This is my second review of this eatery. My first review was based on breakfast; breakfast at a seafood restaurant. This time around I'm basing it on the actual seafood that was ordered by me and a friend. As a result the rating has been increased to a full 5 star. The service and the ambiance remain the same. The seafood is well prepared and the servings are more than generous. The fried okra and onion rings are well battered and crisp with good seasoning. The Po-Boy is a straight up one foot long so you either split it with someone or take half home. Crisp shrimp, crispy fried catfish..oh my! Hurry on over and then take home a pastry.

The fish is great, hot, tastes good and the place is immaculate. Service is great. The waiters are so nice. I will always go back.

We finally went through the reviews and decided it was the last day of vacation so we went. It did NOT disappoint. The outside looks a little sketchy for a seafood restaurant, quite honestly, but the inside was nice. You walk in and see several desserts which looked scrumptious. The seating area is very open and easily accessible. Our server was a young kid and very kind. He seemed a bit new as he couldn't answer many questions about the menu, or simply is one of those "read and figure it out yourself" type of servers. I'm sure you know the type. My husband and I both felt like he was maybe "partaking" before work as he was a little apathetic about everything. We ordered the corn dip appetizer which was the perfect blend of savory and spicy. Our toddler loved it. My husband ordered crab crusted red fish and he was blown away. I got the coconut shrimp and definitely should have done the half order. We got a few drinks and mine was pure alcohol, no juice to the point it tasted like I was drinking rum straight from the bottle. For dessert we got booze Oreo milkshakes which were delicious and we were able to take them home. We would definitely be back!

The restaurant is super clean and the environment is always welcoming. They greet and seat you pretty fast. My only suggestion is they train the employees more on cleanliness- I watched one of the waiters continuously scratch his head then touch plates and he coughed in his hand. I sat at the bar and never saw him wash his hands. I did tell what I presume to be the manager he went and washed his hands then did it again. It would make customers turn away. But the food is good. I also had the boudain balls and peel and eat shrimp. Both were good!

Actually I was very skeptic about this place, my buddy said they had some good crawfish. Upon…read morearrival there basically wasn't any cars in the parking lot and the building looked really run down. Inside was not really better, very old looking, also went to bathroom to wash up and there was an odor from the water. Thought I was in for a bad experience, but was totally surprised on how good everything was. Our waitress was very tentative and prompt and welcoming. We ordered spicy calamari, great amount of calamari and the hit of spice was detected. Fried nicely as well. I had the gumbo which the dark rue is how i like it, good amount of ingredients and the cup filled to the top that when putting the rice in it overflowed. Crawfish it was called curry style, was thinking there were going to be some hint of Indian flavoring, it wasn't. Though it was very delicious, very buttery/garlicky and another seasoning I couldn't put my finger on, but they were delicious. You can order more of their seasoning mix which we did and mixed it in the crawfish bag. Also 5lbs for $25 is a win.

My mother…read moreand I went here earlier today after I ran an errand to fulfill her craving for crawfish. Given that it's the fifth Friday of Lent, I still have to keep abstaining from meat so I ordered a fried fish platter. The platter consists of two nicely battered fish (forgive me for not knowing what kind it is), an ample serving of fries, and a salad. Mom, of course, had her crawfish. I'm happy to report that we both were satisfied with our meals. Mine was about nine bucks, which was three bucks cheaper than what most churches' fish fry celebrations were offering. The kitchen staff wasn't stingy with the fish; the pieces I got were pretty huge. It occurred to me that I love fish and chips as much as the British do. The young lady who served us did an outstanding job. When I asked for a go-to cup to put my iced tea in, she offered to give me a whole new drink. There were many good things that stemmed from today's visit that I just had to update my negative review from 2017.

Yesterday, I visited the Santa Fe location, which is closer to my house. This wasn't my first time at this VP&S since the last time I set foot here was about a decade. I even ordered something from the eatery through Uber Eats a few years ago. My previous review of this place was four stars; I'm updating it to add one more star for five. I already like VP&S, but this branch is by far my favorite among the locations throughout Galveston County. Not only is it a few minutes drive from my humble abode, but the food here is even better than its counterparts in LC and Dickinson. Just like last Saturday, I had the Village Special pizza except Santa Fe's was hotter, richer in cheese and toppings, and oh-so huge! The wings here are way better than the ones I had in LC. Tastier, crunchier, and filling. So much so that sauce or ranch dressing aren't necessary. Going back to the last time before yesterday when I visited, I must say that it's a bit bigger from what I remember. There must've been some work done.
