And it was all done on their day off to speed up the process for me, with no add on charges like for time driving from their shop to my house and from the unloading site back to their shop. We were moving a three bedroom house, and they estimated about 3.5 hours of work (which I thought was pretty aggressive), but they nailed it. No issues whatsoever. Very professional and courteous. So glad we chose Fischer Van Lines for our recent move. We've had some pretty disastrous experiences with an awful moving company in the past. Fischer Van Lines was the polar opposite of that for us. No delays, no stressful nonsense happening during the move, no damages to property, No shady or sketchy sub contracting to unreliable movers here either. This is how a moving company should work. Charles in the office was prompt in returning a quote from the online form on their website. All the information he gave us was on point and consistent. Contacting him with any questions or confirming our information was easy. There did seem to be a miscommunication on their end about a safe we had but it was not an issue. Our movers, Jay and Derek were awesome! ...I apologize if I've gotten their names wrong. Arrived on time, actually a little earlier than scheduled. I took apart some of the furniture prior to them arriving but that was just because I've done several times before and figured it would easier and help them out as much as I could. We did the walk through and Jay explained everything they would be doing and how the billing would work after completion. They were pretty quick and efficient with moving all of our stuff. They took care to pack and wrap the more delicate pieces of furniture and load them on the truck. Took care not to hit and scratch walls or the bannisters on the stairs. If a piece was a little awkward to move, they planned it out first, no just trying to force it and hope it fits. They asked to do another walk through once everything was loaded up, making sure they got everything they were supposed to. When they arrived at the new house they were still going strong, taking care of everything. Excellent job again from them! Nothing went wrong and no damage to anything. No stress or aggravation, the whole thing went smooth. I felt the overall finished price was more than fair as well. If we need movers in the future we'll be using Fischer Van Lines and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a moving company. FIVE STARS ALL THE WAY!!! read more

In 2017 we hired Fischer Van Lines for a Denver local move from a rental to our purchased home. Company representatives showed up on time for the estimate and move itself. The move went well on a hot summer day, and we appreciated the movers' hard work getting things into our house. My only minor gripe is that the estimate price and the price at job completion could have been in closer agreement. Overall, though, it went well. read more

We moved from Co to FL. Somehow water got in the box that contained our lampshades and they were ruined. This was the only damage and besides that the movers were reliable, professional and courteous. We moved a lot and this is one of the more reliable companies to deal with. read more

This is by far the best moving company i have ever used (and i move every 10 months or so.) They are professional, on time (this is a HUGE plus most moving companies are late), they treat all items with care, and the movers are so nice. I actually used them so much for personal moves that I decided to make them my corporate company's #1 mover. I work for a home builder and we move expensive model home furniture and they are the only moving company we have used that handled everything PERFECTLY. I also have to give a special shout out to Brad Adams... he has helped me with many moves and is pretty much the whole reason Fischer Van Lines landed our corporate account.... he's a stand up guy and an exceptional worker. My wife and I moved recently. If you add up all the times we've moved in the last 9 years it totals 22. (15 of those are mine). I'm getting to the point in my life where paying your friends in pizza and beer just isn't an option. Especially not with the ridiculous amount of media I have (library, DVD's, literally thousands of old comics). These guys showed up, busted ass, were personable and polite, had an amazing attitude (I would be a walking pile of surly if I had to move other people's shit all day) and got everything done in 3 hours. At the end of the work, they call the boss and he talks to me to make sure that everything went fine and the guys worked hard. After the relief of having everything moved from my 3rd floor apartment (with a 4th floor loft) with barely having to lift a finger, I would give these guys 6 stars if that were an option. read more

These guys (and gals) are the best. Two days before I was scheduled to move I found out some disturbing things about the moving company I had hired for my move. Not wanting to get taken advantage of I started calling around to see if I could get another company to move me on such short notice. I called and spoke to Amelia and she was so very helpful. She and the owner, Jeff, were great. They bent over backwards to accomodate me and make our move happen for us. On the day of the move 4 men and a 36 foot truck arrived. All 4 of the movers were completely professional and worked really hard all day long. It took them 8 hours which may seem like a long time but some of our previous moves have taken nearly twice as long - I guess we have a lot of stuff. Our guys were all very upbeat and friendly all day long. They seemed to genuinely enjoy their jobs and they were awesome at it. I've had movers before that grumbled about anything like having to take doors off the hinges, boxes that aren't taped up well, getting creative to fit something over a staircase..... all of these things happened and not once did anyone act like it was a problem. It was always an attitude of "not a problem." After everything was unloaded and they had done stuff like hook up appliances they asked if we preferred to do some of the leftover things like assemble our bed because they were about to run into another hour. I really appreciated that they were conscious of the money aspect. Before they left the owner spoke to me on the phone to make sure everything went well and we were satisfied with the job that had been done. I was impressed. There is a reason all the reviews of these guys are so great. Oh, and not one single thing got broken, not one scratch or scuff on any of the walls or doors in the house we moved out of or the house we moved in to. That has never happened before. read more

We were well prepared when they showed up and made the move go as well as could be expected. Thank you, Fischer, for coming through on short notice when my other mover completely flaked out on me! I called Fischer in a bit of a panic after my movers no called/no showed on me on the day I planned on moving. I read the reviews here and it seemed like they were the best choice for me to make. Once again, Yelp didn't let me down. These guys were fantastic! Josh and Ali showed up right on time and we got down to business. Normally when I move on my own, I'm a grump the whole time, but these guys were cheery and upbeat the entire time, despite the fact that I lived on the 3rd floor. They got everything out of my studio in under an hour and they even helped load up the pickup I needed packed with boxes going to a different location than storage. It's a three hour minimum for each move, but these guys had it done in under 2 including drive time! Rest assured that next time I need to move, Fischer is the company I'll be calling first. read more

I moved from one third floor apartment to another third floor apartment. I'm no longer at an age where beer and pizza is considered appropriate compensation for hauling a sofa (and a washer/dryer set) up and down six flights of stairs, I called in some professional help. Fischer caught my attention because of the good reviews here on Yelp and the fact they accept credit card (with no added fee). I had the second move of the day, so we were scheduled to start at 1:00 pm. At about 12:45 I got a call from Ron telling me they were on their way and would be there soon. The official start time for the move (when the meter started for me paying them) was 12:54, six minutes early. For a one bedroom apartment, I had a two man crew and a small truck. It was sufficient for the job. If I had a high paying job, I might have sprung for a third person on the crew and avoided having to make a couple of trips myself. But I think had I done a better job packing, the two movers would have been able to get everything. As it was, I ended up making a few trips in my car to move some smaller stuff while the movers got all the big stuff (which was why I hired them). The reason why this is a five star review happened at the end of the move. I had been given a quote based on three hours. At about 2 hours and 45 minutes, it was clear not all of my furniture was going to be reassembled in the quoted time frame (not the fault of the movers, there were some geometric challenges getting furniture in and out of the apartments that slowed things down). Ron asked me if I wanted them to stick to the three hours (meaning I'd reassemble the furniture) or if I wanted them to stay longer (at added cost). There are movers out there that would have jumped at the opportunity to pad the bill and work longer. I really do appreciate the fact my movers watched the clock and gave me the choice. Since we're talking about screwing legs onto a table here, I opted to finish it up myself and save the money. I hope I don't have to move again for a long time, but if I do I'll definitely be calling Fischer (and asking for Ron and Daniel). read more

Back in March '09 I needed help pack up a couple storage units I had rented from Door to Door. I had a 800 sq ft apartment on the 2nd floor and an upright piano. I spoke with Jon (I think) and we worked out the details for how many people he thought I would need and how much time. He listed everything in an email to the detail and went over insurance as I was worried about my piano. He suggested 3 people for 2 hours and I agreed as it took that long to put all the items in there in the first place. I have never seen people move so fast!!! My apartment was empty and packed (quite tightly as there was little room to spare) into the pods within 1 hour! I was very impressed how they kept care of my valuable items and made sure they were in a good place in the pods and covered them with extra blankets I had on hand to keep them safe. When I opened the pods 7 months later everything was still in its place and not a single thing was broken :) read more

Ordering / Prep - folks on the phone were courteous and well-informed - prices were what they said they were; no bait & switch - rep answered all my questions without rushing me - they called to confirm a few days before, as they promised they would Day of the Move - call-ahead was on-time - movers were courteous and easy to work with - truck was clean, and they used plenty of blankets, etc to protect my stuff - movers weren't exactly rushing, but I didn't catch them goofing off at all - they didn't break or damage anything (bonus points for that) - billing was fair and well-explained - payment via mobile CC reader made life super easy Follow-up - had one or two issues, got adequate follow-up after I paid my bill (unusual) Overall - the service was very solid, and I'd definitely use them again or recommend them to my friends. 5 star rating, no reservations. read more

We scheduled to move at 1pm, 10 days prior to the moving day. The day before our moving day, the owner of the company called and wanted to confirm that we are moving at "3pm." (?!?!?) After having my husband call back (he originally set up the appointment), we were told they would be at our place "as soon as they could after their first job." They ended up showing up at 1:30pm, which wasn't too bad. Three guys showed up and they started moving pretty fast. We expected our move to take about 5 hours, but it ended up taking 6 hours. We paid $950 to move from Tech Center to Lowry. I thought it was pretty expensive. They did great with our furniture but failed to tell us they broke one of our end tables. I guess it wasn't that sturdy anyway but it would have been nice if they told us. After all, they had to know since they carried it in. We also found our guest room mattress damaged a little. When it was around 7pm, they wanted to finish the job so they wouldn't have to charge us for the 7th hour. They unloaded all the boxes into our garage, which we had to carry in ourselves later. (that sucked after paying almost $1,000) They were professional and nice but if you want to try these guys, schedule your move in the morning, so they are not tired or "light-headed" from working too many hours. In response to the comment from the owner - we signed the paperwork saying nothing was broken without checking anything because we were running out of time. We couldn't possibly check every piece of furniture we own before their departure. Sounds like it's "my fault" I didn't check everything in the midst of a stressful move. read more

The last time I hired movers I had a horrible experience so I really took my time getting quotes and reading reviews this time. Fischer Van Lines Moving & Storage by far outshone all the other area movers in terms of positive reviews. On top of that, my email and phone conversations made choosing Fischer Van Lines seem like a no-brainer. On the day of the move, everything ... and I mean everything ... went down just as I had been told. I can't tell you how different that was from my previous experience. I received the confirmation calls exactly as promised. I was given a 30 minute window of arrival depending on traffic, and they arrived exactly as promised (my previous movers were 6 hours late ... yep ... 6 hours). Now my move was pretty small ... going from a studio apartment to a one bedroom ... and my stuff has lived a pretty hard life, but they treated it all with the utmost care and respect. I was amazed as one guy moved most of the pieces ... he was a blur ... I couldn't figure out how he moved so fast ... just as he left with a dolly loaded with boxes he was back ... then when it was time to move a larger piece the other guy magically appeared ... it was obvious they were doing some well orchestrated pass off as my apartment quickly emptied and the truck quickly filled. The efficiency and care of this two man team told me this wasn't their first (or 100th) rodeo. My new place was a tricky move up some outside stairs with pretty severe switchbacks. They put pads down to protect my stuff and they figured out exactly how to maneuver each piece (including a queen sized mattress set) seamlessly into my new apartment. True pros. I can't recommend these folks enough. Everyone I dealt with was professional and more importantly, really cool. It's a very personal thing to put your stuff in the hands of strangers and they took that very seriously. And I can't emphasize enough, you can trust what they tell you. The quote they gave me came through EXACTLY. But even if it hadn't, they told me exactly how that would be handled as well. And that is why I would recommend these folks ... they let you know exactly how it's going to go down and then they follow through, and that is a rarity in this business. They ROCK! read more

Honestly, I have never used a moving company before. So the first thing I thought of was to give a search on the internet and see what comes up for a local move in the Denver area. Fischer came up a few times and the reviews were all top notch. Other companies offered "flat-rate" local moves, but when I called them I just didn't get the feeling that this was the case. After emailing Fischer with a general list of what I had and where I was going, I received both a voice mail from the owner (Jeff) and an email with a quote. At this point, I knew I was dealing with a professional company. The day of the move, Blake gave me a call to let me know that they had finished their morning appointment early and if it would be OK to show up early to get me going. This was fantastic news as I was eager to get things going. Blake and Johnny showed up, gave a quick walk through of my one bedroom apartment and got to work quickly. No time was wasted and they knew exactly how to tackle each parcel as it was carefully passed through the door and onto the truck. Once the truck was loaded, Blake confirmed the destination address and we were on our way. We both left at the same time (Westminster to Downtown Denver). They actually beat me to the new place! As I arrived, the truck was parked in a prime location and they were already preparing to unload. The move in was just as quick (aside from the two story climb) as the move out. Both Blake and Johnny tackled the job without hesitation or delay and even offered some advice as to what to cool places to check out given my new surroundings. All in all, it was one of the best experiences I have had doing business with a company in a long while. Not only did they come in and do the job that was requested, they did it efficiently and with top-notch customer service. That is hard to find in a company. Tthese guys are super accommodating. I used them for their moving services. They were FAST and pretty careful with my stuff. Hardest working guys you'll ever meet. Storage rates are reasonable. And it's very much "no frills". But reasonable. It's not like a typical storage unit, where you can just come and go. What can I say, these guys really do run a solid business. Update: Yelp is suppressing my 1 star review, so let's see if 3 stars works. Pros: Moved things very carefully - no scrapes or scratches on the wall. Movers were very nice, courteous, and clean. Cons: Took almost twice as long to move as their quote (7 hours instead of 4), and were a bit curt over the phone. Were a little late (not such a big deal). Called me up the night before and said I should pay them $125 (plus an hourly if we went over time) more for an additional mover (after their bid and 3 additional phone calls the week before). Didn't bring the right equipment and had to wait around for someone to drive it out. Didn't tell us they weren't responsible for particle board until they showed up (a leg on the cat scratching post was broken and they weren't responsible). Seemed like they spent a good deal of time waiting around for the other person to do something (probably because I couldn't afford the third guy). Ended up being several hundred dollars more than their quote (a big deal). We expressed our dissatisfaction over Yelp, and they emailed back, apologizing for not bringing the right dolly and offered to refund $205. It's been a month and we haven't heard from them. There were a few other points on my original post, but this will give you a general idea. When I first posted, there were several others on Yelp that echoed these opinions, but they have since been removed. Which leads me to believe that they are going over the comments and fixing any problems people are having (good for them!), but since my problems were not resolved, I feel like we should at least highlight our experience. UPDATE: In response to Jeff's comments... We called three times beforehand to discuss moving from a third floor to a three story house (though most of the stuff went on the main floor). They said they did not need to come out and do a walkthrough to give us an estimate, and they had everything they needed from our EXACT list of 24 items we told them over the phone (with approximate sizes and descriptions). We were specific to the letter about what we had to move, and the movers also mentioned how few items (though big) we had to move (24 items and no boxes shouldn't take 7 hours). As for taking breaks, my wife timed it on her phone, and someone was either standing around, taking a break, or folding blankets for just under 2 hours and 9 minutes. Jeff was not there and could not know how long they broke. As for the other reviews - judging from the fact that other negative reviews were online and are now gone, and because Jeff tried to buy our review ("I just want to know what I can do to have you remove it...As soon as it [your review] is removed I will put a check in the mail for the for the amount of $205.") I'm inclined to tell people NOT to take the other reviews into consideration. While going over yelp and offering refunds to people (or at least me) who leave negative feedback is a GREAT way to make sure everyone has a satisfactory experience, it leaves their Yelp page unfairly balanced towards the positive. read more

We hired Fischer Van Lines Moving & Storage to move our home into storage for two months while we waited for our new home to finish being built. The crew for both moves were fantastic and the pricing was more than fair for the size of truck and storage unit needed. None of our furniture or items in boxes were damaged and I found the crew to be very attentive to keeping everything in good shape. Lindsey was fantastic at coordinating everything and everyone involved was incredibly communicative throughout the entire process. Hopefully we won't be moving again anytime soon, but if we did I would hire this company again in a heartbeat. These guys are awesome! My move a year ago to Denver from Milwaukee was a nightmare. I had the crack head from hell movers from IL so I was a little weary about this move. But let me tell you Fischer was fabulous from beginning to end. The two guys who helped me move were under a really tight schedule as they had to get me out of my proior place in an hour. They worked like mad men and didn't damage a thing! They we friendly and thorough (I loved that they verified nicks/dinks from the prior crackheads which showed me that they were really on the ball). I know this is not important to the move but they we not just nice guys but they were cute too which made the move that much better. :) read more

My wife and I moved from a 2nd floor apartment to another second floor apartment on Dec 24th. They were very nice considering it was the day before Christmas. They called when on the way, and arrived right on time. I was impressed that the two movers would run back up the stairs each time they would unload something into their truck. Our large couch wouldn't fit into our doorway in our new apartment....so they loaded the couch on top of the truck, and then slid the couch in through the sliding door on the balcony! Amazing, and they finished in under 3 hours! We were very impressed, and will not look anywhere else next time we move. We are recommending them to anyone! read more

I hired these guys to help me out with my move from a one-bedroom in Capitol Hill to another one-bedroom in Capitol Hill (note... a notoriously tricky neighborhood to find a parking space in, which kind of adds to the stress of moving). I was totally on my own for this one, so I was REALLY hoping these guys would be at least remotely reliable and helpful. I was totally unprepared for how great they were. Shane and Freddy showed up not on time but EARLY (they politely called to make sure I was ready) and packed up my stuff in no time flat. They were unfazed by a kind-of-annoying apartment entrance and had strangely genius ideas for propping doors open when I [naturally] had no doorstop ready. Not only that, but they totally saved the day by taking apart my bed (...not an easy task, sorry guys) AND reconstructing it at my new place! (They also took into consideration the dimensions of my new teensy apartment and which angle my bed would be best at. That's right, they're also burgeoning interior designers.) Now, my old and new residence were less than a mile apart, but they finished in an hour and a half. (!!!) There's a three-hour minimum for payment, but honestly, their crazy hard work made it completely worthwhile. Before I knew it, I was feeling right at home in my new apartment long before I even thought they'd be finished. These guys came highly recommended from my sister (and apparently everyone else on Yelp), and it's not by accident! CALL THEM! (And tip them well, because they deserve it.) read more
