This place has gone down hill. They keep replacing all there knowledgeable employees with up charging idiots. I called and spoke with a man named Robert about pouching a trolling motor. After a couple different calls and debates he finally told me he could order what I needed. When I went to have the trolling motor installed it was the wrong size. I brought it back and was telling him and he kept getting passive aggressive with me that I was wrong and whoever was installing the until didn't know what they were doing. That new manager is horrible. I came in and bought a reel I had called and had put on hold the day before. When I got there the reel was a display and had no box. I agreed to buy the reel but asked if they could either work out a deal on a little off on the reel or the line. The one guy who was helping me said I had to talk to the main manager who in the end said no. I then decided I wanted to buy another reel so I asked him ok I am buying another reel would he mind giving me a deal on just the line for that reel since I spent over $600. He tells me no again. The first time I went into fisherman's warehouse was back in 2012. I was starting out as a complete newbie to fishing, and relied on help from FW staff. Well. I received zero help from the large pompous and condescending man at the counter, ended up getting skunked, and decided to learn fly fishing instead. Fast forward, I got an itch to learn bass fishing and came into FW last weekend. The shop was really busy and the staff handled the crowd really well. I received constant assistance with new staff on gear, how to use such gear, and also information on the fishery I was targeting. I really like the variety of baits and tackle. I was able to find everything I was looking for and not many items were out of stock. Big shoutout to Austin and the tall employee with the Simms hoodie!! They really helped me enjoy the world of bass fishing. After this much improved experience I'll definitely be back. read more

I walked in today hearing three counter guys yell " we are busy!" to an employee asking for help. I laughed it off, and overheard their conversation that they were busy with. Not work related. I, and a dozen other customers, walked around without any assistance. The young lady at the counter was the ONLY person helping customers. When she asked if the counter guys could answer the phone, they yelled "We are busy!" and ignored her. I found most of the baits I was looking for. About $200 to $250 worth of merchandise. I stopped to look at reel in the case. Asked to see it. You guessed it "WE ARE BUSY!" I dropped the basket and left. It used to be a nice shop with good customer service. We went back one day later because the line was jumping out of the spool uncontrollably. The manager wouldn't even hear what the problem was, the answer was no. They won and lost a customer this day, the manager knew it and couldn't care less. Don't come here if you want a reasonable return policy. Good ugly stick rod though! Also, they are marking their lures at one price and then up-charging when scanning at the register. Horrible customer service. Your business is going downhill with these lame workers working for you. I have been going here for the last 4 years and spent at least $1k every year in the store. But I will never be going back. Austin was great but these workers you have now do not want to work and are not knowledgeable. I bought your reel and had it spooled with line. I was told to come back to mark them every 100ft. I came back today they the guys behind the counter told me that you guys dont mark lines. I told them Austin has been doing this for me all these years. I also told them that I was told to come back to get this done by Austin. Their reason why they can't do it is because it's hard to unspool 400ft and mark them. Such BS. Then they miraculouly said they can do it for $25. We went in after breakfast looking to stock up on some gear. We both needed to use the restroom not seeing the sign that said no public restroom. I used it then my boyfriend went to use it. I was waiting for him with our friend at the register while he checked out and my boyfriend was confronted by a man literally on the outside of the door and in his face pointing to a sign that said no public restroom. My boyfriend said sorry I didn't see it then they proceeded to get into an argument as the gentleman was causing him of stealing! They came to the front of the store where I was and continued accusing him of stealing, my boyfriend took his button down shirt off and said search me. The guy just kept saying you seem guilty! i let him know I used the restroom as well and didn't see the sign. we are both very active in our community and love supporting small businesses. the amount of disrespect that came from this gentleman is unbelievable! A week after we stopped in here, and bought up armfuls of stuff for freshwater, my son also visited the Manteca location, blowing his budget on saltwater gear. He said that one was even bigger. Great Fishing Store Near Sacramento.!! The location was easily visible from Folsom Blvd. not far from HWY50. As someone who absolutely loves to fish and rummage through tackle this experience was very pleasant. It was a good place to find rare tackle. They had freezers full of once living baits. (I imagine where allot of Fishing guides buy there bait). In fact there were allot of locals sharing recent experiences and fishing photographs of recent catches posted all over the shop. The staff was very kind and knowledgeable with a ton of advice. My mom and myself love these places and find it fun to check them out and leave an honest review. I would recommend this place to new and seasoned fisherman of all ages/genders. The parking was nice and close. Wheelchair accessible. What's not to love?.! Great power bait selection as well.! They have a lot of supplies here, anything you could ever need for your next outdoor adventure! I came here to look for some weights for my crab snares and the guy working there had to ask his other boss what is best to use. But it's ok, we all start somewhere, I got what I needed but wish the staff here were more helpful/knowledgeable since I'm starting out myself. During crabbing season, the crab gear runs very low so I'd suggest coming here ahead of the season to get your gear. Overall good experience and happy with my purchase! read more

I had around 800 yards of line to spool so it took a bit to create Bimini twist connections and such, and they both made sure the connections were solid and the line was spooled on tight.
