Stopped by here for lunch. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seats. Love the service! The owners stopped by a few of times to make sure we got everything we need. I have to say the whole fried fish was delicious. It was already tasty without the sauce! The fried fish was served hot, and bc it fresh, it was juicy too. Definitely will come back if I have another opportunity! read more

Whenever we drive past there is always a line! We make sure to come between lunch and dinner in order to get a table. The seafood and ingredients are always so fresh. Their frozen drinks are made with real fruit. I always go for the blackened fish bites as a starter! Don't sleep on the poutine fries or cheese curds - the owners are from the Midwest and add their own flare to the menu sides. Always consistently great food! read more

I needed a seafood fix after a hot day on the beach. In October. That's a story for the climate change naysayers. Anyway I was craving shrimps as I do when I'm at the coast and traveling solo I wanted something low key. This place did not even show up on Yelp. I just saw people sitting outside and the open vibe and thought yep. Well the grilled shrimp tacos hit the spot. A little extra salt or spice would have made them perfection on a cloud of cabbage, but not gonna quibble. The Caesar salad also surprisingly good, would have liked a few more croutons but plenty of romaine there. Gotta feed my gluten monster. The star of the show was the generous Mohito. And the reggae playing in the background. Boy I just love it when I stumble on places like this. read more

Loved the fish tacos and sister had spiced shrimp. Wine and beer. Great food and lady at register, dark hair, was terrific explaining first time visit and how it goes. Blonde clerk had 12 year old disgusted face we didn't get it, made face, and walked away. I work in middle school and have seen that face. Almost ruined it but the food was so good, ignore this time. This is the best seafood I've ever had. Everything is fresh and caught within a day or so of eating it. They are only open Wednesday to Sunday and select months of the year. We got so much food and everyone was more than satisfied with their selection. The peel and eat shrimp is super flavorful, the tuna tacos are great as well. For sides I would recommend cheese curds and onion rings. Expect to wait in a very long line (but well worth it). They allow you to drink in line to help with the wait. I would highly recommend getting there before 7:15 as they cut the line off with anticipation the last people wouldn't get served till they close. read more

We had a great dinner at Fish Hut last night and what a gem. We absolutely loved the atmosphere, love the concept of the "honor system" and love that you could grab a beer (or two... or four) while waiting in line. I had a blueberry jalapeño margarita that was amazing while waiting. My husband had the poke bowl, I had the shrimp tacos with Wisconsin cheese curds, and our toddler had the fish bites. The fish bites were amazing, the shrimp tacos were out of this world and the french fries were delicious. My husbands poke bowl was good but lacked flavor and the cheese curds were a bit over cooked and crunchy. Once we were finally able to order, the food came out quickly and the service was excellent. We came at 6 pm on a Saturday night and did have to wait in line for about 45 minutes before actually ordering and sitting down... that was definitely the biggest down side especially while trying to entertain a 2 year old in the parking lot all while trying to hold a spot in line. The peel and eat shrimp was really good! The only drawn back was the long wait in line outside. If you go right at dinner time be prepared to wait about an hour or so. All in all it's a tasty and casual dining experience. read more

Ok, cancel whatever plans you've made and come here instead! Thanks to a recommendation from a Beaufort local, we came here for lunch on their 2022 opening day. 5 stars for the extremely friendly and helpful staff alone! Loved the beachy/tiki vibe...but just wait til you get to the food. I had blackened fish and a salad. Fish was flaky and very tasty. Salad was a bowl of lettuce with a few pieces of tomato and a couple of croutons. Doesn't really qualify to be called a salad. Very friendly and alert staff. My rating is not for the fish ( that would be 4, not five, because it was on the thin side) but for the outrageous lack of concern demonstrated by the management for customer virus transmission. Customers are bunched together inside for 10-15 minutes waiting to place their orders. If anyone has COVID others are almost certain to get it if they have not been vaccinated. I think they should give customers the option of ordering from outside tables, which there are several, and have the food brought outside to them so they can avoid the congestion and potential transmission with inside waiting and ordering. read more

So yummy! As we were headed to the beach we saw this place and decided we go there for a later lunch and it did not disappoint. I got the blackened fish (grouper) tacos with french fries and my friend got the flounder with beans and cheese curds as their side. Both dishes were delicious! This was our first trip to Emerald Isle. We stopped to grab an early dinner after our 4.5 hour journey from Charlotte, NC. Fish Hut Grill is a must try if you're in the area! Outside of the parking being a little tight (likely because they've got a great steady flow of business), this place is pretty amazing. My husband had the Soft Shell Crab Sandwich (not pictured) and I had the Ahi Tacos. We shared an order of the Minnesota Poutine. Portions were ridiculously generous and everything we ordered was delicious, not to mention their solid craft beer selection. Last but certainly not least, the staff is friendly, attentive, and intent on making your visit a memorable one. Highly recommended, we can't wait to come back with the family! read more

Awesome spot, it's where the locals go. Don't be discouraged by the line, it moves fast and the bartender serves the line their drink of choice if they'd like one. Blackened shrimp Cesar salad, peel and eat shrimp and the fish sandwiches with homemade pickle are my favorite things! Laid back beach spot, everyone is welcome. read more

These are the freshest, crispest fried fish tacos I've ever had. The salsa was fresh and flavorful too. The cheese curds and poutine was delicious. Even the Caesar salad was fresh and crisp. First we were told that the phones were working, but I got a message saying the voicemail had not been set up. Second, we drove in thinking we had to pay to park. Third we placed the order, but, I had to call my daughter to get additional info about cooking preferances. Fourth, we placed the order with the hostess who then tells us there is a 18% tip imposed on orders over $100. The order was $103 (after my husband and I dropped our meals from the order). This is absolutely absurd. Very frustrating evening for my husband and I. We are on vacation, and this is the hospitality shown to visitors. We asked to split the order, so that I could place an order for my daughter and my husband could place an order for us. But oh no, you can't do that. And then we were told that there would be a charge to use a credit card. Do you know how to rub salt in the wound. We paid $133.89 for a carry out food order that was barely over $100.

Fish Hut Grill was awesome. Good local fish fried and grilled. I love the whole fish. Drinks are fresh squeezed. Love that they use fresh ingredients. When I checked the reviews I noticed that people are mad because they have a happy smiling face greeting them. I love to see that when I walk in! I also love that they give you the choice to wear a mask, it's open air restaurant with tables outside. All the bad reviews are because they give you the freedom to choose. You have the freedom to not come to the FHG. I just checked the numbers and it was .000251 of you dying from covid in North Carolina. Just a heads-up! The restaurant is closed on Monday to Wednesday, but they're open from Thursday to Sunday. They operate on a first-come, first-served basis, so no reservations. Be prepared for a long line in the evenings, but we managed to skip it on our second visit by going in the afternoon - although it's not guaranteed. The fish is super fresh, crispy, and delicious. We tried the fried snapper, and it was huge - definitely enough for 3 people. The staff is incredibly nice, helpful, and friendly. I absolutely love this place and would highly recommend it! This restaurant does not require face coverings for servers or patrons. They don't practice social distancing or reduced capacity inside or out. Now they have a big sign saying freedom is essential. If they think pandemic safety is an infringement, I wonder how they feel about food safety regulations and having employees wash their hands after the bathroom? Wow I wish we had started our vacation with this place. The food was great, grilled shrimp, peel n eat shrimp, soft shell crab sandwich, onion rings all delicious. Their drinks are tasty and the staff is amazing. You order first then get a table so the line is often out the door around the corner, so worth the wait though! This restaurant's "Freedom is essential" position is disappointing and concerning. There is no social distancing and not one employee wore a mask. The health and safety of its employees and patrons should be priority over their need to make a political statement.
