After our first experience at Ometeo being negative due to service issues a year ago, we tried again and were very pleased with service and food quality. The staff was very attentive and each dish (enchiladas, guacamole and even the. French toast) was wonderfully prepared and tasted great. I would've given the restaurant 5 stars, but it was hard to hear the other person at a two person table as the tables were deep and lots of folks around. Ambiance was lovely.
Ometeo is located in Capital One, Virginia. The entire block is basically Capital One buildings. Nonetheless, the food was decent. Their guacamole was good, their green salsa was good and their chips were good. I had the pork belly tacos and the tacos were nicely constructed and the ingredients paired well. I don't know if I would come here if I wasn't in the area already but it's worth a try if you are. Free parking for 2 hours as well in the open parking lot down the street from it.
My family and I came here for Mother's Day lunch and we didn't have the best experience with our service. The restaurant plays really loud music so it's hard to hear ourselves talk and makes it hard for our waiter to hear. Our waiter was not the friendliest and didn't smile at all. We didn't get refills on our drinks or water unless we flagged down our waiter. Our appetizers were also forgotten. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside but I don't think we would come back here due to the service we received and the food was just okay. You can find better service and food at Rangos tex mex which is just across the street.
I was so excited to try this place because I heard good things and the ambiance is fun and clean. However, I didn't love the fish tacos or shrimp chimichanga. Both were oily, resulting in much belching. The regular margarita was watered down sugar water with no alcohol flavor. I probably wouldn't go again even though I'm in that area for other things pretty frequently.
We decided to go here for restaurant week since it's been on my list for a minute. Pretty solid menu with massive portions all things considered. I opted for just a water but landed on the chicken tortilla soup, enchinalas, and some vanilla ice cream. The atmosphere there is pretty cool and they have a sick private event space upstairs. Speaking of upstairs, that's where the bathrooms are too. Single stalls for the dudes, sick. They goofed our ice cream (pina colada instead of vanilla bean) but quickly made it right. Great spot and I look forward to going here when it isn't restaurant week.

Food: taste is good but I usually feel indigestion later. - tacos: great! - ceviche: was a bit disappointing. I normally like the taste - meat platter: huge and it is good! 3. Dessert: not good. The cakes are dry and tastes like they had it in the fridge for long 4. Drinks: mixed drinks are great! 5. Service: very accommodating and polite. 6. Ambience is welcoming, warm and can host both small and big parties, including business meetings. 7. Don't order takeout here! It travels poorly and doesn't taste good. Just need to eat it fresh. All in all, a great place.
I've been here to eat and for events. The food is Americanized Latin food at best. Flavor is bland. I think my gripe is that during events, I haven't even finished eating or drinking and my food is quickly taken away. Even requesting that I am still working on my food or drink, it's generally disregarded and taken away. It causes the organizer or me to have to order more food and drink. I don't like the game of buying more food and drink just to make more money because I think it is awfully wasteful to just throw away half eaten food and expensive drinks that I would totally eat but am just busy socializing. I end up feeling like I have to hold the items in my hand or eat as fast as I can or else it will be taken away.
Beautiful restaurant, great for big groups and easily shareable menu! We were a group of 7. Service was attentive and helpful. Fried Cauliflower- yum! Flautas-tasty Pork belly taco-were good Matamoros taco- was ok, was kinda bland Fajitas- very generous portions Food quality was solid. I'd prefer a little more "heat" but overall food quality was good. We would definitely return.
Came here with a friend for dinner. We sat outside which was really pleasant! Perfect music level. Nice breeze. Good service. We started with a margarita which was pretty weak. Then we got the queso with chorizo. It was good. Chips, and most things, needed more salt. Chips came with a green salsa that I loved. I got the pascal tacos and loved them! Three come to an order. I also got the beans charros which had a kick. Loved them and serving is big so I made nachos with them the next day.

Came to Ometeo before a show. Did make reservations and was glad I did as it was very busy when we came in- though the restaurant is quite large with a 21+ lounge upstairs, and a large bar area. Bathrooms are upstairs; they were clean and well appointed. Service was great, everything came out paced well to get us to show on time. Food: Delicious! From the complimentary chips and two types of salsa (green and red), to the dessert (chocolate coconut cake), we enjoyed our meal. We had guacamole in addition to the salsa. He had steak tacos, I had fish tacos, and we also had the kids buid your own steak tacos meal. Everything was so delicious and impressive. I thought the cake was moist and great. read more

Went here for a family dinner. Goid authentic Mexican food. Fajitas with shrimp were good. Sides were large. Guac was good. My sister and husband shared the giant meat lovers fajitas with short rib, brisket and more for around 85 dollars. leftovers gallore. Great strawberry margaritas. read more

My first time trying fried ice cream and it was so delicious! The waitress sat us where we felt it was warmest and gave us napkins right away to provide a little worth for our legs. The temp dropped and we were chilly! The server was great, patiently helpful, and quick. I'd love to return to try their fajitas! We only had dessert. The interior design is very cute. This was really great! Food was excellent as were the drinks. We really enjoyed the outdoor seating in the outdoor bar area. It looked like there was also a cool lounge area upstairs that we would definitely check out another time. Waiter was good as well. All in all a great experience. read more
Ometeo has a fun, lively vibe that makes it a great after-work hangout. We came by on a Tuesday evening, and the place was packed the entire time, especially around happy hour. It's conveniently located right off the McLean Metro stop, which made getting there super easy--and with a Capital One building right next door, it's no surprise the after-work crowd rolls in hard. The service was a bit slow, but honestly, given how busy it was, it was understandable. They start you off with free chips and salsa, which is always a win. You get two types: a creamy verde and a classic red salsa--both were tasty and a great way to kick things off. We shared a few starters, including the ceviche, which had nice flavor but leaned more heavily on avocado than fish. We also tried the basic salad with cactus and mixed greens. For the main, we had the chicken mole. The mole was a little on the sweet side for my taste--I was hoping for a touch more spice and depth. Also, it was served with rice instead of tortillas, and while that's a personal preference, I think tortillas would've been a better pairing. read more

We went here for Cinco de Mayo! I think the vibes and decor were awesome and genuinely the place was packed! Which is great!! The mariachi band was fantastic and I love that they came up and sang at our table. But unfortunately this is kinda where the "great" part ends... They have happy hour all day, but the pricing is still absurd. They sell three tacos for $22+ and they are barely filled with anything besides a meat, cilantro, and onion. Please, I beg, go somewhere else for tacos. The best entree item we had was a hotdog. This is a Mexican restaurant. The queso was good and we enjoyed the free chips. Also the agua Fresca cocktail was fantastic. The service was also fine. If you're looking for a good Mexican restaurant, I unfortunately say go somewhere else. read more

I had such a great experience at Ometeo in Tysons. I sat dined in the Cadillac Lounge upstairs which has the cutest vibe. The DJ added so much energy to the space without being overwhelming. I ordered the guava and hibiscus margarita with mezcal and it was incredibly refreshing. I also had the fried cauliflower which was really good, and the Matamoros tacos which were absolutely amazing!!! So flavorful and well seasoned. read more
The Res con Todo is unbelievably good. I was just there two days ago and I can't wait to go back. Service very good. Prices fair Loud boisterous environment but not overly loud. Outside environment is young hipster Guess I will stay inside with the old people read more

I visited with my boyfriend's family. Overall the food was really good, especially the brisket fajitas. The portion size was generous and the staff seemed kind as well. The restaurant is spacious, clean and well decorated. Would definitely visit again read more
Pretty price for subpar food and drinks ($27 fajitas, $7 side of rice and beans, you can easily spend $100 on a couple of entrees and drinks). The restaurant is spacious - good for large parties with a vibrant ambiance and some outdoor space. Glad to see complimentary chips and salsa! The warm fried chips are delicious and the best part of our meal! The salsa has a very spicy kick particularly the green Salsa Verde, and prefer the more mild Brown salsa. The $14 for Guacamole is a bit pricey and can be a hit/miss. The fresh crispy chips are usually served warm and the guac had a spicy kick with some chili powder sprinkled on top and surprisingly stayed fresh the next day, last time the guac was a bit soggy. You get also get a side side of it. The Veggie Fajitas have gone downhill since the restaurant opened. It used to come with grilled mushrooms, sweet potato, pineapple and sadly hasn't been the same experience since and the hearty veggies seem to have disappeared! It's now just grilled corn with some peppers and onions. The chunky Nopales cactus veggie was too big to stuff into the tortillas. Mushrooms and peppers would pare better.The crispy manchego cheese is the best part served with a mix of warm flour/corn tortillas made daily in-house along with rice and beans. On the Brunch menu - Huevos Rancheros was okay. It was the standard crispy round tacos shells with a sunny side eggs and black beans soaking in spicy mole sauce and mild green verde sauce. The sourdough Pancakes are ginormous and fluffy. While the pancakes were topped with neatly adorned candied pecans and apple preserve, I wish there was more compote as the pancakes were a bit bland and dry. The Breakfast Burrito are HUGE and was absolutely stuffed, and regretfully conquered it! It's like a a foot long and a Chipotle burrito feels like a baby in comparison! The Burrito came with scrambled eggs, potatoes, onions (I swapped chorizo for the onions), it was quite dense and heavy. The Kids menu is surprisingly really good, the Cheese Quesadilla was a crispy and delicious, and a generous size! The cocktail are pre-made in large batches on draught. my favorites are the Guava & Hibiscus Margarita, and the Mezcal Mule. Both the Maverick cocktail with vanilla vodka, guava-hibiscus cordial, lime, served with sparkling wine & passion fruit caviar and Above the Clouds Negroni cocktail with strawberry-infused mezcal, vermouth, aperitivo mazzura, arroz were watered down. I wish the drinks were made to order. If you're going to a show and craving Mexican food or work at Capital One, Ometeo might be worth checking out. Given the plethora of Mexican restaurants in Tyson's Corner, there are lots of better and more affordable options (hint hint: El Bebe at the Boro). read more

I recently had dinner at Ometeo, and it was such a great experience. I ordered the esquites and the chicken fajitas, and both dishes were delicious. The esquites were super flavorful--creamy, well-seasoned, and the perfect starter. The chicken fajitas came out sizzling, juicy, and packed with fresh peppers and onions. Everything tasted really fresh, and the portion sizes were generous. The atmosphere was fun and upbeat, and the staff was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. read more
This is a fun Tex-Mex restaurant! The music is good and the space is nice, there is a beautiful room upstairs that looks like it can be used for parties. The food was delicious, especially the green salsa which had a nice lime flavor. I tried the guacamole and beef fajitas which came with a side of rice and beans, it was a lot of food and enough for 2 people to share. Well fried and oily chips with two types of sauces get put in front of you when you get seated. Beautifully decorated interior. Good food but it is on the pricier side of things. I got the Texas short rib tacos and the meat is very tender and fall apart well although I felt that it was a bit too oily. For $22, though, it's probably not the most worth it dish. The steak fajitas also tasted good but the meat was a bit tougher. They had plenty of steak meat and cheese and rice and beans on the side. It also came with 3 corn tortillas and 3 flour tortillas. For $37 though, it's not as worth. Service was good and quick and we were full but I am not sure if this is the most bang for your buck. Perhaps a once-in-a-while treat. read more

Literally finishing my food. But this place was such a let down after it was highly recommended by a family member. Chips and salsa 2/10...salsa itself 0/10, the green sauce 5/10! Margarita average 4/10. Ordered the flauntas which looked burnt and the chicken was definitely overcooked...2/10. Ribeye tacos 5/10 needs sauce. Pork belly tacos 6/10 needs sauce. Environment is cute...food average...parking stupid.definitely not worth coming back. Shoutout the waiter for being kind. Oh let's also add they didn't have my reservation when it's 3pm on a Friday and it's empty. read more
