It's appalling how bad the customer service is in Sportsman's Warehouse. I have experienced the…read moresame problem at the Rancho Cordova store and at the Rocklin store. The problem is the firearms counter. I have purchased a few guns there over the past 13 years, and the experience has universally been horrible. The basic tone is this: The staff's demeanor is as if they are doing you a favor by selling you something. They are quite deliberately aloof, indifferent, and they slow-walk everything they do. This occurs whether they are busy or not. Either way, it will be an agonizingly slow experience if you want help or want to purchase a firearm. They randomly chose to use or ignore their "take a number" system, and when you go in there's never any way to tell whether you should take a number or not. You can stand at the counter, waiting for help for an hour at times. Often they won't acknowledge your presence or even make eye contact. It feels as if you are offending them by even being there, and they want nothing more than for you to just go away. If you actually wish to purchase a firearm, I would recommend budgeting at least two hours in the store. Or better yet, go to another store that has some level of competent management and values their customers. That's what I'm going to do. The clearest way I can explain it? The firearms counter at Sportsman's Warehouse is exactly like trying to get help from a big city branch of the California DMV. That sums it up perfectly.

I called in to get quick questions answered before coming in. Which resulted in prompt educated…read moreresponses. Saved me a trip due to honesty and I was in and out for what I needed. The person on the phone was polite and articulate to answer what I needed. The person even remembered me when I came in the store. Very rare to get this type of service. I am assuming the bad reviews are people who were educated and felt horrified about their lack of knowledge. Gun culture is an educated culture, be prepared to learn or abide by the safety standards and rules that adhere to them. Inside the store was clean and spacious areas. The department I needed was the firearms section, which was at the far end of the shop. That being said they have a wide collection of what I say good ammo that you can rely on for self-defense. What I can also say is that they do not gouge you on prices. The prices are well within reason, and they are updated ammunition. By updated I mean that they have different casings for those who know that grains and bullet type matter. That being said, getting plinking ammunition is a good to go here. You can trust the brands they have in stock and the staff for the firearms department is knowledgeable and friendly. Keep in mind the long wait is due to either education, or the long lengthy checks to get said items. That being said, pay your taxes, pay your registration fees, do your due diligence and you're out and about easy. I may bring in my gun to get checked by their smith. But TBH American Made Baretta 9mm FS is the far superior choice than the mass produced m9 and Italian made one. I don't think I need a service on my weapon in quite some time. Do your research, some things made in America, is better and not well advertised. This goes for the ammunition as well. To the dude who helped me. Thank you, man. Thank you for your service as well. Representing Americans to the finest quality one can hope for. Thank you.

I own a duck hunting club on Van Sickle Island in the Suisun Marsh and had placed an order for an…read moreXFowler Mallard blind before the start of the 2022 Waterfowl season. The reason for that was I needed an extra blind to accommodate two Marine Corps veterans that wished to hunt my property . On October 10th, 2022, I spoke to Mr. Harry Bunfill, the owner of the XFowler company on several occasions and he told me I would have the blind by Saturday October 22nd, opening weekend of the duck season. On October 12th, 2022 he then told me that the blind wouldn't be available on opening day because of some issues he had with his vendors which couldn't provide him with the cages that mount on the blind's floating platform. On October 25th, 2022 Mr. Harry Bunfill told me on the phone that he would deliver the blind to me in the morning of October 27th, 2022 at 07:00 hours. I then got a text from him telling me that he would deliver the blind on the evening of October 26th. I called him to coordinate a time and place and he told me that he would meet me at 19:30 hours right after another delivery he was making at another nearby duck club. On the phone, I specifically asked him not to leave my blind on that other club property. That evening, I waited patiently until 21:00 hours and never heard from Mr.Harry Bunfill. The next morning, I received a phone call from the owner of the nearby duck club who told me that my blind had been left on his property the night before. He said the blind was very heavy and that he did not have any means to bring it to me. He also said that he had told Mr. Harry Bunfill that he did not think it was a good idea to leave my blind on his property. I called Mr. Bunfill to ask him about my blind. Mr. Bunfill got very angry and told me he had called me that evening and that I should have answered my phone. I replied I had never received any call from him. He then started insulting me, calling me names and told me to go F**ck myself and take the blind and shove it up my a**ss. All that after I had paid over $5000.00 dollars of my hard earned money for that blind. I told him that if I did not get the blind soon I wanted my money back. Mr. Bunfill then sent me the following text message: " Your return has been processed. I don't want people like you to have our products. I don't want your type's business. You are a narcissist and a liar. I find it hard to believe anyone likes you at all. I'm sorry I wasted my time on you. You're a miserable person and you know it. The world will be a little bit better when you're gone. I am just thankful that you don't have one of our blinds". Interesting way of doing business Mr. Bunfill! I will make sure to forward my review to some of your customers including the California Waterfowl Association and the U.S Fish and Wildlife!
