I'm really torn since the food was good, fresh, and servings ample. But the front of house operation was a nightmare. The young man seating was also taking care of the register and beyond being overwhelmed. The wait staff was equally disorganized as was the kitchen crew (on full display to diners). We waited 45 minutes for our lunch in an extremely noisy and chaotic setting. So much potential but really needs work. We generally avoid the Gateway Shopping Center because the parking lot is a freaking mess and has been for years. I wish these folks luck and hope they succeed but get your act together folks. read more

Came here a month ago, during the week, and the food was great! Today is a Sunday and I told my husband I wanted him to try it, and we waited about 30 minutes, totally understand on a Sunday. The wait staff was wonderful, however the food was inedible! I ordered the same thing I had last month which was the eggs Benedict with spinach, tomato and avocado. The food was cold, the eggs really runny, tomatoes and avocados hard as rocks and needless to say, I did not eat my brunch. Manager never came over, they just took my order off the bill and never asked if I wanted anything else. I am totally done with this place. read more

I'm not a Millennial but I love the avocado toast here. Million dollar bacon rivals Silverspoon's bacon--different but still good. Service was terrific. Hit it at just the right time in between breakfast and lunch. Several locations in the area (Villanova and Exton). Definitely worth checking it out. read more

First time at this one, but we've been to the one in Tempe, AZ multiple times. The Wayne location is in the Gateway Shopping Center so plenty of parking...good number of tables, and checking in ahead of time online worked perfectly so that we didn't have to wait very long to get seated. Crab omelet, carnitas bowl and summer blush drink were all great! Your own coffee carafe at your table is another plus. Food took a little longer than at some other places , but since it's all being made fresh, it's worth the wait. And our server, Tony, was super personable and took very good care of us. Arrived 12:30 on Saturday August 3. Not surprised there was about a 10 minute wait. But there were tables not cleared off. Annoying. As we're waiting, the lady who was outside whom we walked by on the way in comes to the front desk asking where her server is. Then another party of 2 get their food and 2 minutes later a manager is over there; they didn't look happy. I should have taken these 3 signs as a warning. Waitress came within 4 minutes. We already knew what we wanted since we looked at the menu while waiting. Food took 32 minutes to arrive. She did bring over a free muffin to help keep us happy. We'd been here a few other times. Waits for food were always long (even if we're there at 11:00 or 2:00, but this was ridiculous. Floor was super slippery, too. Lots of fancy stuff on the menu. If there was a Cracker Barrel close, I'd go there first. read more

Went there with a party of three for breakfast today. I had been there three times before and was not overwhelmed by the service or quality of food. The servers are super friendly but they are spread very thin so they quality of service is poor. I usually order an omelette and never in any of my visits, has it arrived hot. When the waiter finally came over and asked about the quality of the food, I told him it was barely warm. He said I should have told him earlier but he was not around earlier to check on our table. There are many other wonderful restaurants that serve breakfast as Diane's or Nudy's so I will not be going back to First Watch read more

Been coming to 1st Watch for over 20 years. Could not wait to try new location. As always with great food there is a wait. Once at table it took over 10 mins to be greeted and now at 15 mins for food. Giving them a mulligan on this try since newly opened. Hope they get act together soon. I've been anticipating the opening of First Watch in Gateway since they began construction. We stopped by on a Saturday morning when there was a 30 min wait for a seat for breakfast. The modern farmhouse decor is cozy & clean, but the acoustics make it very noisy & hard to have a conversation without having to shout. Our server was very attentive & pleasant. We ordered the biscuits w/chicken sausage gravy (which was delicious) & the farmhouse hash (which was also tasty). The only complaint I have about the food is that the hash, which was described to have potatoes w/tomatoes & onions, avocado, 2 kinds of cheeses & bacon, topped w/2 fresh eggs, did not have any bacon at all. I was disappointed b/c we did not order the "million dollar bacon" b/c i was under the impression that the hash would have bacon. We may try First Watch again, perhaps for lunch next time, but the noise level was unpleasant. read more

We waited almost an hour for our food which was mediocre. While the wait staff was very nice and helpful, the kitchen took way too long to prepare avocado toast and eggs. The people next to us waited even longer and had arrived before us. Everything from the drinks to the food to getting the bill took at least twice as long as it shouldve. Bottom line - eat here if you don't have taste or self respect. Second time at this location since they opened. First time - the waitress was borderline rude and couldn't care less about proper service. Food was good but not great as the other locations. Put it down to beginning issues. Second time around, took out of town colleagues for lunch. This time the waitress seemed to at least make eye contact. Took the order for the 4 of us. I ordered the Asian Pork Belly bowl - the spotlighted special. Except, I asked for the Jalapeno's to be left off.The rest ordered different things. Meals came in one at a time - 5 mins or so between #1 & #2. The 10 mins to #3 and finally another 7 mins later, my order. The eggs were under done, no pickled radish, carrot or cilantro. Looked like they had scraped the remnants of the day into the bowl which what amounted to a half of the usual portion. Asked for the pickled radish etc. Waitress came back with carrot slaw as " they have run out of pickled radish" Sent back the meal told her the eggs were under cooked. Got the unapologetic " sorry to hear that". At check out, was asked how everything was and told them not good as my meal was under cooked etc. Once again got the unapologetic sorry comment. Kicker was the lady behind me did not wait to be asked and outright told the cashier that this was the worst meal and the worst of all the First Watch locations she had been to and would never come back. This has always been a go to spot for me and my family. We loved going to this location until today. The servers were extremely unprofessional. The social distancing in the restaurant was great and my family and I appreciated it very much. I just felt very uncomfortable with some of the precautions that the staff was making during this weird time. First, they were all wearing masks which was much appreciated, but some were wearing them improperly. Second, the tables were wiped down, but not all the way. The food was amazing as it always is. Family favorites include the skillet hash and the pancakes. Delicious! If you can request anyone, request Claudia or Gina. They always go above and beyond to make sure your service is great. Overall, my family and I just felt very uncomfortable in this location with Covid-19 still among us and we won't be coming back to this location until after the pandemic. VERY upset with the service we just experienced. The table next to us was seated after us, greeted before us, ordered food after us but served before us, received check and left before us. We waited over five minutes to just be greeted (and she didn't arrive with waters which they usually do). We ordered our food at the same time as our drinks. We received the wrong drink and only two water glasses for four of us. We were told they ran out of glasses and would bring more when they had them. That never happened. After 45-50 minutes, other servers started to notice we still didn't have our food and went to check. After finally getting our food (2 came, three minutes later 3rd came, and five minutes later our last order came). Our server never checked on us in all that time. We finally asked another server if our server left. He went and got her and we told her we thought she left and to bring our check so we didn't have to wait even longer for it when we were ready. We actually thought our server was the one who took our order but it was the one who delivered our drinks. Since she never came back, we were confused. The table next to us actually left by the time we got our food. Then, I get in line to pay and waited ten minutes! There were five people in front of me. I overheard the guests behind me complaining about the wait time to get served so I joined in with them as well. Needless to say, it was the worst service ever. We go to the First Watch in Dublin, OH where we are from at least two times a month. Way disappointed in this location as we expect the same level of service. Or at least decent service for a $60 breakfast! read more

We generally wait a while to experience the newer restaurants in the area. We finally made it in on yesterday. Let me start by saying this place is very quite attractive. With that said, the atmosphere was immediately chaotic. There was one woman with a tablet who was checking people in, but she was not by the entrance. Very confusing. We patiently waited 35 minutes for brunch and were seated, which we found our table was not clean; it was very disgusting! The same woman with the tablet, came over with DRY paper towels and wiped down the bench first, then proceeded to wipe the table top with the SAME dry paper towel. DISGUSTING!! I sat down and pulled out my own disinfecting wipes and cleaned my table. Our server was clueless. At one point, I sat there with an empty glass for 18 minutes before I could even flag her down to ask for another. 1 star is too much for this place. They cannot handle nor are they equipped to handle large crowds. We won't be returning. Ever. Don't waste your time. read more

On April 13th, we stopped in for brunch. The only reason that I am giving this 3 stars is because the food was great. We had quite possibly the worst service. Our waiter took our order, dropped off our drinks and never came back to the table. We watched as he walked around and simply cleared plates or stood by the kitchen and spoke with the other wait staff and sipped on his drink. Our soup, entree, refill of water and our check were brought to us by other wait staff. The only time that we were asked about everything was when another waiter brought us our check. We expressed our feelings and he simply apologized. He told us that the manager was aware but nothing else was said. When paying, we were asked how everything was and we again expressed our feelings. The girl running the register was more concerned than the manager (right next to her). He said nothing and just looked at the check. He then continued to go through receipts and made no apologies for our bad experience. As a result of this experience, we may never come back. read more

Absolutely horrible experience. We went on Sunday, May 19th for a late breakfast. There was no wait and the restaurant had empty tables. We were seated and waited about 10 minutes for our waitress to take our order. We got our pressed juices timely, but waited over 45 minutes for our food. Our waitress stopped by several times and said it was coming and it never did. On the last stop, we said we were leaving if it didn't come within 5 minutes. The food came and was inedible. I ordered the eggs benedict Florentine. The eggs were raw, you could still see the clear uncooked whites. The potatoes were thrown on the plate and barely cooked. There was about 2 spinach leaves and the end sliver of avocado. At this point we were done and wanted to see a manager. The table of six next to us had 4 issues with their food and waited 25 minutes for replacement pancakes! When the manager never came over, we told our waitress we were leaving, not going to pay for the food, but would pay for the juices. She said not to pay for the juices. Several tables near us left as well as they were never served. Panera Bread got some free business that day! read more
