Went to get lunch which I only have 30 mins. I ordered online, picked up my food and ran back to my job to eat. When I opened my box there was a long hair inside my food. I called the store and they informed me that per the owners rules that in order to for me to receive a refund or have my order remade I would need to bring the food back within 24 hours since I couldn't make it back right then and there. We ate here this evening for my mothers birthday. While the server was really nice, the food was not. I was surprised since we had heard good things about this restaurant. The steaks had a freezer burn taste to it. One was supposed to be rare but was well done, which they replaced. The grilled shrimp was definitely over cooked and had a rubbery texture to it. The meal was supposed to come with broccoli, which it did not. When I mentioned it to the server her response was "so, are you done with the shrimp?" The stuffed salmon was not the best either. The salmon had an overly fishy taste to it and the stuffing was just bla. Needless to say, we probably won't be going back anytime soon. I had grilled shrimp that were absolutely delicious. The seasoning that was on them was what made the difference. The only downside was the salad I had was very watery. They failed to drain the washed lettuce and it was rather wet. Other than that, I would go again, when in town. read more

My husband and I went to Baytown Seafood Restaurant on June 25, 2023, in the evening. The service was deplorable; the food was subpar. If I could assign less than a one-star rating, I would. My husband asked about a seafood sampler. There was none. Ok, no problem. Then he asked if he could order scallops and fish. No, he could not. He would have to order two or three different entrees to get what he wanted. He ordered two crab cakes, initially. My food arrived; his crab cakes did not. Also, my food arrived prior to my salad. When asked about the salad, the server said she was not sure that I wanted it or not because I had ordered it with no onions and no dressing. That did not mean I did not want the salad. Oh my...She went to get the salad. Meanwhile, my husband saw another person's order that looked appealing and asked the server what it was (catfish and shrimp). He ordered the same. When it arrived, the portion size was a disappointment... He was over the dining experience by this point and asked for a takeout box. The server walked away to get one. I had to call her back to get me a second takeout box AND to let her know that since the salad never arrived, I would like for her to remove the baked potato from the bill--to compensate for the salad. She informed me that she could not do that, and she could bring me a salad to go. I asked for a manager at this point. She went to get the manager who arrived at the table to ask if "everything were ok." I said, "I think we both know that everything is not ok." Incidentally, I had heard the server and the manager discussing the situation behind me prior to her sauntering over to our table. I then made my request of the manager. She explained to me that the owners would not allow her to remove the baked potato from the bill in lieu of the missing salad. She offered an insincere, "I'm sorry," to which I replied, "We know that you are not truly sorry." At some point she offered a free dessert...to compensate for a missing salad...but could not substitute a potato for a missing salad...but could provide a dessert that cost the owner money...makes sense, right? Realizing the lack of care and concern for customer service, I asked her for the owner's name and number. She informed me that she could not provide that information. Hmmm. Any reputable business has an owner and phone number... When we went to check out, the server pecked and punched buttons on the register. From the kitchen entrance area, I heard indistinct chatter that included "is that the lady," meaning me, of course, and the next thing I know, the bill is reduced by approximately two dollars. What changed? At the register, I noticed a handwritten sign with the words "receipt" and "recieved." I took a pen, corrected the misspelled word "recieved" to the correct spelling "received," and was chastised by the manager who said, "Ma'am, please do not write on our signs." I called back to her, "I am correcting it for you," or words to that effect. It summed up the ghetto dining experience rather nicely. If you own this restaurant, please reach out to me and let us have a discussion. I notice that people who dare speak against this business are never acknowledged. Ate here yesterday .... mind you the place was not overly busy. They are having a few problems ... ? Waitress came to take order but also slipped up by complaining at our table about not being told she had a table to take of. My thought ... where was her personal attentiveness. Sweet Tea was awful. Not fresh brewed ... tasted like old instant tea was used and not sweet. Then found out the fountain soda machine was broke ... then very limited bottle soda choices. Had 2 catfish and 6 shrimp meal ... seemed as if it came from frozen package ... definitely not as good as in past. Dry and overcooked, possibly reheated even. Great Food, Great Prices, Not So Great Service. We got there and began to wait. A waitress came over and told us our waitress had a table of 10 and it would be a little bit but the waitress that came over would take our drink orders. We got our drinks and about 10 minutes later our waitress arrived, took our orders, (my wife ordered the crab legs, I ordered the lobster tails). Our food came in an acceptable amount of time but our waitress got my baked potato wrong and I ended up picking off green onions. The food was amazing, including the baked potato minus the green onions. The lobster and crab legs were both cooked perfectly and were good sizes. The prices were amazing too, $16.99 for a pound of crab legs dinner and $23.99 for two lobster tail dinner. I was very impressed with the quality. After finishing our food we began the wait for a to-go box and our check. After about 10 minutes I got up and self-helped myself to a to-go box for my wife's baked potato. It was another 10 minutes before we flagged down our waitress for the check. I don't blame the waitresses, they are severely understaffed. Baytown Seafood Restaurant is not an upscale, trendy place, actually very casual but, the food is to die for. We'll be back, hope the service improves. read more

There were a lot of menu options, which overwhelmed me, but everything seem to be a decent price. I got one of the daily lunch specials that was on the board when you first walk in. I got the one catfish fillet grilled with dirty rice, mixed veggies, and a side salad. Originally I was told that I could substitute my rice for a potato, but that didn't happen. The rice was under seasoned to me and I could've gone without it. The side salad was also disappointing with just basic iceberg lettuce. All of the salad dressings also tasted heavily of mayonnaise. The star of this dish was definitely the catfish and grilled shrimp. The catfish fillet was very large, I was quite surprised. The seasoning was also great. The girl shrimp was cooked nicely but Was not deveined. The veggies were also very flavorful. I left full and happy. We also got the fried pickles which were amazing!
