We really enjoyed our dinner here tonight. A nice, cute spot right in downtown. The service was friendly and welcoming. The menu has a ton of choices - we enjoyed everything we ordered. Great fresh oysters and, yes, fish. I like that you can basically create your own fish dish. We will Be back.

A Wednesday night dinner with another couple. Service was efficient and friendly. We began with some complimentary focaccia, which was nice but not enough for four. We shared shrimp tempura as an appetizer, fresh and tasty, but more like fried shrimp than a true tempura. I plumped for the paella, which was a generous portion with lots of quality seafood -- shrimp, clams, mussels, squid. However it was underseasoned and had no socarrat, so I would rate it as good, not great. La Portena's bouillabaisse was a more flavorful choice, although closer to a San Francisco seafood stew than a true bouillabaisse. The fourth member of our party had the crab cake appetizer as his main, those looked really good. If I come back I would try one of the more simple fish dishes and start with those crabby patties. Ambiance is quite casual and relaxed. An enjoyable experience.

This restaurant was worth the drive to Stamford. We wanted to try a new place and this was our pick. Awesome is the one word for this place. Right from the start until the end it was exceptionally wonderful. Go check it out. Enjoy the pictures from our picks for the night.

I can't say enough positive things about this restaurant. From their Happy Hour Menu to their regular menu. First thing I will mention is their drinks are outstanding. There is nothing better than superb drinks along with excellent food. The presentation is on point and its a nice vibe. I ordered the black and blue margarita and I was very pleased with the blend. The lobster and shrimp chowder was perfect well seasoned with a nice spice. I love shrimp so I had to order the stuffed shrimp with crabmeat. The presentation matched the taste. I looked at the dessert menu I was tempted to try the vanilla bread pudding but I thought about the calories and I passed on that. This restaurant is a nice cozy spot and is worth the trip.

Very tasty food! I stopped in with friends on a Monday. We had made a reservation but didn't need it since it was quiet. Service was attentive and refilled our water glasses regularly. I loved the shrimp tacos and Brussel sprout app that I got. The Brussel sprout dish surprised me since there were mashed potatoes underneath the Brussels. Normally I wouldn't think these two foods go together but it was delicious. The shrimp tacos were loaded with fillings and I loved the green sauce that came on the side. My friends ordered the blackened shrimp and avocado salad which they enjoyed. All the food was very fresh and tasty! I would definitely come back and recommend to friends!

Came here for the first time on a Friday. Love the interior and we sat at the bar. Had the fig Hennessy cocktail and it was very strong! Perfectly made. We had the crab cakes and brussel sprouts appetizer. The brussel sprouts appetizer was HUGE for two people! Then I split the salmon entree with the maple crust and capers/lemon sauce with my boyfriend. Everything was really tasty however I do wish they had some good music! I'd recommend this spot For sure though since they have a lot of options and good food.

Ask the Community - Fish Restaurant + Bar

Hi - I'm looking for a seafood spot for my partner's bday dinner. Wondering if this is more of a bar or a place for a semi-elegant dinner? It would just be the two of us.

Nisa, The bar and the dining area are separated by a "half" wall. The dining area would be a great place for a nice dinner.

Once we were seated the waiter arrived asking about drinks which we declined in favor of bottled water, i ordered coffee as well and was offered 1 whole cup. Nobody came around for refill the rest of the meal We each ordered an appetizer and a main, both of our mains featuring 2sunny side up. 15 -20 minutes later BOTH entrees and my appetizer arrive WTF? After that our server just seemed to disappear. My daughter had hangar steak & eggs. I had the pork carnitas and eggs. Both our order's eggs were ordered sunny side up. Typically it's the yolks that are runny but both of our orders had runny whites as well. All this time we waited on the other appetizer to arrive. For a place that was not very busy the service was galactically awful. The food was passable but not great. The banana bread appetizer arrived as the busboy came to take our entree dishes. And that was after 2 reminders to our waiter (both appetizers were taken to go). Whoever is running this place (nobody game by asking how our meal was) should be embarrassed. When i spoke with our waiter about the abysmal service he passed it off on the busboy! There is no sense of teamwork nor pride in doing a good job. Sad.

We hosted roughly 55 people and utilized the entire restaurant for our private event (restaurant buyout). From the onset, Ross and Eric (Mgr. + Assistant Mgr.) were incredibly friendly, responsive to all my questions via email, and agreed to meet not once, but TWICE in-person to ensure all details were accounted for, and that our requests would be accommodated. The event ran smoothly because of their professionalism and attention to detail. During the event, the kitchen, bar, and wait staff were incredibly attentive, kind, friendly, and honestly felt like part of the party the entire time. Our family and friends raved about the entire experience, including the service, the food, and the configuration of the space. Service was nice,…read morehowever the food was really disappointing, which is surprising given the good Yelp reviews this restaurant has. We tried: - Korean pork bao buns - very one note, overwhelmingly sour from the sauce. Not much contrast at all in flavors which you usually expect from a bao (sweet, salty, savory is what I would expect). - Fried cauliflower - I thought it was fried well and the sauce was good. The cauliflower itself didn't taste seasoned though. - Sausage roll - this was pretty good. - Linguine fra diavolo - supposedly the "staff favorite" they were out of shrimp so they made it with chicken. This was really bad. Overcooked, limp linguini with a very spicy, watery sauce. Hardly any chicken. This was worse than something you could make at home. - Signature meat pie - this seemed like it could be good but overall the pie and fries seemed old, like they had been cooked hours before and then reheated. Overall, the food was quite expensive and just not very tasty. We wouldn't come back based on this.

Inside is fairly small but the tables are large and can host groups up to six per table. They do have a giant menu filled with all sorts of options, some of them are pretty crazy, especially the influencer section of the menu. I started off with a cup of the chili and wasn't a huge fan of it. It tasted more like the Cincinnati chili and had a large amount of oil. For my entrée, I chose the cheesesteak and was hoping it was going to be like a traditional Philly style, but it wasn't quite. I liked it more than the chili but still made me wish that I ordered a tuna melt or something else. I would give it a try again on a future visit but would want to try it again before I recommend.

Today was the first time we've eaten here in years. We were seated immediately but we waited more than 40 minutes for the food to come. We watched people leave because they could not wait for their food any longer. At first, I thought a chef must have called out. When our food finally came, I was forced to look at the most unappealing home fries that were molded to the plastic container they were stored in. At least try to make them look fresh bru. And the whole restaurant was cold. I was cold. The food was cold. This place should be called COLD Street Diner, am I right? And the coffee refill came like once. In the whole hour and a half we were there. The only times someone would walk by was to clear a table, or that guy idk who he is idk if he's the owner but he was wearing balenciaga sweatpants and then he would just go stand by the register to sip on some wine. My mother ordered the huevos rancheros and they were bland asl. I ordered the birria omelette and it was BLAND EVERYTHING WAS BLAND!!! The birria was just wet it didn't taste like anything bro. We haven't been to the Norwalk location but a lady sitting next to us noticed that we weren't happy with our food and she was speculating that all the good cooks got transferred there. Whether it's the cooks to blame, or the fact that it's a busy Saturday, it's safe to say we will not be coming back.

The poké is a generous portion, so do yourself a favor and ask for more wonton chips. There's a small charge of $1. Well worth more chips to scoop the rest of the tuna, avocado, and cucumber marinated in teriyaki. We paired the starters with two peach bellinis and later tried a festive green mimosa created just for the Stamford St. Patrick's Day parade. The main event was a classic eggs Benedict done right--perfectly poached eggs over a thick, smoky slice of Canadian bacon, served with roasted potatoes drizzled with chipotle mayo, plus just a little fresh fruit on the side. Street parking can be a little challenging in the area because of the nearby offices and residential high-rises. However, there's a free underground parking garage literally around the corner from the restaurant, which makes things much easier. Parking ended up not being an issue at all.
