I know the name of this place is Fish Taco, but let's talk about this guac... Hands down, this is the best guacamole I've ever had IN MY LIFE! It's so fresh and so flavorful. If this was the only thing that I had during my visit here, I would have been more than satisfied. Admittedly, I was a little concerned about the price of the chips and guac when I first ordered, but when I saw how much I got for the money, I wasn't even mad. And it's so good! If you get nothing else here, GET THE CHIPS AND GUAC! The signature fish tacos were really good too. The fish was perfectly crispy, with just the right amount of crunchy cabbage and a drizzle of sauce. Two tacos came with the order, as well as a side of rice and black beans. The black beans were seasoned very well and overall this made for an incredible meal. Would definitely eat here again whenever I'm in the area.
I come for their Taco Tuesday deal. It makes the price more affordable. The tacos are delicious and fresh. Staff is friendly. The order comes out decently quick. Would come again.
Stopped by for lunch on a Monday and caught Margarita Monday, all-day margaritas for $8. I ordered the fish stew, which had generous chunks of grilled fish (I believe it was mahi-mahi) and it was so good! Hot, flavorful, and perfect for a cold day. The chips and guacamole was great like usually. The service was welcoming & friendly like always. A cozy, satisfying lunch!
Tried this place for the first time and it was everything I could ask for. Great food, great service, great ambiance. Will be returning!!
Visited Fish Taco after a trip to Tysons Mall. Parking was easy in the nearby garage, and I was told the restaurant validated. They took my ticket inside, but I still had to pay five dollars when leaving, so not sure what happened there. The restaurant has plenty of seating and is a mix of self-serve and table service. You order at the counter, get a number, and someone brings your food. Utensils, napkins, and water are available on a side table. When you're done, you leave everything at the table and someone clears it for you. Staff was helpful and friendly. Food was good and served in lunch-sized portions. I had the steak rice bowl, which was simple and not super flavorful, but the steak had a nice smoky sear. My boyfriend got the signature fish taco bowl. I thought the fish was just okay, but I'm not a big fish fan. He swears by this place and says he used to eat here every day during his internship nearby, so that might say something.
Despite the name they have more than just Fish Tacos! I had the carnitas bowl this trip and it was pretty much perfect. The pork was lean and moist, the rice was fresh, all the vegetables tasted just right and the green salsa was the perfect match for everything. Portions are large here so be sure to get a to go box if you don't finish everything. The chips and guacamole are enjoyable as well. Service is fast and friendly here, you order at the counter and they bring your food to your table. Parking in the garage is free on weekends for up to two hours. Ive always enjoyed my meals here and I'll be back again.
The food here is pretty good. I got the signature fish rice bowl. It tasted good, but it wasn't anything special. The fish was crispy but tasted like it was something you could get from the store frozen, which I wouldn't say is a bad thing, but the fish was very ordinary. I liked the mix of vegetables in the bowl, and the sauce was tasty. Service was good. There was a good amount of seating. I came on a weekday during lunch, and it was pretty packed. This is nice place to go if you are looking for a casual lunch spot.
First time going to Fish Taco and it was amazing! Service was great and the food was amazing! The shrimp bowl was absolutely delicious. Everything was fresh and flavorful. The decor was nice and clean. Loved the outdoor seating. Definitely will go again next time I'm in the area
Feeling fintastic after a lunch here! The environment was laid back and casual. You order at the counter and they hand you a number. Pick a seat of your choice and they deliver your food to your table! I ordered two Street Tacos, one carnitas and one steak taco. The carnitas one was simple and was not dry. The steak one had a nice smokey flavor that I enjoyed! Both came with onion, cilantro, and salsa verde. The salsa verde was not too spicy and the vegetables were fresh. Next time, I would order another one! I think three would be a more filling amount.
Elote was one of the best ones I have had. The rice bowl was in decent potion for the price and was very fresh and flavorful. Grilled fish taco wasn't as good as the blackened fish taco. Plus tax and tips, we spent about $57. We think it's really worth it. The staffs were very friendly, musics played at the restaurant were great too. Very spacious and clean. Would definitely come back!
We got the Blackened Fish Burrito and Signature Fish Burrito... it's mostly rice. Not very flavorful. And the fish was scant throughout. Disappointed. Also, they said they'd call my name when my order was up. They did not. I waited for 20 minutes and when they saw me looking over, then they said my name and handed me two unlabeled burritos. There was one other customer in the restaurant. Mediocre experience at best. Taco Bell's grilled stuffed burrito would have been more satisfying. For $35, not worth it!! It was clean, maybe because it's empty.
So glad I discovered Fish Taco! Probably the best fish tacos I've had in the US. I tried the shrimp, salmon, and grilled fish and they were all excellent. Fish was fresh and I loved all the fixings - cabbage, corn, cilantro, etc. There was a kick to the tacos, but it was perfect for me. Fresh food that tastes like it's homemade, no pretenses, unlimited paper towels at the tables, and laidback atmosphere. I'll be back.
I love eating at this place!!! This time I think I ordered the wrong thing. Usually I enjoy all my food. This time, the blackened fish was too fishy in smell and taste. If it wasn't for that I would have enjoyed it a lot! I'm not going to knock off starts for that, because they're normally consistent with providing good fresh tasting ingredients. Ordered Rice & beans 7/10 Blackened fish taco 5/10 The ambiance is clean and casual. The service is good. They don't come to your seat, you order at the register.
My new go to for fish tacos!!! I lived in San Diego for the majority of my adult life and so I'm pretty picky about fish tacos. This place was delicious and had lots of great options. The shrimp ceviche is so yummy... super limey but I like it that way and it's a killer price! The green salsa is on point as well and the elite was great too! Great fast casual spot to get tacos/burritos in the Boro. I came for lunch and ordered the signature fish burrito. You order at the counter and they serve the meal to your table once it's ready. They also offer takeout. The burrito was great, I'm surprised how much they were able to pack into it! Parking is available in the garage or street nearby. Overall great experience and will be coming back again soon. read more
Was super excited to try this place due to the great reviews, but the tacos just did not pull through. It is a bit pricey for what we ordered as well... My boyfriend and i both got the beer battered fish tacos and we both felt like the coleslaw was a bit too much for the fish tacos. The fish was not flakey and the crust was not crispy--slightly disappointing. What I would recommend: - shrimp ceviche: very refreshing/citrus flavor - ELOTES!!!!!!!!!!!!! Would we come back? Probably for the elotes, but we will pass on the tacos. read more
I think I may have found my new favorite fish taco place. I can definitely see why this place has a name like that. When walking it they do have outside seating with umbrellas which is super cute and nice. They will give you a number when you order and bring the food to you. Their elote was pretty good but the star of the show was their FISH TACOS. I ordered 5 different tacos to give them all a try. Classic fish, blackened fish, barbacoa, carnitas, and chorizo. If I were to rank them from favorite to least it would be blackened fish, classic fish, carnitas, barbacoa, then chorizo. Most tacos come with a double tortilla. The fish was fresh and the flavor definitely packed an amazing punch. Staff was kind and provided some awesome recommendations too. Decided to try some "tacos" when I was in The Boro Tysons. The menu had a pretty decent amount of fish and different types of combos. Ultimately, I decided to try the burrito instead because I figure it'd be the best bang for your buck. I believe the burrito is the best choice if you were going to quantity (how much you'll be eating based on price). Although the price of their tacos are about $3-$3.50, it still wasn't worth it, in my opinion (my friend got the tacos). The burrito however was very flavorful - they have this excellent chili pepper relish that gives it a nice spice. The tortilla they use reminds me of the chipotle tortilla. There was a good amount of fish in the burrito, too. I was very impressed with the burrito. I would definitely give it another shot if I was in the area. Nothing too much to rave about, however. Almost similar to Slapfish but slightly better in terms of flavor. read more

My family liked Fish Taco, but didn't love it. Probably better for lunch than dinner. However, I appreciated that, once I discovered that the chili lime sauce on my grilled fish tacos was mayonnaise-based, the staff were willing to remake the dish for me sans sauce, and I enjoyed the dish at that point. I also liked the salad, with salsa on top. You order at the counter and your meal is brought to your table. read more

Hi I had a horrible experience at your Tyson's location today. Keep in mind I am a loyal customer and have been going to your restraunt for the past couple of years. Shrimp salad had wilted lettuce, shrimp not well done, my steak taco barely filled with steak, no toppings inside. My shrimp tacos rubbery and cold. What a waste of a meal and money. My total was almost 50$ and I threw it away!!! So disappointing read more

Heard good things about this place, glad they finally Opened! The interior is super cute and plenty of seating. They have a parking garage underneath that validates for 90 minutes. You can also park at the Whole Foods for free also, 90 minutes. They have a good selection for non meat eaters as well with salads, bowls, tacos and burritos. I got the shrimp bowl and my husband got 3 tacos: fish, shrimp, and veggie. The shrimp in my bowl had a really good charred grill flavor. I wish there were more! And the veggies and jalapeño relish were delicious. Looking forward to trying other things on the menu next time. read more

My friend and I happened to be in the area, so we decided to check out this place. I'm so glad we did because they have the best tacos. Our server Ramon, recommended I try the Baja Shrimp Taco which comes with rice and beans. It was so delicious! It's a nice restaurants no need to make reservation. You pick a table to sit and they bring your food to you by your table number. I'll be returning. read more
$4 for tacos? I've never paid so much for tacos before. The signature taco is pretty delicious though. I asked for cilantro and onions only but were very frugal with the toppings. I then went back for what they would normally dress it up with and the lady gave me lettuce and pico de gao and wanted to charge me for it but changed her mind. The waitress here seem a little confused about customer service and are willing to argue you down over some sauce. They're not helpful at all. read more

This one is hard because my experience at Fish Taco in Rockville is always consistent and great. However the tysons location is very inconsistent and this last time I was left very underwhelmed. I only gave three stars because of my Rockville experiences, otherwise I would only give two. Since the boro, is near my place, I stopped in on my way home from work to pick up my fave blackened fish bowl. What I received was what looked like fish sticks in a bowl. Not good and not blackened. Since it was raining and traffic was terrible, I couldn't go back to return it. So, after trying very little, I had to throw it away. As you can see in the photo, the fish sticks were seasoned but dry looking and definitely not blackened. I've never experienced this at Fish Taco. I think I need to stick with the Rockville location to have a consistent quality experience. read more

We are new to town and wanted to treat my VA family to some carry out but we needed them to tell us where to go as we have only been here a couple weeks. They sent us their order and the location for Fish Taco and it turned out to be the perfect carry out taco dinner. We all had some version of fish tacos (I did the blackened which was very good), the ceviche was outstanding as was the flan. read more
Delicious! Wonderful service with very nice staff. Very nice decor and vibe. The shrimp tacos were so good. So much flavor. My friend really enjoyed the shrimp bowl. Bf enjoyed the fish tacos as well. The ceviche was good, very limey. If you're dining in, there is a garage around the corner and they will validate parking if you give them your ticket before leaving. I think one or two tables outside, and indoor seating was distanced. read more

I swear by their fish tacos!!! They are just absolutely DELICIOUS!! Used to come here so often for lunch since it was a short walk from my work. The fish is well seasoned, super well crafted taco. Their quesadilla is also bombed, and not much needed to say about their bowl - everything you love about the taco in a bowl!! read more

Got an assortment of tacos. All of them were super tasty! Also go the chicken quesadilla and loved it! The street corn was delicious. Forgot to take a picture of the soup we got. The was super salty, that we had to toss it out unfortunately. Other than that, would recommend and go back! read more
I like this place. It was clean and the staff was friendly. The food was good and the veggies were fresh. The guacamole and chips were made fresh and oh so tasty. Fish Taco is so good! Dined outside with a friend. Plenty of outside dining and it wasn't crowded although it was on a weekend (in Nov). Love their blackened fish taco which has nice spicy kick to it and their chips and guacamole are yummy. Their food tastes "fresh." Also had their frozen margarita and it was solid. Two thumbs up. The staff is very friendly and wore masks and gloves at all times whether taking your order and bringing out your food. The only downside is the parking. Not a lot of street parking or a free lot. They do validate parking in the garage I believe for up to 2 hours. Other than that area overall is nice, especially to just get a bite to eat and chill. Fish Taco's food never disappoints! read more
Fish Taco is great! The food was delicious, the store was cute, warm, and inviting, with outdoor seating when this pandemic is over, and the service was excellent. I loved my Cobia Tacos, and the side of Frijoles Negros was a yummy, delicious treat too. I also really liked the guy working there. I suspect he was an owner. He was attractive, funny, smart, playful; he gave excellent customer service. We have been doing a lot of taco trucks recently because of the pandemic. I am uncomfortable going inside even with masks. I had become used to substandard ingredients like cilantro that doesn't taste like anything, and haphazard construction. That was better, and a real treat. These tacos were delicious, made with love and care. If you love fish tocos like I do, you are going to love Fish Taco. read more
A solid lunch place at the Boro. During the weekdays, this is a popular spot for employees on a lunch break. When we came, the dining room and patio was pretty full. I ordered the signature fish platter, which comes with 2 beer battered tacos served with either rice and beans or a salad. The 2 tacos were served in flour tortillas, but they do have corn, if preferred. The fish was fried crispy and juicy. The slaw had a nice acidic and citrus crunch. It doesn't come with salsa so you'd have to ask for it. I was surprised the rojo salsa had some real heat to it, which added another depth of flavor to the entree. My friends and I got Fish Tacos to go and they were delicious! I ordered the Blackened Fish Tacos with a side of beans and rice. The pieces of fish were surprisingly larger than I expected (but for the price, they should be!), the toppings balanced very well together, and then smokey side sauce pulled all the flavors together (loved the sauce)! The rice & beans, although very simple, is always delicious. The rice and beans were cooked perfectly and was just satisfying. My friends got the Steak Tacos and a bunch of other street tacos. They also enjoyed their orders. Only down side is the price. I personally don't think the tacos are worth the expensive price, but they are definitely delicious and I'm glad we tried them! If I'm ever really really craving good tacos, I'll take a stop by again. read more

We are currently using Mahi Mahi for all of our fish. Mahi is a subtropical white fish that have large, meaty flakes with a mild flavor. We also have Salmon and Shrimp as other seafood options.
