Its a really long drive from San Francisco, but if your planning a surprise date and want to really throw your loved one off, what better than paintball in the middle of nowhere! The owners are a riot, they themselves are worth the drive! I'm no pro when it comes to paint-ball, but apparently most fields don't allow rental guns to run on pre-purchased paint - Action Paintball does allow it, I was actually encouraged by the guy when talking on the phone them. Not only can you bring your own paint, but they also allow some guy to sell & rent higher grade paintball equipment in their parking lot! After a thorough discussion last night, we concluded that Action Paintball will receive 5-stars. I honestly hadnt been paintballin in years and never on a course in the hills with thick trees. We drove up around 9:30, rented all the gear and got started around 10am. I was able to rent a gun, mask, belt for extra paintballs and a big bag of paintballs for $40. The first two games we got our royal ass kicked. Like the game was over in 5-10 minutes. I even got shot right between the eyes, didnt even know the guy was there. But as the games went along we found our groove and started to dominate. I never died the last 8 games and my buddies and I were working together as a finely tuned machine. Dont get me wrong, I did get hit a couple times in the arm(left a nice bruise), but the paintball didnt explode so I was able to continue. I enjoyed the different courses they had. Also enjoyed how some of the courses were out in the open and some were through the thick trees. After every two rounds you can walk to your truck and grab some water/snack. We didnt get done until a little after 4. So for $40 you get to play all day and rent equipment. That is a pretty good price for all day fun. I also recommend wearing camo of some sort because you can really blend in and either sneak up on people or have them walk right to you because they dont see you. Anyway, it was a kick ass time and we are already wanting to come back again. P.S. I was horrifically sore for a few days afterwards and my feet were killing me. Am I a wuss? Probably. But did I look tough in camo? HELL YES!!!

I cannot say enough good things about this place! I had my twin boys' 10th birthday party here (16…read moreboys total). Not only it is a super cool field with a mix of trees / built obstacles / walls, but it is extremely well run. 16 10 year old boys is a lot, but this place is run by a dad of 5 boys and his sons so he knows how to handle a lot of high energy boys. He made it fun but safe. The rules were very clear. All of the boys had such a great time!! They did multiple rounds with different games and objectives which kept the kid all entertained. I think everyone's favorite was the kids vs parents where all the parents got to go on the field. Great picnic table setup perfect to bring and have cupcakes / pizza etc. they supplied plenty of water and there is a bathroom right next to the field. Highly highly recommend!!! It was very organized and very quick when we wanted to check in. I was surprised at how efficient they were getting us out there and playing games! It was back to back for the most of it. (30 minute lunch break for staff.) Everyone in my group had a good time and we will be back. Thanks for making this smooth for all of us! If I had to say anything, I wish I was able to go on the other courses! Some of it looked pretty flooded so it was probably closed for safety reasons. We were on the same one whole time but it was still a blast.

This place was so much fun! My kids and husband had a blast, we had no problem at all using our Groupon and the customer service was spot on, they answered every single question that all 5 of my boys could possibly think of, they even calmed our nerves when we saw a ton of players arrive in riot gear. They actually let us play a private game instead. So grab your kids, pack a lunch and go play! You'll love it!

Around 10 to 15 years ago, I used to play at Gamepod Combat Zone. At Gamepod, during that time they had no chairs! Had I known this place has chairs, I would not have brought my own foldable chair today, LOL!! The rules are quite fair. Regular guns are capped at 400 fps max. This is quite lenient when considering that other places are capped at 350 fps. Although, I am mainly a gamer and rarely an airsofter, I would come here again whenever I have the time.

Our whole party was taken to the back lounge area and given the entire run down of the 60,000 sq ft facility. And the most important thing emphasized was safety, and if there was an issue with that we could be taken off the course. The whole course was awesome, and during our 2 hr session we were able to play 5 different 20 minute games. The 1st was a 5 v 4 game since we had 9 players, and then the remaining games were mission oriented to include; bomb control, and bomb placement. The CQB City course provided and array of building, vehicles, and obstacles to hid around. And all of our participants had an awesome time. I'd just keep in mind you'll definitely get hot running around, so make sure your water or something to keep your hydrated. And wear the proper clothing, so long sleeves and pants, gloves to protect your hands from pellets. And either bring your own airsoft weapons or extra protection over your clothing. Or you can use the rental options provided by CQB. My girlfriend and her friend didn't get a chance to play this time, as she wanted to get food and drinks for when we were all done. So we'll definitely be back for an adult only game. Overall: Great course, great games, safety was a priority for staff, staff was very professional. Will definitely ve back!

I've played paintball for over 7 years, and tourney ball for over 3. I've lived in Sacramento and…read morevarious parts of the bay, I've traveled up and down the state and across the country for tournaments, and WAP remains hands down my favorite field. The things that set it aside from every other place are the laid back environment, good people, a well kept park, and a distinct lack of aggressive idiots. Many parks are treated simply as a business by their owners, or are neglected from monday-friday and covered in goo on the other two days. The family that runs WAP not only take great pride in their field, they're chill, reasonable, and honest. This isn't exactly a haven for tournament players, which may contribute to the field's charm. While the field features a 7-man airball field, 2 lego fields, a terrific hyperball field, a spool field, and another pipe field dubbed "hydroball" (complete with swiveling bunkers!), the players are usually a mix of walk-ons, a few new guys, and some trusty regulars. The staff is helpful and competent, which is actually a lot to ask for sometimes. Nearly all of the usual suspects at this field use pump guns, which require a manual reloading action after every shot. This helps to even up the playing field while honing playing skills and preventing people from getting shot in half by guns shooting 18 balls per second. (There's no rule against it, as anywhere, but nothing like a little peer influence). I've never understood people who like to beat up on the new guys with their superguns and yell and scream like they own the joint. It ruins people's day and it's not fun. Anyhow... If you're looking to get out and try your hand at paintball with your friends/coworkers/roommates or just want to play some ball in a place not reffed by 12 year olds, give WAP a try. Please do not show up and act like a total fool or I will shoot you till my blood pressure goes back down.
