My Carrier furnace went out. It was only a few years old and this being my first house I didn't know what to do. So I called the closest HVAC company to come check out my furnace and they quoted me 2,000$ to fix a broken circuit board. I was shocked. This furnace is pretty new and this shouldn't be happening. So, I called another HVAC place and they quoted me 3,500$ to mix a broken motor and told me that the circuit board was fine. I was in disbelief. Who was right? I figured I needed a 3rd company to come out and see who was right. I place a call to Albert Air and I am very thankful I did. John arrived and went found the issue to be a transducer. He replaced it on the spot and even gave me helpful tips on my furnace. The part was under warranty still, so I only had to pay for the 120$ for the service call. This is an update: We finaly hired a different company to look at it. Immediately they found Puron leaks within the head unit. They said it's very common due to high pressure from Puron. They replaced the unit and it's been problems free since. So Albert air had spent too many trips to my house and was unable to find a common problem? did they try to avoid warranty work at the beginning, or just not good with newer systems. read more

We are so happy with our new Carrier system installed by Albert Air. Nick, their owner, provided a quote for us a few months ago and while they aren't the cheapest, we felt we could trust Nick and team which is why we moved forward this week. Nick kicked off and closed each day with his team. Gilbert and Lenny were fantastic; my wife even asked if they worked in the house because they left everything so clean. There were also some small touches that the team did which go a long way--an example, they lifted and secured the replacement ducts to the rafters to make our attic more usable for storage and far easier to walk around in. My Carrier heater broke right when it started getting cold and we started getting a lot of rain. I contacted a well-known vendor who came out and wanted to charge me $800 to fix the transducer. They said they had the replacement part in stock. I wanted to think it over for a day since $800 is a lot of money but figured I might as well do it. By the next day, the part was no longer in stock and they said they'd order it for me. Fast forward to 1.5 months later(!!), the part still wasn't available. Desperate I went to the Carrier website to find a contracted vendor and found Albert Air. I called them on a Friday and made an appointment for Monday with an agreement on a $110 diagnostic fee. The technician arrived promptly. He not only had the replacement part on his truck, but he replaced it during the diagnostic appointment! And the price? $110!!! The part itself was under the manufacturer warranty, but I was still expecting an additional labor cost. I'm still shocked that Albert Air was able to fix my heater within 2 days of calling them for a fraction of what the other company was charging. Highly recommend! read more

The owner, Nick, came out to do the inspection, listened to our concerns, and requirements, and gave us an estimate the very next day. Nick said the job would take two days. It took two days. He came every day to review their work. His team was prompt both mornings, did excellent work, cleaned up, and kept us informed the whole time. They finished the job when they said they would, and even after the HERS technician noticed a minor issue, they came out that day to rectify it. Even the city inspector said they did a nice job. When my AC went out on me, Albert AC was coincidentally at my building doing an install for my neighbor. With no direction or information, I asked the Albert AC could help take a look at my AC when they were done. Instead of blowing me off, or telling me I was busy, the technicians generously agreed. All my questions were answered, their work was on display for me to see (which looked great), and they even gave me a verbal estimate right then and there. Unfortunately for me, these guys are extremely busy, and I had to go with a contractor who could fit me in earlier. Had things worked out different I would have definitely gone with them. My neighbor recommends them, I recommend them. While I may not have an AC physically installed, my 5 star rating is based on knowledge, price, communication, and I just like the guys as you don't see generosity like theirs very often these days. read more

We recently had 3 rooms in our home cooled (and heated) by a ductless unit manufactured by Carrier. We couldn't be more pleased with our unit! After 2 months of use and record-setting heat, our electricity usage has actually declined compared to one year ago. And we are much more comfortable tailoring the level of coolness in each room to individual preferences and sun exposure. Now we use our central AC as a back-up system and set the temperature on that unit much higher. Nick at Albert Air was so helpful, professional and friendly. Once we decided it was time to get AC (thank you climate change), I read many reviews and called several contractors to get quotes. From the start, I appreciated Jeff's approach to assessing options for where to place the condenser (on our roof but largely out of sight), where to install the return given the noise factor and on adding new registers. We were replacing an older gas heating system and decided we wanted to install a heat exchange because we are solar and trying to go all electric. Jeff also helped me understand the various options for efficient condensers and blowers as well as thermostats. The installation process went very smoothly. Jeff's crew knew exactly what they were doing. They added several new registers, a new (regulation) access door in the hallway all very cleanly. They were also very friendly guys. Overall I had a great experience with Albert Air. My one caution is that I have been a bit disappointed with the Inifinity WiFi thermostat. I am admittedly new to AC, but the performance doesn't make much sense. I have set the heat/cool to 63/76. I often find it cooling down to 72 and it doesn't seem to matter whether it is cooler or hotter outside. People have suggested i get a Nest, but that seems like a waste given we already have a 'smart' thermostat. I have tried getting in touch with Carrier but no one has gotten back to me. Maybe others have had more luck with the Infinity or I am doing something wrong. read more

I am very meticulous in my research and in hiring someone to work on my home. Over 3 weeks I had received 10 different quotes on getting our 35 year old central air system replaced. After 18 years with our old system, my wife and I decided it was time to replace our old HVAC system. We got three quotes and interviewed three companies before choosing Albert Air. So my AC has lost Freon twice in the past two years, my original installers came out and used a Freon detector and said the evaporation coil is leaking and needs to be replaced. They gave me and outrageous flat fee quote of over $3000 for the work, guess they do not want the job. I called a couple contractors and either did not get a call back or they were priced super high too. Nick of Albert Air was the first to give me a real good ballpark quote that was nearly 50% lower over the phone after I sent some photos and explained what happened. He came over a couple days later to give me a real quote and see the system, take some measurements and it was the same price, no bait and switch. I gave him a deposit and we scheduled the work for a about a week later, I also received an email reminder for the service work and a photo and name of the tech who would do the work. John, the tech, showed up on time and was a really nice guy, very professional, the work was clean and installation was executed very well, and I picky about details. He was here for a few hours to replace the coil and start up the system. Great communication and answered a lot of question and was not bothered by me asking. High marks for Nick, John, and Albert Air. They will definitely get my future work! Oh and the final price was just what Nick's ballpark quote was on the phone. Thanks Nick and John! read more

I thought long and hard about this review, and even re-wrote it a few times. Still, I cannot, in all good conscience, give Albert Air more than one star. Here's why: I have a leaking condensate drain pan. Ideally, I want to, simply, replace the drain pan. It is possible that the drain pan is connected to the evaporator, and they come as a single unit. In that case, I can accept replacing both. I am NOT going to replace the entire system, condenser included. That is not in the budget, and Albert Air knew this going in. The technician they sent was not terribly bright. As an example, he spelled "because," on the invoice, "becous," and left an "m" out of the word "recommend." When he determined that the drain pan could not be replaced by itself (a questionable determination, given their later actions), I requested a quote for replacing the evaporator. He called "the boss" and I heard him mention that I had stated that replacing the entire system was not in the budget. When "the boss" called me back, he gave me a quote for a complete system replacement. Albert Air simply did not listen to the customer. This is bad business. Your job is to meet the needs of your customers, not try to "upsell" them to what you want to make on the job. Attempting to sell me an entire system (cost almost $5,500) when all I need and want is an evaporator that can be replaced in the neighborhood of $500 is just plain robbery... particularly when I have already made it clear that I am not spending $5,000+ on this. This being the case, I cannot give Albert Air more than one star. read more

Our 30 + yr old furnace and AC system needed replacement last Summer. We had 7 ( yes, SEVEN!) AC companies come out for estimates and were so confused with their recommendations! Half said we should move the units up in the attic for efficiency while others insist on leaving everything downstairs where things were. There was something about each proposal or representative that we were not comfortable with, until Nick Albert came.... Our 2 story home used to be significantly hotter upstairs in the Summer with the AC on. We even had to have fans blowing in our bedrooms during the night. We took Nick's great advise to move everything up in the attic. They also replaced our air ducts and vents; added returns and even cut out a new attic access in the hallway ( the original one is in our bedroom closet )...It was a big 4 day project but the 2 men crew was very well trained and professional; you can tell they have been doing this for a long time.... Albert Air exceeded my expectations on every level of the project. I had Albert Air do an entire HVAC upgrade, including a full attic duct work replacement and the addition of three ceiling air registers. Nick Albert came out and began the project by making an assessment of my existing system. The three previous contractors simply looked at our old system and quoted a new system based on the technical specs of our existing compressor. Upon Nick's inspection, we found that the duct work was undersized for the compressor and the compressor was oversized for the layout and square footage of our home. Once Nick designed the proper system, he and his team showed up on time, were extremely clean, courteous and quiet. They spent a total of three days at our home. Each morning they showed up within the window of time they scheduled. They also laid down tarps to ensure our carpeting remained clean. At the end of each day, they cleaned up and left our home as they found it. Their installers are "company employees" who clearly model the values and customer respect attitude of their family-owned business. I received a total of three quotes. I've used Albert Air in the past and they were great, but not this time. I called a week ago to get service on my unit, (needed freon), and they didn't have an opening for a week. Ok, no biggie I can wait. Well my appt was supposed to be from 8-12, however, the night before I get a voicemail message stating that they would be there between 12-4. I told the receptionist that wasn't going to work since I had to take a half-day off of work to be here for their original 4 hour window. No apologies, no trying to make it better. Totally uncaring attitude. I guess they have enough business that they don't need mine. Nick & his team couldn't have come at a better time! We had previously installed a ductless ac unit from Daikin through another installer & from the beginning we had problems and eventually after 7 months the owner decided to just give me a full refund, took back his units & patched up my walls. Now, I can't live without AC and so we met with Nick got a quote and now have AC again. For someone who has animals, they are so nice in working with that. For the first day, I stayed in one room with the pups & cat and the next day we moved to the room that was already finished. It was raining on the first day so I was afraid we were going to have to Installation took 2 days, 8-4pm. They keep you informed of what they are doing. Martin and the other tech guy (forgot his name) so sorry - are very nice and clean up when they are done. I tried to make sure they were hydrated by offering water & soda since it's like 110 degrees in my attic haha. For those of you who are unsure about a ductless AC because you aren't sure about whether or not you want something on your wall - don't be afraid, it's the new thing (Europe & Australia have it ) haha and saves so much more money on bills vs central air.
