I read reviews about this joint before trying it. The lobster on the tacos was chewy and flavorless. There was little else on the tacos. I felt certain that they counted the black beans, maybe 13-15 on the flavorless, (no bean sauce) white rice. The two tables were rotten and the stools wobbly. It was not reasonable! I would have liked less bread and more egg and cheese but most people love sandwiches like this. Really tasty, extremely fair prices compared to the rest of the island. Go here for fast, yummy, and affordable food to go. They do have a couple of small places to sit but you're right on the pier and can take your noms to a close-by bench or just nom as you walk. It was so good! We thought about eating at one of the bigger places on the marina, but we were so happy we didn't. They are not just the same fish tacos and sandwiches you can get all over key west. The fish was cooked so well and all of the toppings were delicious. The food was beyond amazing and it was fun to walk around and see all of the boats. I ordered a fish sandwich and sweet potato fries, which was pretty amazing to see on the menu along with yuca fries. They were good, but I want to focus on the sandwich. I was informed that the fish just came off the boat a few hours before I ordered it. It was seasoned just right when it was cooked up on a bun with avocado. The service and food is amazing and priced reasonably too. Our fish sandwiches were a step above the rest with caramelized onions and fresh avocado on top! This place was so bad. Took forever to get food. Food was horrible. It was outside so no indoor seating. A few stools were crammed outside. Only two people working in this shack. Waited forever for overfried "lobster" tacos that basically tasted like old fried grease. Disgusting. read more
