Fisher Air installed an A/C unit at a neighbor's home and I noticed the Fisher Air truck in front of their residence. The Fisher Air gentleman greeted me with a hello and a smile, while I was at my garage, and I thought to myself that he seemed friendly, which is sadly not typical in California. I thought I might need his AC help sometime since I could tell that ours was on its last leg. Sure enough, shortly thereafter, our AC unit went out during a heatwave week. We called Fisher Air for a diagnostic reading and they came out within two days. The option was that he could fix it, but it would be costly or I could purchase a new unit, which given how old our unit was and having been repaired multiple times in the past, I thought it was time to replace it. We also replaced the furnace as well, since it had given us problems on and off over the years, and I didn't want to be without heat in the winter, as we have been at times. While it took over a week to get our new units, due to other people in line before us and ordering the units, they were kind enough to lend us their portable AC unit, which was most helpful to cool the house, combined with multiple fans we used. A bit of background ... we had our ducts cleaned back in 2014 or so and then in 2017 Servpro came out to remove all old ducting and then another AC company replaced the ducting. Reason being is that a new bout of allergies were really causing me a great deal of suffering. I would wake up daily to a stuffy nose and feeling as though I was fatigued and poisoned. I was convinced it was something in the air in the house. Despite the aforementioned work, nothing changed with my allergies, no matter what I did to help them. I was under an allergist's and ENT's care, and did whatever I could to help manage or remove whatever was causing my suffering, all to no avail. I was coming to the conclusion of having sinus surgery. Something I absolutely wanted to avoid if I could. The blessing in all of this is that the replacement of the furnace and the type of air filter that was replaced, has made ALL of the difference in the world, meaning that I can breathe throughout the night, which means a better night's rest. I don't wake up stuffy. I don't need sinus meds. And I do not plan to have the sinus surgery - at least not for now or hopefully in the near future. I have been extremely satisfied with their customer service, their attitude, their honesty, their service, and their work ethic. They are one of the best companies I've had the pleasure to do business with and highly recommend their services to anyone who is in need of AC or furnace repairs, maintenance or replacement. Their followup is exceptional. They work with you on your home system's needs and pricing. The warranty is phenomenal. They stand behind their work and their family name, as they are a family-owned and run business. The HERS testing technician was most complimentary of Fisher Air as a company in that they are one of the few companies that do things right and the required standards are met and matched. read more

Not great. The technician, Kevin, showed up and asked about the issue. I explained that both the AC/furnace and the condenser were turning on and then shutting off, and I also mentioned that my main concern was the zoning board, since that could be causing the problem. He told me he would also test the heater as part of the visit. He started with the outside condenser and mentioned a "potential issue" that might require a part costing around $1,000, just for the first step of troubleshooting, while also admitting it might not even fix the problem. After that, I asked him about the heater since he had already said he would be checking it. At no point was I told that I had to choose between diagnosing the AC/furnace or the condenser, or that they were considered separate diagnostics with separate fees. When he checked the heater and it wouldn't turn on, he said he would ask his supervisor if he could diagnose the furnace/AC unit without extra charges, which didn't make sense because he had already told me he'd be testing the heater as part of the visit. He came back saying his supervisor would only allow it for an additional $350, on top of the $148 I had already paid, absolutely ridiculous and misleading, especially after I clearly mentioned my concern about the zoning board from the beginning. At that point, the whole situation felt shady, like they were stacking fees and changing the terms without giving clear options or upfront information. I declined any further service. I wouldn't recommend this company. read more

*UPDATE 4.18.24 Lowering my review to 1 star. The technician finally made it out on Monday 4/15. He performed the maintenance, whatever it was supposed to be, but tried to upsell me a new air filter for $80. I declined and had him show me how to replace it myself instead. No follow-up from receptionist Pam, no "prizes from the office" as she mentioned during the last rescheduling call. The least they could have done is throw in the air filter for free. read more

HVAC installed by FisherAir in 2006. Discovered my ~20 year old air conditioner was leaking water. Called FisherAir. Made an appointment. Tim L. was my technician. Tim quickly diagnosed the drain line was clogged. So, as not to have this problem again, Tim recommended installing a Condensate Clean Out Device with Safety Shut Off. I have maintained a Residential Maintenance Service Agreement with FisherAir since 2006 (Jason L was my technician for many years). FisherAir comes out twice a year - in the late spring to perform preventative maintenance on the air conditioner; in late fall to perform preventative maintenance on the furnace. Over the years, the compressor has had a couple of components replaced. The preventative maintenance is a testament to the excellent performance of my HVAC. I ran into a challenge with some warranty work that was needed on a coil, reached out to two owners of this company for help, multiple times, and never heard back from either of them. From dispatch to install, these folks are rock stars, they tell you a day and time then they actually hold true to their word. Hard to find a more customer service focused company. Update - a full replacement. Ok, after years of Fisher keeping our junky builder AC system functioning, we finally pulled the plug on reworking with an entirely new system. We got quotes but decided that the one from Fisher was the best. We had the whole system pulled out and replaced - the furnace was getting pretty long in the tooth and the AC had always been noisy and not terribly energy efficient. The install was great - we got the old system replaced in the two days promised and once installed everything works great. The new installation is quieter than the old one and uses much less electricity. Cesar and Abraham were quite efficient in their work and left everything neat and functional, (except I had tp plug the UV light back in) We are extremely happy with the work they have done for us in the past and plan to stay a Fisher customer in the future. read more

We had tune-ups on both of our air conditioning units and when summer hit and we tried to use the upstairs unit, it would not even turn on. A new tech was sent out only to discover that the first tech had put a component in backwards. The tech recommended replacing the motor starter, even when the unit was now functioning properly. The motor starter was under warranty, but now they wanted to charge $225 for a 3-minute task. Then, when we asked about the warranty, the tech was told by the office not to replace the motor starter. Talk about inconsistency!! Just be careful what you get with this company! They are so busy that they have inexperienced technicians who don't know what they are doing. read more

I moved into my new home which Fisher AC put in a high efficiency dual zone system. The system was 3 years old and still under warranty from the manufacturer. The prior owner who purchased from them informed me the system was under warranty for 6-7 years with yearly maintenance included. The AC goes out in the summer during a heat wave. They charge me over $300 to inspect the AC system to make a diagnosis. It turns out there is a faulty part which is covered by the manufacturer and I'm told it will be in warehouse within 7 days. It also turns out that they know that this Maytag AC has alot of repair issues yet they still recommend it to their new customers. Nearly 1 month passes and the part finally arrives, only after I've called multiple times to harass them about the timing of the repair. The repair is completed after this protracted time and they charge me for labor at a rate of over $1,300. When I inquire about the yearly maintenance I don't get any answer other than they can replace the filter for around $100. So an AC unit they recommended, installed and applied a service agreement towards goes bad within 3 years. Still under factory warranty but takes over 1 month to repair after being told the part will be ready within 7 days and then they charge me $300+ for the diagnosis, $1,300+ for the repair, $100+ for a filter replacement = ~$1,700 to repair a unit they recommended and was still under contract. I would not recommend them to anyone I know and when it comes time to replace this AC unit I will not be using them. I wanted to give them 2 stars bc they were accessible on phone and they did provide a temporary portable AC, but I would not recommend them given all the cost and lack of covering products they endorse so I'm only going with 1 star. read more

We had a great experience with Fisher! Our blower fan stopped working last weekend. Called up fisher and they were able to come out a couple of days later. Jason showed up and was very nice and informative. He advised that our system is old and we should look into replacing it in the near future. Which is something we were WELL aware of. We can't afford a new system at this time. So, he tested the started, which was working. It turns out the motor died. Tim came out the following day with a new motor and replaced it. Everything is now working just fine! Through out the whole process the CSR Traci kept me informed of when the technician would arrive, and what our status was. Our Air Compressor went out on a Saturday. We called Fisher Air and within 5 minutes the owner of the Company Alen Fisher called us back. He personally came out to our home, identified the problem and with his years of experience welded it himself on the spot to make sure we had air through the weekend until a new part could be ordered. In fact the welding job he did was so good a new fan hasn't needed to be ordered. He was courteous, prompt and honest and didn't rake us over the coals for a Saturday call out. We will use Fisher Heating and Air for any future problems we have with out air and heating unit. read more

I used Fisher Air today and couldn't be happier. My wife called them this morning and they were able to send a repairman out the same day. They called when the repairman was close to confirm and Chip, the repairman, showed up on time as promised. I had a guy from another service not show up at all 2 days prior. Chip was honest, nice, professional and knew what he was doing. He got the job done right, quickly and for a fair price, so I couldn't ask for more. I was really impressed by the way he was careful with my home. I have had other repair people who were not really careful with mine home, but Chip really seemed to take the time to do things right and not just throw things together to finish the job and go. read more

I can't recall my tech's name, otherwise I'd give him a shout-out here. I'd just had a bad experience with a national subcontractor for a.c./heating service, so I wanted to try a local company. So I remembered seeing the Fisher Air trucks in the neighborhood, and gave them a call for some maintenance work. Summer temps kicking up, and my a.c. unit was getting noisy. Only downside was the long wait - they're pretty busy, so I had to book a week and a half out. Probably better when there isn't a massive heat wave! Aside from that: They were able to get me in for the first appointment that day (so I didn't have to take a full day off work). Tech showed up on time, was friendly and polite, explained in detail EVERYTHING. Explained exactly what this part did, what was very obviously wrong, how I could see with my own eyes that this capacitor was about ready to pop, and gave me several options for minor repairs. Done quickly, cleanly, in a friendly way that was professional. Showed me some ways I could save some money on the service, too. So I'm quite happy with Fisher Air and my AC is running well. Contacted Fisher A/C reference a residential a/c unit gone bad. Initial serviceman (Tim) who came out on 8/15/12 was clean, prompt, professional and to the point. Kudos to him for the initial estimate of repair of the compressor/dryer and run capacitor. Was charged $89 service fee, which I felt was reasonable and in line with other contractors. Since we discussed the possible need for a new condenser unit, Tim said another person would have to come out on 8/22 and give me an estimate for a new unit. A 2 hour time span for the new estimate was given. On the 22nd, the service person (manager?) came about 1/2 hour late, with no apology, phone call, or reason for his tardiness. He was clean and professional looking in attire and when I advised him that he was late for the estimate and my wife had to leave after waiting for about 2 1/2 hours, he was very perturbed and stated: "well, do you have authority to sign paperwork so we can get you a new compressor...because I don't want to hear that you will have to discuss it with your wife before signing....I only get paid when you sign." With that beside manner, I told him to get out of the house and don't bother coming or calling back. I have tried to make this post as accurate as possible, given how pissed I was at the second guy who came to my house. Let me emphasize that I wasn't mad because this guy was late; it's just that he was so unprofessional in his verbalization of the circumstances of the situation. Like I said before, Tim was great...on time, had a professional attitude and demeanor, knew what the heck he was talking about and was a pleasure to deal with. A credit to Fisher Heating and AC. The second gentleman, you can have him. This is just my opinion of the company....if you had a better experience with them, by all means, have your way with them. As with people in other walks of life, there is always someone who is having a bad day. BUT, since there are numerous other good A/C contractors around (check Angie's List, FYI), why put up with nonsense? Know what I mean? JMHO. read more

I had a new ac/heat-pump installed about 5 years ago from Fisher. At the time they were in the middle as far as pricing. I had to wait 2 weeks for my heat pump because it was a special order item. Overall, it took about 3 days to install the unit because of how my home was built and the positioning of everything. The owner, Alan even came out to see how the job was going. I've had regular maintenance from them ever since, even my neighbor had his ac done with them. Everyone have been pleasant to deal with. read more

The response from my original review which was based off my interactions with the company - "When you called our comfort adviser had already left the office. You gave no opportunity to speak to you regarding the process or facts in a timely manner before making this a public form. If you would like to know more, please contact us. Well then maybe you need to update your business hours, because your yelp page said you are open until 5 and the lady who took my call assured me i would be called back. Had I called to say i wanted to install a new system I bet he would have called back. AGAIN - This is MY opinion. YELP- DO NOT DELETE This review is based off of MY experience with Fisher Air. I contacted Fisher Air to in an effort to obtain information about a pending install. I contacted them prior the close of business on a Friday and was told I would get a call back by the end of the day. I waited until after 7pm before I placed my second call, this time I contacted the sales rep. I got his voice mail and left a message asking to be called ASAP. The weekend went by before I was called back. I was disappointed in their lack of follow up to say the least. Come Monday they the sales man decides to give me a call. At that time he attempted to answer my questions regarding the price quote that was issued for the job. I waisted about 15 minutes listening to him try and justify the outrageous quote that was provided. I explained my conners with the price and made it clear that I felt it was way over priced. At that time I felt the sales man grew annoyed with me based off the change in the tone of his voice. Just before we wrapped up the call he asked if I left a Yelp review, i replied Yes, he then proceeded to ask me to remove it. I advised him i would not remove it because that my PERSONAL opinion of the company that I had while dealing with them . He had not read the review, yet he felt the need to ask me to take it down. It's my personal opinion this company has poor customer service, does not do whats best for their customers and simply looks to make the biggest sales. Wonderful service today. Had our AC serviced by another company yesterday. BIG MISTAKE! AC did not work today as the temperature outside is close to 95. Tomorrow should be over 100! The other company does not have weekend service, even though they were just here. However, thanks to CHIP at Fisher AC, our compressor is now working and the house is cool.
