The ribeye steak was terrible. Small tough cut of horrible beef. The grilled sirloin steak from Golden Corral is superior to the ribeye here. The hand cut French fries morphed into a limp soggy ball of oil covered potato. The macaroni and cheese was bland. The Sweet Islander cocktail lacked any alcohol taste. The grilled pound cake being grilled was so unique and delicious, the pineapple tasted canned, but all in all it was decent. We didn't realize how close to closing time they were when we came in and only realized when we left - I point this out because the servers seemed to rush, be annoyed, and weren't calm/cool/collected, but I get it. I was visiting the area and looking for a casual dinner spot. We made a reservation as it was Saturday, but it was not crowded at all. They have a spacious seating area with tables as well as seating at the bar. They had a live guitarist playing which was nice and added to the ambiance. The food portions were pretty amazing based on the price paid. I had the sirloin with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The steak had a great grill flavor, but was lacking in seasoning. This is a small place but mighty. My husband and I were looking for a new place to eat a good meal on our way to the outlets and this is one of our new favorite spots. Everything was great! The service, the decor, the menu was interesting, the hot fresh baked bread basket and the food was just flavorful. We ordered the jalapeño poppers, a steak dinner and lamb dinner which were both cooked to perfection. The price point for the quality of food is absolutely amazing. My entree was filet mignon with fried bananas and fries. The steak was perfectly cooked medium rare. After I devoured my entree my waitress suggested a crème brûlée as a dessert. This specific dessert was another first for me and I was impressed. It was slightly sweet and extremely rich and took my taste buds on a roller coaster. Frix's Fire Grill is a Brazilian restaurant on Kent Island. I moved to Kent Island a year ago and this place is across the street from my apartment. The menu is very unique and everything I have had is simply amazing. The filet mignon is absolutely like butter and melts in your mouth, my sons are 24 and 20 and every time they visit, it is mandatory that we eat there. The atmosphere is very nice, wait staff is polite, and prompt with your drinks, and food. The cocktails are out of this world, and you will enjoy them! One of my favorite things at Frix's is the appetizers. Mandioca Y Linguica is the bomb!! Crisp fried yucca with fried onions and a sliced-up sausage are just divine. If you have never had yucca, it is similar to a potato, and you can't tell the difference. The other app that I love is the Filetzhino, which is sliced filet sauteed with onions and peppers in a balsamic reduction. Desserts are also fantastic. The grilled pineapple pound cake is great as is the brownie with ice cream. The prices are high if you are not from the area, but for the Island they are not bad at all. The gumbo gave my mom food poisoning. We ate at around 8 last night, and as of 10 o'clock this morning she is still throwing up. The codfish fritters tasted like soggy paper. The fries were good. I ate some of the sauce, rice, and sausage that came with the gumbo so it might have been the shrimp, maybe it was undercooked. My mom can barely get a sentence out without throwing up. Update: We ate on the 11th. It's now the 14th and she is still sick and throwing up. read more

She enthusiastically recommended the blackened chicken. I ordered that along with blackened shrimp ,mashed potatoes, and black beans. I love chili for some reason. This was some outstanding chili! This was a 32.00 order the burger was undercooked the cheese wasn't melted and the bread was hard. As you can see the fries was cooked to death! The yucca is hard and cold as well as the sausage hotdog (really), the only thing right was the salad. How they got 4.5 rating is beyond me! read more
