Definitely time to update my review. Wowww it's been awhile since my last visit. We were in the area and I was in the mood for seafood. Took a drive across the Chesapeake bridge and it was worth it. I ordered the broiled seafood platter. It was amazing... came with two sides. I chosed potato chips and green beans with bacon and onions. Everything was delicious but my seafood platter was the BEST!! My husband ordered the scallops which also came with two sides. One being the stewed tomatoes, as well asparagus. My husband said he enjoyed it all. They even gave us some good rolls to go. Service was prompt. Ordered online and was ready as promised. Fisherman's Inn Restaurant has always been a staple when headed over (either way) the Bay Bridge. The renovations are beautiful and the restaurant was clean. The soft shell crab tacos were a huge appetizer and the most delicious way to start the meal. However, when I got my Maryland roll as my dinner, there was a dead bug in my coleslaw upon eating it. The manager was very apologetic, and the waitress was extremely accommodating. They made me a new meal and packed it up to go. Besides this, the meal was great. You can't hate seafood on the Eastern Shore. read more

Large and spacious seafood restaurant overlooking the water that has a vast menu. Eating area is broken down into a main dining room and smaller bar room that also has full service tables (no kids after 2pm). The dining room is homey with a fireplace and a moving model train on a circular track above the tables close to the ceiling. Our server was so accommodating and friendly. Came by often to check on us and tended to nearby tables as attentively. Menu has common seafare (crabs, lobster, fishes) grilled, broiled, fried, chilled. They also have steaks, burgers, sandwiches and pasta (and vegetarian choices). I ordered a special : 2 sautéed softshell crabs with fries and string beans. The crabs were fresh, delicate meat, and had hints of browned butter. The green beans were fresh (not frozen or canned) and cooked perfectly. The beans are normally cooked with bacon but was able to request it without the meat. Fries were crisp and non greasy. My companion had the tidewater rockfish and enjoyed it as well. Portions are generous. Lobby has articles and newspaper clippings on the walls that explain this restaurant's history. read more

If you're looking for seafood and a location that's casual and easy for a large group - this is your spot. But it's equally fine for just a couple. A family-style joint, the seating is plenty with tables and booths large enough to handle an office party or a family reunion. Our party of 5 started with hush puppies with a syrup and honey for dipping and the hot crab dip. Both were exceptional. The rockfish bites which were crispy with a nice spice of wasabi cream. The shrimp scampi - the best I've ever had - had a rich sauce, plump scrimps and amazing, crunchy, garlic bread. The crème brûlée was one of the creamiest I've enjoyed and the pies are ridiculously huge. With a friendly and frequent service, there's really no way to leave this spot unsatisfied. read more

As we entered the restaurant we were greeted by three individuals that were genuine and seated us by the window as requested. I have been coming to this restaurant for over fifty years and we frequent five or six times a year since it is a 90 minute drive each way. The food is always impressive and delivers each time for freshness and quality. We started the meal with Maryland Vegetable Crab only because we had the Cream of Crab here the night before. The Cream of Crab is always impressive and is full of crab. Definitely a must! All three of us found the Maryland Vegetable Crab too salty, probably from the Old Bay seasoning. We had fried shrimp, stuffed shrimp, and seafood alfredo this evening. The fried shrimp were perfect, the size were large and perfectly fried. The seafood alfredo was creamy and full of seafood. The stuffed shrimp were delicious, but the only drawback was that there was a lot of shell that I experienced in almost every bite. This should not happen at a restaurant of this caliber. Overall, our server was extremely friendly and attentive, but I sensed that the restaurant cut servers too early last night or didn't expect a Monday to be so busy. read more

We have been here many times, some good and some not so good. We decided to give it another try knowing that they are open until 9 PM. We were traveling and knew that it was about halfway to our destination. We walked in and at first, we didn't see anybody but they were remodeling. A hostess then told us that we could seat ourselves in the bar area. She did not hand us any menus or anything, and disappeared, so we entered the bar area and sat down. We waited 15 minutes and never saw another employee other than the bartender who disregarded us. We started thinking maybe we were supposed to order at the bar so walked back out to the entrance to ask the hostess for menus and she was nowhere to be found. There were also no servers in sight so we gathered our stuff and started to leave after 30 minutes. As we were about at the door, I saw somebody come out of a side room and asked her what was going on. She said that she had been stocking shelves in the back and did not know there were customers. It was by this time 8:10 PM and they close at nine, but for some reason they weren't expecting customers. We won't be back. ‍ read more

We frequently stop by Kent Narrows for lunch or dinner when traveling between D.C. and the Maryland shore. It is perfectly located after the massive traffic on the bridge. Fisherman's Crab Deck is one of our favorites but it was completely packed this time. A sign suggested trying its sister restaurant next door. We have never tried Fisherman's Inn Restaurant before; so why not? Fisherman's Inn offers a much calmer atmosphere than the Crab Deck but no outdoor seating. The restaurant has charming decor, including a display of vintage china and an adorable model train running on overhead tracks. We were seated in a booth by the window with a lovely view of Betty's garden. Our server, Michael, was very friendly and attentive. We ordered the steamed shellfish pot, which came in a generous portion. The broth and bread were delicious. The sunset salmon was also a substantial serving, and the corn served with the flounder fillet was very fresh. With excellent service, delicious food, and unique decor, this dining experience was outstanding. Fisherman's Inn is definitely worth the stop! read more

Visited Fisherman's Inn with a colleague for my first dinner in Maryland and was not disappointed! Started with a cup of the Oyster Stew and was surprised with the amount of oysters inside! The flavor was amazing and what I had hoped for being in the Chesapeake Bay Area. For an entree I went with the Broiled Seafood plate so I could try as much as I could during one sitting. The crab cakes were so delicious along with the local specialty imperial shrimp. Scallops were good just right and sided with a baked potato. Being a railroad fanatic, I was impressed that there is a model railroad elevated above the dining area that travels around from room to room. Interior is inviting and sure the view is fantastic during the day time. Our waitress was top notch and made our visit enjoyable. She was personable and never let our glasses go empty. Girl friend got the steamed pot of seafood and enjoyed it , she had to take about 1/2 home. I had the Guinness burger . This burger takes me back to Annie's Paramount Steak House which was in the same area and closed 5 years ago. This place has been here since 1930 and totally reminds me of the old O'Donnell's in Bethesda. Its your classic seafood restaurant. Their decor with their kick knacks on wall display case, and big roaring fireplace, its so old school. I digged it. You can place your name through their website for online waitlist too. It saved us a lot of time waiting! They have a kids menu, rolls with butter that are complimentary, and a train up towards the ceiling, that my girl liked to see. So bonus on the kids menu! No complaints about the service, but as others mentioned this place isn't cheap! Now time for the food. I had flounder with crab imperial and was piping hot. The oysters on the half shell was good starter (next time i am going to get their cream of crab soup), but the The crab meat was good but the flounder meat kind of disintegrated with the piping hot plate and crab. The crab cake has barely any fillers and my mom and my wife enjoyed it. All entrees come with two sides (really liked their mashed potatoes). Took a spontaneous day trip to Maryland's Eastern Shore (June 2025) and, on a local's tip, found ourselves at Fisherman's Inn for a late lunch. We'd originally tried to wait it out for The Jetty just down the road--but the crowd was larger and louder than my appetite was patient, lol. (Still hoping to circle back and try it another time!) We kept it simple--just fresh cobb salad and fish tacos. Both were delicious and flavorful, however, based on some of the dishes I saw going past our table, it's clear there is a need to go back! Oh, and one unexpected cool little fun and whimsical touch? I kept hearing a soft buzzing overhead and couldn't quite figure it out until I looked up and spotted a tiny train chugging along a track above the dining room! That gave the place an even cooler vibe. Next time, it would be great to have a water view but all in all...great service, fresh tacos, salty air--what more could a mermaid ask for on a lazy Saturday afternoon and a landlocked lunch break? :-) Just once again shows that sometimes the best finds are the ones you didn't plan for. It's been 15 years since I was last here. I always preferred the Narrows, but times change. My family of 4 enjoyed the food and the service was amazing. She read us from the moment we sat down, making our dinner as relaxing as possible. We went with all apps tonight in order to get a read on the food. Was happy to see the Crab Stack was still on the menu - fried green tomatoes in a sauce loaded with lump crab, sweet corn and country ham. Did the half and half of crab vegetable and cream of crab soup. This wasn't one of my favorites, but was worth the try. The seafood boil was a nice portion of shrimp, clams and mussels. The character of the restaurant matches the island's affection for the Maryland Watermen. The decor is seafood centric but not overdone. Bar service was fast and friendly. I recommend mixing it up right a way for a creamy tomato crab soup. The Bites were even better. Crispy and flavorful. Strongly recommend a bite of seaweed salad and ginger with the sesame ginger sauce and wasabi for the perfect blended taste. Rock fish is a heartier fish so it is almost like a Panko chicken. We both started with soup: I enjoyed a cup of Maryland vegetable crab soup. My friend ordered the Fried Green Tomato stack to share. It has ham and a creamy sauce, and it was very tasty. I ordered the single crab cake plate from the lighter fare portion of the menu. It came with a salad or vegetable, so I had green beans. Dessert was Smith Island Cake (chocolate peanut butter), and they brought it out with a candle for my birthday. You can't go wrong here. The food tasted wonderful. The Baja Baja tacos with shrimp were good, but the shrimp was overdone, so definitely get Mahi Mahi instead. The Swordfish BLT was also super good and tasty. Generous portion of swordfish, thick delicious bacon, almost too large, but delicious. We chose toasted rye bread. The blackened Chesapeake Rockfish tasted great and was to die for. It was a good amount of spice and it was great. The baked potato side was great. The chicken tenders were very good too, with great breading and a nice inside texture. The fries were great.
