with monteray jack and cheddar. Get this. The turkey burger (don't you hate going out to an obvously high calorie meal in which you are going to splurge and someone in your party...and there's always one...has to order a healthy option, thereby making the rest of you feel like tax cheats?) also scored points. Service and attention to detail were solid. We thoroughly enjoyed our TWTEFOEADC at First Watch, and soon after getting home the carb crash ensured a legit 2 1/2 hour Sunday afternoon nap while watching the Phillies.
