Fish dip was best of all items we tried.

Many ppl told us to try it... (We are year round residents) We other restarants Port & Taco Cabilito for reference. So we were excited to go and try. Hostess was great, server was quick & friendly. Food was ‍ Both my husband & i were disappointed. Drinks would be only reason for us to go back honestly.

Day 3. Sigh. That coffee. That view.

Returned for Day 2 breakfast. Didn't get Hailey as a waitress but Leo(?) was okay. Coffee (Lavazza) continues to fill me with joy. Breakfast sandwich was bread heavy and seasoning lite. View remains unmatched. Not as great a meal as Day 1 but still a lovely start to the day.

This was our first time visiting The Fish House, and we had a great experience! We arrived around 4:45 PM hoping to beat the rush since we know it's a popular spot. We only waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The parking lot fills up quickly, so my husband parked on the street, which is pretty normal for Sunset Beach and something we expected. We sat outside with the tables right in the sand, which is a beautiful setting but something to consider if you're visiting with little kids. Our waiter Robbie was one of the sweetest people we've ever interacted with. He's truly a gem--so attentive and always one step ahead of what we needed. We ordered a few different entrées to share along with cocktails, and everything was delicious. The spicy margarita was one of the best I've ever had! Great food, great atmosphere, and amazing service. We'll definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our lunch. There was a wait. We grabbed some cocktails at the bar and hung out. Got some good recs from the waitress. Had the lobster roll and the fish sandwich. Both were great. Beautiful place with great views of the beach and ocean. This was lunch. We actually tried to go the other night for dinner. There is no reservations and resulted in a 2 hr wait at around 9pm so we left.

This place screams "summer"! We stopped in for cocktails mid-afternoon on a June Saturday. We were fortunate enough to land 4 bar seats. The open-air environment was delightful! Ocean breezes and the fantastic smell of salty air. My friend and I ordered Aperol Spritz's while our guys ordered a Zest Lemonade and a Hugo's Garden. All cocktails were well-balanced and refreshing. Our bartender was SO SWEET! I wish I caught her name. She was an absolute doll and made our experience that much better. We didn't order any food, as we had dinner reservations elsewhere a couple of hours later. Their bathroom is one of those bougie porta-potties with running water and a true sink. No need to be frightened to use it! I would visit this place every day if I could.

Amazing breakfast right on the beach! The food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was wonderful, we had no wait, and the beautiful beach setting made the experience even better. I've returned to this restaurant several times, and it never disappoints. Great food, great atmosphere, and always a wonderful experience. Definitely a favorite and highly recommend!

Great food and atmosphere - bring bug spray because those mosquitoes are no joke! Great views for sunrise, be mindful that tables are limited to 90 minutes - so plan accordingly!

The flounder sandwich was really good. The bar tenders were very welcoming and we came up without an appointment. The ambiance was amazing, go for the sunset!

Shipwreck visible from the restaurant. Just a few steps onto the beach and you can take some stunning, waterfront photos.

Visited this spot in August 2025 for a bachelorette party and this was such a lovely spot to kick off the weekend. A friend recommended this location because it was on the water and supposedly had great views. Well, she was not wrong! We planned to enjoy dinner there at sunset, and it was absolutely stunning. You can even see a shipwreck in the water from the restaurant. The food was delicious and the outdoor bar overlooking the water was definitely popular! It was packed. I recall having a refreshing, bubbly, berry libation. So tasty and beautifully decorated with fruit and a pearl skewer on top. My only constructive criticism is that this place is very busy and the wait time can be quite long. You may consider sending one person from your party there a bit earlier to wait for a table, because it can be up to an hour wait during peak times. (Not a spot to head to if you are very hungry and need to eat ASAP!) Aside from having to wait about 45 minutes to be seated, this place is a gem. Would definitely come back for the relaxing, beach ambiance.

This is my second year coming back to fish house. If it wasn't for the atmosphere and yummy food this would be a skip for us. Both years we arrived on a week day before 6pm and the wait time was an hour and half for 4-5 people. Though there is a gift shop (which has a bathroom if you need to go) I recommend bringing a beach chair and relaxing. Or sending a member of your group to take one for the team and wait it out. They use the site Toast to see your spot in line. Now food wise could not recommend the cauliflower more. The crispy potatoes were good but could use more aioli and salt. The only food left on our plate was the lobster grilled cheese. Too soggy and wouldn't really call it a grilled cheese. The fries were utterly delicious and we ate them all. For drinks crowd favorite was Hugo's Garden and Sunset Spritz. Wear shoes you don't mind getting a little sandy cause some of the tables rest on a bed of sand. There is truly no bad view no matter where they sit you. There is a 90 min seating limit to accommodate all the guests but after waiting so long for a table you don't need more than that.

We were on our way out of town after a week on the beach. Just sightseeing and shopping when we noticed the breakfast menu. We had no Idea. We were seated at the counter facing the ocean which was beautiful. Max was our server and did a great job. I had the yogurt parfait and my wife had the French toast with cream cheese and berries. It was all great and the capuchino was the real deal. Loved it.

I'd heard great things about The Fish House and was excited to try it, but overall it was just okay. The menu felt a bit limited, although they do offer some gluten-free options, including GF bread. Our server was amazing--truly the best part of the experience. We ordered espresso martinis, which were good but a little small for $16. For food, we had the burger, snapper sandwich, and lobster roll. Everything was fine, just nothing particularly memorable. The views and indoor fireplace were beautiful and made for a nice atmosphere, but the food and value didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

We had a wonderful experience while eating at the fish House off-season and midweek. I imagine that, since it is small that it can get really crowded during busy times. Our wait staff was wonderful and I'm sorry, but I can't remember her name. What a wonderful setting, right on Sunset Beach. You're looking out of an open space that looks like you're in a painting. There are heating elements throughout on the ceiling which keep the restaurant fairly warm even though it is open air. I imagine in cooler weather they close all the flaps. I was disappointed that they didn't have soup of the day, but I did order a wonderful salad and added a crabcake. Fresh and delicious. Plenty of beers on tap as well as a full bar. Cape May IPA is a great selection.

TLDR: Future customers be warned that your preferences are not respected here…read more I love the sandwiches here. HOWEVER today we experienced 100% unacceptable behavior by the chef (I believe the owner) in the back. My friend, who unfortunately lost her voice, ordered a sandwich through the notes app on her phone to the girl at the desk. Her order was an Italian with diablo and liverwurst. The girl understood it fine, asked some questions but they understood the order. He came to the front and asked to confirm the sandwich with salami, pepperoni, and capicola, PLUS the liverwurst. He told us that's not something he had heard of before but we confirmed we wanted it all on one sandwich and he went back. Seemed fine and understood. When we got to the counter, they had two sandwiches ready for us. We informed her it was liverwurst and she just handed over the one sandwich. Paid and then checked the sandwiches after the confusion. We realized they just put liverwurst and peppers into the sandwich and nothing from the Italian. We went back into explain, talked to the first girl at the counter. She asked "did we write the order wrong?" And I confirmed for my friend, we just wanted to add liverwurst and peppers to the Italian sandwich. She said okay and that they would remake it. Then the owner came back. He gave us a serious attitude and said "I'm not making it that," openly insulted her order by saying "those meats don't go together" and that he wouldn't honor the order despite her already paying for it. I told him "It's what she ORDERED, that's what she wants." He replied "I don't care, I'm not doing it." (A simple "we don't do modifications" would have been totally understandable by us instead of this.) Thankfully, his entire wonderful staff heard. I asked about just paying for the other sandwich so we could combine it at home. The amazing woman at checkout gave us the other sandwich for free. The second star is purely for the generosity and understanding of the staff. We understand it was busy and sometimes things get overlooked, but the behavior from this guy was extremely unprofessional. Their only saving grace was their extremely kind and apologetic staff. Future customers be warned that your preferences are not respected here. A quote from my friend when we were home: "I was half-hoping that when I added the two sandwiches together, it would be disgusting and he might have been justifiable. But it was delicious just as I ordered it." We brought our friend to visit Sea Isle City to show her the best it has to offer, and it's a shame the owner's behavior ruined this experience.

The bartender catered to the locals and had her little chitchat going. Do you restaurant owners not realize that there are people coming in and out of town at all times and on various days and we may work in service industries and maybe even the restaurants/hospitality industry I ordered whatever the burger is with the Gorgonzola cheese and it wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Between the burger the bun the tomato and the onion was hard to get your mouth around but it wasn't really worth it to stretch your mouth that far. You had a choice of fries or salad and I chose the fries. In all honesty I've been in Cape May for a week now and have eaten out nearly every day and had some outstanding fries and I would swear these were yesterday's fries if not yesterday's fries from somebody else's plate. I asked the bartender if these were the normal presentation of the fries she said "oh yes they're hand cut fries" my question would be hand cut when and fried when? They were overdone and mushy. . And after exchange the bartender adopted a pissy attitude. Here's my thing to the managers/owners of this establishment: I have worked in various forms in hospitality and customer service. I'm also an older person, consumer, frequent visitor of restaurants and bars. Take this however you will. It's a Tuesday afternoon... The servers and the service and the food should be exactly the fucking same as it is on Friday and Saturday night. Feel free to contact me if I said anything out of line. PS I'm an interim innkeeper in Cape May and I will definitely be steering people away from your restaurant even though I've had decent experiences in the past. There's too much competition out there for too few dollars. Smarten up
