Fish dip was best of all items we tried.

Many ppl told us to try it... (We are year round residents) We other restarants Port & Taco Cabilito for reference. So we were excited to go and try. Hostess was great, server was quick & friendly. Food was ‍ Both my husband & i were disappointed. Drinks would be only reason for us to go back honestly.

Day 3. Sigh. That coffee. That view.

Returned for Day 2 breakfast. Didn't get Hailey as a waitress but Leo(?) was okay. Coffee (Lavazza) continues to fill me with joy. Breakfast sandwich was bread heavy and seasoning lite. View remains unmatched. Not as great a meal as Day 1 but still a lovely start to the day.

This was our first time visiting The Fish House, and we had a great experience! We arrived around 4:45 PM hoping to beat the rush since we know it's a popular spot. We only waited about 15 minutes to be seated. The parking lot fills up quickly, so my husband parked on the street, which is pretty normal for Sunset Beach and something we expected. We sat outside with the tables right in the sand, which is a beautiful setting but something to consider if you're visiting with little kids. Our waiter Robbie was one of the sweetest people we've ever interacted with. He's truly a gem--so attentive and always one step ahead of what we needed. We ordered a few different entrées to share along with cocktails, and everything was delicious. The spicy margarita was one of the best I've ever had! Great food, great atmosphere, and amazing service. We'll definitely be back!

Really enjoyed our lunch. There was a wait. We grabbed some cocktails at the bar and hung out. Got some good recs from the waitress. Had the lobster roll and the fish sandwich. Both were great. Beautiful place with great views of the beach and ocean. This was lunch. We actually tried to go the other night for dinner. There is no reservations and resulted in a 2 hr wait at around 9pm so we left.

This place screams "summer"! We stopped in for cocktails mid-afternoon on a June Saturday. We were fortunate enough to land 4 bar seats. The open-air environment was delightful! Ocean breezes and the fantastic smell of salty air. My friend and I ordered Aperol Spritz's while our guys ordered a Zest Lemonade and a Hugo's Garden. All cocktails were well-balanced and refreshing. Our bartender was SO SWEET! I wish I caught her name. She was an absolute doll and made our experience that much better. We didn't order any food, as we had dinner reservations elsewhere a couple of hours later. Their bathroom is one of those bougie porta-potties with running water and a true sink. No need to be frightened to use it! I would visit this place every day if I could.

Amazing breakfast right on the beach! The food was absolutely delicious! The atmosphere was wonderful, we had no wait, and the beautiful beach setting made the experience even better. I've returned to this restaurant several times, and it never disappoints. Great food, great atmosphere, and always a wonderful experience. Definitely a favorite and highly recommend!

Great food and atmosphere - bring bug spray because those mosquitoes are no joke! Great views for sunrise, be mindful that tables are limited to 90 minutes - so plan accordingly!

The flounder sandwich was really good. The bar tenders were very welcoming and we came up without an appointment. The ambiance was amazing, go for the sunset!

Shipwreck visible from the restaurant. Just a few steps onto the beach and you can take some stunning, waterfront photos.

Visited this spot in August 2025 for a bachelorette party and this was such a lovely spot to kick off the weekend. A friend recommended this location because it was on the water and supposedly had great views. Well, she was not wrong! We planned to enjoy dinner there at sunset, and it was absolutely stunning. You can even see a shipwreck in the water from the restaurant. The food was delicious and the outdoor bar overlooking the water was definitely popular! It was packed. I recall having a refreshing, bubbly, berry libation. So tasty and beautifully decorated with fruit and a pearl skewer on top. My only constructive criticism is that this place is very busy and the wait time can be quite long. You may consider sending one person from your party there a bit earlier to wait for a table, because it can be up to an hour wait during peak times. (Not a spot to head to if you are very hungry and need to eat ASAP!) Aside from having to wait about 45 minutes to be seated, this place is a gem. Would definitely come back for the relaxing, beach ambiance.

This is my second year coming back to fish house. If it wasn't for the atmosphere and yummy food this would be a skip for us. Both years we arrived on a week day before 6pm and the wait time was an hour and half for 4-5 people. Though there is a gift shop (which has a bathroom if you need to go) I recommend bringing a beach chair and relaxing. Or sending a member of your group to take one for the team and wait it out. They use the site Toast to see your spot in line. Now food wise could not recommend the cauliflower more. The crispy potatoes were good but could use more aioli and salt. The only food left on our plate was the lobster grilled cheese. Too soggy and wouldn't really call it a grilled cheese. The fries were utterly delicious and we ate them all. For drinks crowd favorite was Hugo's Garden and Sunset Spritz. Wear shoes you don't mind getting a little sandy cause some of the tables rest on a bed of sand. There is truly no bad view no matter where they sit you. There is a 90 min seating limit to accommodate all the guests but after waiting so long for a table you don't need more than that.

We were on our way out of town after a week on the beach. Just sightseeing and shopping when we noticed the breakfast menu. We had no Idea. We were seated at the counter facing the ocean which was beautiful. Max was our server and did a great job. I had the yogurt parfait and my wife had the French toast with cream cheese and berries. It was all great and the capuchino was the real deal. Loved it.

I'd heard great things about The Fish House and was excited to try it, but overall it was just okay. The menu felt a bit limited, although they do offer some gluten-free options, including GF bread. Our server was amazing--truly the best part of the experience. We ordered espresso martinis, which were good but a little small for $16. For food, we had the burger, snapper sandwich, and lobster roll. Everything was fine, just nothing particularly memorable. The views and indoor fireplace were beautiful and made for a nice atmosphere, but the food and value didn't quite live up to the hype for me.

We had a wonderful experience while eating at the fish House off-season and midweek. I imagine that, since it is small that it can get really crowded during busy times. Our wait staff was wonderful and I'm sorry, but I can't remember her name. What a wonderful setting, right on Sunset Beach. You're looking out of an open space that looks like you're in a painting. There are heating elements throughout on the ceiling which keep the restaurant fairly warm even though it is open air. I imagine in cooler weather they close all the flaps. I was disappointed that they didn't have soup of the day, but I did order a wonderful salad and added a crabcake. Fresh and delicious. Plenty of beers on tap as well as a full bar. Cape May IPA is a great selection.

Reservations seem highly recommended because it seems most people came here with one. It's fine dining (price-wise - very reasonable for fine dining). It's also BYOB -- like the name says. I loved every moment of this. Service was very attentive and professional. I did feel worried that I was a bit underdressed because I had tennis shoes on, but it was not an issue. It is not a huge restaurant, but it's elegant and definitely meant more as a special night out than a casual spot. If you are looking for seafood options, look no further than here. If you want to impress someone, take them here. Now, onto the food. The bread is complimentary and we ate it all (along with our refill). The butter was freshly made, I believe. I had the winter prix fixe menu and my sister ordered à la carte. Their prix fixe and tasting menus tend to change quite often so it'll always be interesting. My sister ordered the Spanish octopus (1st course) and the Scottish Salmon. I had some of her octopus and salmon. They were both such well-made dishes. We would definitely order the octopus again. Chewy and delicate. I had the arancini, fra diavolo, and the chocolate tart. It was absolutely delicious. The arancini were small, but it was still well filled with tiny bites of clam. The fra diavolo was also very good and filling. Plenty of seafood to go around in that dish. Spicy too, which I like. At the end, we shared a chocolate tart -- and I must say, we were already full at this point. The chocolate was rich and the pistachio ice cream was perfect. We will definitely be back.

Reservations are a must and don't forget to BYOB. The vibes are quaint with a very small indoor dining room and an outdoor patio that's a bit larger. I'm really glad we requested a table outside, because the patio was so nice on a warm summer evening. What we ate -- started things off with mozzarella and heirloom tomato salad (on special) and kale cesar. All produce is sourced locally from Beach Plum Farm and both dishes were fab. For our main we shared crab cakes and scallops. Both were so fresh and came with a large portion. Every entree comes with brown rice and house cabbage slaw. Reviews will mention that this is pretty plain, but with the fresh seafood and dipping sauces it's really the perfect accompaniment. The scallops came with a delicious sweet ginger sauce and the crab cakes came with a creamy lemony tartar sauce. The decor is fun and kitschy and the inflatable whale in the bathroom tub made me laugh. Don't forget to grab a chocolate bar at the Louisa's chocolate shop which is adjacent to the restaurant. I'll be thinking about this meal for a while.

The spaces are fairly narrow, though, so be careful to park fully between the white lines. If you come in through the back entrance near the bar, you'll need to turn right and walk all the way to the front to find the hostess stand. The bar-area staff seemed a little annoyed when people asked where the hostess stand or restrooms were, although I imagine they probably get those questions often. The hostess was pleasant and seated us promptly. One note for anyone who tends to get cold: bring a cardigan or light jacket. There was a floor vent right beside our table, and I got pretty chilly as the evening went on. The menu offered a wide range of options, from pork chops and duck to salmon, but I was not especially excited by many of the pairings. I started with the crab soup and ordered the blackened sea bass special with coconut rice for my entrée. For the table, we shared the bang bang shrimp and burrata. Both were adequately portioned for our party of five. The bang bang shrimp had the right amount of heat, and the burrata was a nice combination of warm pita bread, portobello mushroom, cooked red peppers, fresh greens, and burrata. I would recommend both appetizers. My crab soup arrived hot and was perfectly seasoned. The spice level was just right, and I liked the balance of small strips of crab throughout, along with a few larger pieces. In my opinion, it had an excellent ratio of crab meat, vegetables, and broth. Unfortunately, the entrées were less impressive. They were all beautifully presented--colorful and nicely portioned--but the flavors left something to be desired. My sea bass was certainly blackened, but I would have enjoyed it much more if the skin had been crisp. Instead, it was soggy, likely because it was placed directly on top of the coconut rice, which also became soggy. The mango pieces were larger than necessary, and there was far too much of the tomato, green pepper, and onion mixture on top. At $46, I expected more in terms of flavor. On a positive note, our waitress was friendly and professional, and the young man who brought out our food was pleasant as well. The food also arrived quickly. Since this was my first visit to the area, I would like to explore other local restaurants before returning. Still, I would not be opposed to giving Oyster Bay Restaurant & Bar another chance and trying a different entrée--possibly the swordfish.

Between the burger the bun the tomato and the onion was hard to get your mouth around but it wasn't really worth it to stretch your mouth that far. You had a choice of fries or salad and I chose the fries. In all honesty I've been in Cape May for a week now and have eaten out nearly every day and had some outstanding fries and I would swear these were yesterday's fries if not yesterday's fries from somebody else's plate. I asked the bartender if these were the normal presentation of the fries she said "oh yes they're hand cut fries" my question would be hand cut when and fried when? They were overdone and mushy. . And after exchange the bartender adopted a pissy attitude. Here's my thing to the managers/owners of this establishment: I have worked in various forms in hospitality and customer service.
