I took a 2 hour train from Brooklyn to Connecticut for lunch and I'd absolutely do it all over again! From the moment we walked in, the hospitality from the staff,and chef made us feel right at home. We started drinks with a Strawberry Cosmo and a Paloma Spritz. Both refreshing and dangerously strong in the best way possible. For apps we came for the Crispy Duck on Sushi Rice, and as someone who usually scared to eat duck, this completely changed my mind. The duck was unbelievably crispy, similar to crispy prosciutto, and paired perfectly with their special sauce. We also had to do the Crab Cake was another standout, especially with the house-made Green Goddess dressing. The chef even came out to explain how he prepares the sauce, which made the experience feel much more special. For the entrees, we ordered the Linguine Fra Diavolo, loaded with perfectly cooked shrimp and the perfect amount of spice, alongside the Steak & Chips finished with a truffle vinaigrette. Somehow, every single dish just kept getting better. And because we clearly hadn't eaten enough, we had to try the Bacon Mac & Cheese Balls with smoked tomato sauce. I honestly could've eaten an entire plate of those. To end our meal, the chef surprised us with his Duck Egg Brownie, and it was one of the softest, fudgiest brownies I've ever had. We had dinner on a Sunday night. It was quiet and not many people were there. Service was nice, however the food was really disappointing, which is surprising given the good Yelp reviews this restaurant has. We tried: - Korean pork bao buns - very one note, overwhelmingly sour from the sauce. Not much contrast at all in flavors which you usually expect from a bao (sweet, salty, savory is what I would expect). - Fried cauliflower - I thought it was fried well and the sauce was good. The cauliflower itself didn't taste seasoned though. - Sausage roll - this was pretty good. - Linguine fra diavolo - supposedly the "staff favorite" they were out of shrimp so they made it with chicken. This was really bad. Overcooked, limp linguini with a very spicy, watery sauce. Hardly any chicken. This was worse than something you could make at home. - Signature meat pie - this seemed like it could be good but overall the pie and fries seemed old, like they had been cooked hours before and then reheated. Overall, the food was quite expensive and just not very tasty. We wouldn't come back based on this. read more

The Wagyu Tartare was was one on the best I've had. The waffles were reminiscent of ones in Belgium and the dessert especially the rhubarb special was excellent. My husband and I recently hosted our baby shower for our first baby at Flinder's last weekend (3/21/26), and we couldn't have been happier with the experience. We hosted roughly 55 people and utilized the entire restaurant for our private event (restaurant buyout). From the onset, Ross and Eric (Mgr. + Assistant Mgr.) were incredibly friendly, responsive to all my questions via email, and agreed to meet not once, but TWICE in-person to ensure all details were accounted for, and that our requests would be accommodated. The event ran smoothly because of their professionalism and attention to detail. During the event, the kitchen, bar, and wait staff were incredibly attentive, kind, friendly, and honestly felt like part of the party the entire time. I dropped by here after work to use a $10 gift card that was about to expire , I missed happy hour (it ends at 6, same time as my shift), but bartender John was so welcoming I decided to stick around anyway. I spotted the Korean Pork Bao Buns on the menu and had to try them. Being a spicy lover, I ordered the Spiced Pineapple Margarita, only to realize too late it was spiced with cinnamon, not spicy. It tasted more like fall than fire, so I gave their drinks another try with The Hornet, now that hit the spot, with a nice hot honey sting. The bao buns took forever (maybe the pig was still being slaughtered in the back?) but they were worth the wait: fluffy clouds of happiness stuffed with juicy pork belly, tangy sauce, and crisp carrot and cilantro for a fresh crunch. I came here the other day for work and couldn't stop starring at the delicious food coming out while I was at the bar. So I came back with my family and tried a bunch of different appetizers we got the sausage rolls, the dumplings, the mac & cheese balls. All were very, very good. I got the pappardelle with grilled chicken, most of the table got burgers one got the chicken sandwich and another got pasta with shrimp. Every meal was so so delicious. I even got a nonalcoholic cocktail, which was also very good. I highly recommend this place for dates or family or going out with friends. Based on my experience at Flinders Lane, I'd say that if you're looking for a bar/pub experience then this would be a good choice, but as a restaurant I found that it fell short. Service I want to highlight that there were a lot of guests the night that I visited. A few people even waited at least 15 minutes for a seat. I'm not sure if they're unused to that volume but it seemed like they were understaffed. The person at the front responsible for seating was also a waiter. Typically, you don't see this and I understand why. It was hard to get his attention to place an order as he was caught between the customers in the section he was working with and greeting guests at the front. All the same, he was quick to bill and get the table ready for another guest. Food I was very disappointed with the food quality at Flinders Lane. It's possible that other items on the menu are more enjoyable. Bacon Mac and Cheese Balls - It was a generous serving - The outside was crunchy and warm - The mac and cheese itself was under-seasoned - There was no bacon - The dish left you searching for something to add to make it better Duck Dumplings - The texture of the dumpling skin was good - The sauce the dumplings were served in wasn't balanced in flavor. - You couldn't really tell that you were eating duck Grilled Kangaroo - The romesco sauce served with the grilled kangaroo was very good. - I've never had kangaroo before but based on this experience it's quite a tough meat. - Flavor-wise it was just ok. It tasted like steak. I see that Flinders has pretty high reviews here on Yelp, so I'm not sure if they were just having a bad night when I visited but, based on this experience I won't be returning. read more

I had the lobster and shrimp pasta and it was AMAZING! Hands down one of the best pasta dishes I've ever had. Shrimp and lobster was cooked to perfection and the sauce was amazing! I decided to check this place out after finishing up work in Stamford. I was looking for something unique and thought this place might fit the bill. I was enthusiastically greeted and asked where I wanted to sit-I chose the dining room. The dining area looks almost like a casual VIP lounge, cool, relaxed yet sophisticated. The host/server answered my draft beer questions and recommended the SixPoint which I was most pleased with, however, I did find the price a bit more than I would like for approx 8 oz. The meat pie of the month was chicken (it would be nice if the monthly choice was listed online or included in the menu specials) and came with fries and a side salad for $22. I am not a big FF fan and would have preferred something other than fries. I am sure that had I requested something else, they would have accommodated me; I did not ask. The salad with light dressing was the perfect accompaniment to the meat pie, and I loved the radishes in there! The pie shell was crunchy and flaky and the meat inside was tender, moist and extremely filling. They have a tasting menu of 3 courses available for $48 that I would maybe later try if in the area. Gnocchi so yummy, tuna tar perfection. Great dumplings. Not sure what's traditional Aussie food but I like the blend of flavors so far. My only complaint is the staff info on Open table is off. States happy hour daily 4-9:30. We came once at 7 only to find out that's incorrect. Also there is a place to join their tribe and her free items. Really cute place in downtown Stamford with a more laid back vibe - which I prefer. It's super conveniently located by the Courtyard and Residence Inn. I always mean to stop in when I'm here for work and finally did. I got the chicken dumplings, fried, and they were really good & cooked perfectly. I had intended to get there during happy hour, order a couple then a main but I missed it by 5 min ‍so I just got the dumplings (comes with 6) and can't speak to anything else food wise. If you like plain 'ole draft beer, nothing fancy, then the beer selection won't be your jam but they at least had PBR so I wasn't empty handed. Came here once before. I always forget about it because it's tucked away under apartment buildings but its so quaint. The bar is small, maybe 6 stools when all open so don't always plan on sitting there. The first time we came we were deciding whether or not we wanted to move to Stamford from NJ. How better to decide than getting drunk?! Well we loved the food, loved the bartender and ended up moving here. The bartender seemed genuinely interested in us and we had a great conversation. The second time was much different with covid but we still enjoyed it. The bartender wasn't as chummy but it might have been the plexiglass wrapped around the bar, wasn't great for chit chat. We had the happy hour pot stickers which are $1 each on Sundays. Drinks were half off. The wings were amazing, great sauce.
